  1. Congratulations to Trump-ite and former presidential candidate Herman Cain on his death, as a result of Covid. I saw him interviewed a couple of times and he sounded as thick as two short planks. Naturally, he was against wearing masks & now he won't have to bother. Way to go Herman.

  2. Kairi's super-cute, she could work (to a level) against women of a similar physical stature and she's gutsy. That's basically what I said about her before she signed. She was a 5-6 year pro with STARDOM, trained by Fuka (who's hardly Satomura). All things considered, she's over-achieved. Stupid comment about her elbow drop. Delivered properly, as she did multiple times in STARDOM, it's gorgeous. A finisher? No.

  3. I suppose DDT is currently the most popular of the 3. NOAH's roster isn't upto much and TJP is a shite, cutesy, joshi indie, from the very little I've seen of it. Doubtless the parent company has plans to expand, but they're way short at the moment. So short, they don't appreciate just how lacking they are. My guess would be this'll have zero impact on AEW, or wrestling in general. DDT could draw 10,000 or so for their annual event. The addition of the other 2 might bump that up to 12,000 (in non-Covid times). Essentially, they bought 3 shit promotions & now want to merge them into 1 larger shit promotion.

  4. Shithouses moaning about their trips abroad being ruined. Were it not for this devastaingly stupid government, I hadn't anticipated any non-essential flights entering or leaving this country for the remainder of the year anyway. The fucking entitlement of some people. Fuck your holidays, you grotty little oiks.

  5. If Watford weren't already my least favourite Premier League club, they are now. What a shambles. When you're sacking so many managers, first thing to do would be take a very long, hard look at yourselves (the owners, I mean). More generally, I don't know what Watford are supposed to be. From the outside looking in, they appear to be a totally random bunch of players, thrown together, with no identity or style. Not sure you can have an identity with that level of managerial turnover. They bring nothing. Ugly kit, ugly ground...just uuggh. I'd be happy to see them plummet, as other clubs have done in the past. Wouldn't mind seeing Bournemouth go either. Not that Villa deserve to stay up, but I have more time for them as a club. With a bit of luck, Brentford will make it. Something different. West Brom or Fulham will most likely continue to yo-yo again & that's getting stale too. Fortunately for me, Preston tailed off. I'd fear for them, as I would for most aspiring Championship clubs at the moment. I think I heard that the promoted clubs are to be disadvantaged by £8m, in comparison to previous seasons. The transfer window's gonna be a mess and with no prospect of fans returning in numbers, gate receipts are fucked. Don't know how TV rights are likely to pan out. Presumably conractual obligations are in place, but are people going to subscribe (or whatever) to watch matches. I can't even be arsed with the free stuff that's on currently. A bit like WWE, they literally can't even give it away. Pleased to see once mighty Leeds back where they belong though. Didn't know Bielsa could actually smile.

  6. In the past few days, I think I've witnessed two of the worst finishes to matches that I've seen. Tazz throwing in the towel to 'protect his investment'. Absolute bollocks. Who does that in wrestling? First thing I'd do (in kayfabe world) if I were Cage, would be to sack him off. Nobody comes out of that looking good, including the booker. They've made Cage look like a chump. Different thread, I know, but Asuka (nearly called her Kana there...old habits die hard) vs Sasha was fucking embarassing, for the whole company. Why even bother. Bring back puppy wrestling.

  7. Moon Unit Zappa - "Valley Girl" & John Copper Clarke - "Beasley Street"

Two pieces of wry, yet very contrasting social commentary, released (broadly speaking) around the same time. Cooper Clarke's lyrics being particularly poignant.

  8. Pleased to see Alexis Sanchez seems to have finally got his shit back together at Inter. He was tremendous until the stupid move to Utd. Something of an assist-machine at the moment. I know he's getting on now, but I wouldn't have wanted his career to be defined by his form of the past 2-3 years. Good for him.

-edit- bang on cue, he adds another.

  9. Stuff in wrestling that has you literally scrambling for the remote (current or historic). It's a wide field & can be for any reason, with or without justification. A few examples, with doubtless more to follow:

    (I) In terms of verbals, I give '2 warnings'. Third time, you're so fucking gone.

    Vicky Guerrero - "Excuse me!"
    Matt Riddle - "Bro"
Steve Austin or any crowd repeating "What?"

(II) The very sight of you is sufficient in itself.

Baron Corbin - who the actual fuck are you?...in your cunting crown.
    Eddie Edwards - uuuuuuuugghh
Don West - Daffy Duck bastard
Danshoku Dino - No. I don't wanna see your arse, son.

    Please add your own

    Where are you watching it?

In my living room. Sorry. ITV4 or ITV4+1 on SKY. No problems with my signal quality & it's the only show that not just does it, but does it repeatedly.

-Edit- Unless of course, it's an ITV issue, what with their hub and everything. I don't know how shit works these days.

Dustin Rhodes had one against Cody, IIRC. Cody may not be the most talented worker in the ring, but he's solid enough to shine when paired with someone great.

He was bang average in Japan. Looked like a star, but sure as hell didn't perform like one. Haven't seen the match you mentioned, so I can't comment. He's hardly knocking it out of the park at the moment. I was making a more general point anyway. It's a different ethos in Japan. Just about every gaijin I've heard interviewed says so and it's pretty obvious to anyone who has eyes...waits for the 'because Japan' comments.

It'll be easier to judge AEW once all the talent is available. It's a bit of a mess at present and they could do to nick half a dozen women from TNA.

Who's going to take a chance on Tessa? She is a star...like her or not.

  12. How the fuck have they managed to put Allie back in the ring? She was the drizzling shits in Japan, no better in TNA and makes Velvet Sky look like Akira Hokuto. Other than being wed to Braxton 'Blade' Sutter, I'm not sure why she's there at all. Brings less than nothing to the party.

  13. Not sure where these Omega (Japan) stats are coming from. The PPV events over recent years have generally been in the region of a full house..I'm talking about Edion Arena & the likes. WrestleKingdom has drawn as follows:

    2015 - 36,000 (Omega v Taguchi) - Jr. Title

    2016 - 25,000 (Omega v KUSHIDA) - Jr. Title

    2017 - 26,000 (Omega v Okada) - IWGP TItle

    2018 - 35,000 (Omega v Jericho) - U.S Title

    2019 - 38,000 (Omega v Tanahashi) - IWGP Title

    2020 - 40,000 (without Omega)

He was a draw, of course he was, but unless we're completely discounting; Shibata, Nakamura, Okada, Suzuki, Naito, Ibushi, Tanahashi, AJ, Ishii, Jericho.....I'd find it difficult to draw any great conclusion from that.

I wasn't suggesting he'd gone to AEW for a sleep & a payday, but there's no great need for him to have '7-star' matches. Who, on that roster, would he be having them against anyway?...not Cody, that's for damn sure & particularly not in empty fucking arenas.

Do AEW think it's OK to air stuff on TV, where the picture freezes multiple times? It's almost every fucking week. The opening match this week became completely unwatchable. Rank amateur stuff.
