  1. You'd be perfect for something like Retro Gamer which is the only magazine I actually subscribe to these days. Your writing is superb.

I actually love writing myself but I'm terrible at having the attention span for it.

  2. I love Bron's spear. Feels like the complete opposite of the weak Edge one. Bron has a ridiculous speed and intensity. As long as they play into that I think it's a great move for him, even if it can be overused. At least it's not a superkick.

  3. I guess anyone boycotting WWE won't have to worry about it being average.

Backlash has mostly been a forgettable show in history hasn't it? Especially when it was just filled with Mania rematches.

So actually on paper there's nothing mega there but I think with a hot crowd there's a good few matches that should end up enjoyable, if not insignificant in the grand scheme of things.

Probably an easy fun watch that we won't talk about again much after.

I really am a fan of AEW but it’s moments like this that remind me how far we’ve come from the promise of its creation, “wrestling but done better”, and as the 89 pages of this thread attest to a lot of the blame for that lies at Khan’s door directly.

Sometimes I think how I'd feel if I'd left WWE or tried to avoid them and went to AEW thinking it'd be better and the owner was better and then all this shit comes up on the regular. Don't get me wrong, the industry is better for AEW's existence and TK has done a lot right by people. But every so often he slips back into fanboy mode and it's in public and its embarrassing. He knows full well the mistakes others have made over the years. He had a rare opportunity to start with a mostly clean slate and not fall into the same traps.

Absolutely weird flex, very on brand.

I mean I'm not sure what you think my 'brand' is beyond trying to talk some sense into you once in a while. Maybe that's a mistake but you do take things very personally and have a crazy tunnel vision when it comes to all things AEW. I try to approach you and your posts in a reasonable manner as most people do actually. Whether you choose to listen to that or not is obviously your choice but I don't consider my observation there to be weird OR a flex to be honest.

And as I said in my original comment, I don’t agree with him saying it, and that he’s a twat for saying it. Just seems people can’t read or just want to make a cheap quip to get a few likes.

I mean let's be fair - you're happy to share anti-WWE memes and whatever, so you're okay with the jokey posts when it suits your opinion. So either it's okay or not.

Everyone laps it up when CM Punk talks shit but gets weirdly upset when Tony Khan does it.

Thing about TK is he's out there pretending to be better. To be presenting an alternative. To be doing business better. And yet he's got people on his books that we know have done wrong things. He's been sinking further and further in his behaviour and taking unnecessary shots when he could take the high ground but he doesn't.

For me thats where the disappointment lies. In seeing a guy who had a chance to be better and show better and make a positive change actually end up in very similar shitty behaviours to what has come before him.

Obviously there's a shit ton of other people and worse historic behaviours and blah blah blah. We know that. But the 'well THEY did this..' argument doesn't really justify anything.

  8. Yeah most of that was oddly pointless. I guess it just gets people talking and a way to hype the shows and some additional content even if they're not planning any major shakeups. But on the whole a waste of time.

I didn't mind the Melo thing though. You make him look like a big deal and one to watch. He looked really good against Cody. The loss won't hurt him in the slightest. Looking forward to his main roster run.

With Kenny coming back next week, got me wondering whatever happened to Kota Ibushi?

I thought he was signed to AEW but to be honest I had forgotten all about him.

Wasn't he completed fucked? I just remember him being a mess.

Jack Perry just has zero presence though, so feels like it was wasted on him. Okada should have been the one to do it instead of Perry.

Perry definitely needs it more than Okada. And while i really didn't care about Jack before, or even if he came back, I've quite enjoyed his work recently.

  11. I'm in two minds about it.

On the one hand I'm glad they went for a hot angle and it was definitely the right crowd to do it in front of. It'll get people talking and that's what they need.

But I have absolutely no interest in seeing TK on screen. None. He doesn't have the personality or performance to pull anything off convincingly so I really hope this is start and finish of his involvement and the talent do the heavy work carrying the storyline forward. If its left to the Elite guys then we'll be in for a fun ride. But if Tony got a taste of it.. well, let's just hope not.
