  1. Yeah the "understanding" part is always going to be difficult without the experience and living through a different time etc. That's how I feel about the pronoun stuff and non binary etc. I find it quite confusing but it's not about me. I see the younger generation treating it as a perfectly normal and expected thing just like we would've with male/female. I guess everything's unusual and unfamiliar when it first starts right? Plus there's often an element of fear of the unknown.

I've always tried to be open though even if it's something I don't necessarily "get". Especially now I've got kids. Who knows how they'll feel or what they'll want in the future. But I need them to know that I'll be here and accept them no matter what. I don't want them to be scared of being whoever they want to be and being happy. Everyone deserves that and there's so much judgement in the world.

Admittedly I get a bit more judgey if someone's sexually attracted to a tree or something..Ā  but on the whole I'm accepting of the world and a more progressive and open future. I love seeing people being able to find themselves and a way to exist. It's shit living day after day having to pretend you're something you're not because you live in fear of rejection or disappointing others or whatever it is. I'm sure we've all struggled with ourselves at one point or another.

  2. I do wonder what the plan would've been for Sami if all this other shit hadn't gone down. Brock. Punk. The Rock. All of that. I'm not even sure what his path to Mania would've been if anything. Something with Drew seemed the most logical.

Still don't think Chad would've got his Gunther match anyway. Would they have ever thought that was a worthy Mania match? I doubt it.

  3. I'll be honest - I didn't really care going into it, so I don't think there was anything they were going to do that was going to convince me otherwise.

Best I can say is they've given her the red carpet treatment. They've made her look like a big deal. They've basically given her her own home show to debut on. There's not much more they could've done to make her seem like a special signing, so all credit to them there.

The womens division has been incredibly up and down over the years but they've got a solid roster there so hopefully her signing continues to push it all in the right direction.

But yeah, the CEO thing was annoying me after about a minute so that wasn't a good sign. I think I agree a bit with the 'fake' feeling.

I just couldn't buy into what she was saying. I think the problem was that it was almost booked to mirror the Punk debut and therefore there felt like a stronger element of 'booking' where the Punk one felt more natural. Does that even make any sense? Probably not, sorry. I think this felt like they were trying to replicate something rather than just letting real emotion take over.

  4. Without wanting to go all timey wimey changing history, you have to wonder where Bryan would've ended up if he hadn't been fired at that point. It added a bit extra to his story. I mean obviously he's so fucking good that it probably would've worked out in the end but its an interesting thought anyway.

  5. On a personal level, definitely wish I was more hyped for it but I'm sure it'll be a fun watch anyway. Would be nice if there was something else surprise wise too but I guess we'll see.

The show itself looks pretty solid actually. More looking forward to some of the matches than anything Mercedes related.

Really good RAW again I thought. I know the general consensus is often that Smackdown is better because itā€™s 2 hours etc but no chance. Nearly everyone that is remotely interesting is on RAW.Ā

I was about to argue and then I actually looked at the Smackdown roster and there's a surprising amount of shit there.

But 2 hours helps that a lot.

Someone jumped on a months-old meme.

This was going around months ago, with people posting CGI renders of famous folk and then captioning it with ā€œscientists have discovered what [historical person] looked like.ā€

Yeah I thought I remembered it. Guess you just have to wait until enough people have forgotten it and then try it again. That's social media for you.

The wife and kids also went to the cinema to see the new Wonka film (Czech dubbed version), which they said was the best one because they got popcorn and juice and it had a giraffe in it.

My kids went to see it at the cinema recently, and then at home a few days later, and they've not stopped singing the songs. It's driving me crazy but I guess there are worse things they could be obsessed with. Plus seeing them do Oompa Loompa dances is fairly amusing.

Just read they've cancelled the Aussie version because of low ratings, a real shame as both those series were superb.

Yeah I was really surprised about that when I read it. The Aussie market seems to be constantly full of reality stuff so maybe there was just too much for it to stand out, but I'm always seeing Aussie versions of stuff popping up (Survivor, Apprentice etc). Not sure where they went wrong as their efforts on both series were really solid. Maybe it wasn't marketed very well or something.

  10. Cody and Sami are the only two that I would say genuinely feel like a worthy next step from Roman.

Anyone else feels more like a secondary Seth title holder. I don't think in any era they would've strapped that rocket to LA Knight THAT much to give him the Roman title.

And Bryan wouldn't still be around. It was never about titles for him. He wanted to wrestle a whole bunch of people and the only way he was ever going to do that was by leaving WWE. And same with Adam Copeland to be honest. They'd both done it all, had second chances at careers, and were only ever going to do more if they left the safety net.

Ospreay reminds me of AJ Styles when I first saw him. Heā€™s a cracking spectacle but once he calms down a bit and works that slightly more generic main event style Iā€™ll probably enjoy his matches more. Heā€™d probably benefit from being booked as a feature attraction for now.

That's how I felt about Ospreay a few years back but he's actually a lot better now I think.
