    Pardon the Pun but hopefully the fight was an eye opener for Fury. Before the cut he didnt seem as sharp as he has been. Maybe he was starting to believe his hype a bit.

    Not seen the bout in it's entirety, but Fury obviously didn't see Wallin as a threat and was toying with him. The cut definitely caused him to take it seriously and he was lucky the doctor didn't call the fight.

    Jesus mate, they do so many variations on Stay Puft. The best I have tried is the imperial chocolate one. The amplified is in my fridge now, and then the oreo one is in my sights.

    Unfortunately they didn't have any bottles or cans of it for sale when I went to the brewery. I see they have put out a lot of variations of it, but I just want to try the normal one, because the combination intrigues me.

    Every time I think I’ve seen all the nutty Pereira clips out there, another one surfaces. Just fucking look at this shit, will you...

    Who does that? This mad bastard, that’s who.

    It does look like the other guy lands on his back with Pereira completely open to a guillotine. Why no go for a simple slam and and get into side control. Save your energy for beating your opponent.

  4. I was going to stay up to watch the Fury fight last night. The spirit was willing, but the body was full of ale and barbecued meat, so I tapped out and went to sleep before 11. My body still woke my arse up at 5:30 so I watched a 20 minute highlight video.

    Fury obviously thought he would walk the fight, with his height and reach advantage. Until he got cut in the 3rd then he realised that Wallin wasn't playing around. It became obvious that Fury had to change his game plan and looked to try and finish the fight. Wallin impressed me, but even with the cut Fury was the better boxer.

    I see everyone enjoyed their Saturday evening...

    I only ever pop into the wrestling bit of the board to look at weird pictures of Andre the giant. So seeing a thread title about 2 guys shooting a ref got me intrigued. I then read what actually happened and one of the people trying to make sense of what happened was a shandied up paedo. My name on here is literally rapist and I was a voice of reason.

    Having spent many Friday and Saturday nights putting up with drunken dickheads. I have gotten used to having a calm head while getting insulting remarks said to me in person. So doing so on the Internet is a doddle.

    Many, but none I’ll go into to people who are happily attacking and insulting me.

    Happy now I’ve replied to you since you seem desperate to be in the conversation?

    Well publicly you've thrown out terrible primary school insults, including death threats to women. Have tweeted sexually abusive things towards a minor and you support Tommy Robinson. I haven't seen a single redeeming thing about you so far. Hopefully you're half cut and will regret what you've written in the morning once you've sobered up. Unfortunately evidence shows you're just another internet hard man, slinging abuse whilst on your phone.

    Tiny Rebel Pump up the Jam that I had the same day. Lovely stuff that.

    I need to get some more of that, it's lush. I still need to try staypuft marshmallo stout. from them.

  9. Just tried a half of Mothership's limited run summer stout. It has rose and cardamom flavouring it, so it tastes like Turkish Delight. I'm not certain if it is nice or not, it has such a weird after taste.

    I don't think it's particularly fair using De Niro and Connery to prove how shit you think Costner is, especially in a film where those two actors get all the showy bits.

    My point is even though Costner is "the star" in that film he doesn't do anything to stand out. In his good films he might be the biggest name on the poster, but if he was replaced practically anyone else the films wouldn't suffer.

    He's not a complete charisma black hole, but he doesn't have that scene  stealing charm compare to many of his contemporaries. The best thing you can say about him is he is competent.

    That may or may not be the case, but what does that have to do with Costner? He played the role exactly as was required by Brian De Palma and was the right man for what De Palma wanted. If De Palma wanted a portrayal that was truer to life then obviously Costner wouldn't have been a perfect fit. But that's not the Ness we were presented with.

    All Costner does is ape Robert Stack's portrayal of Ness. What 3 things come into your head when thinking about the Untouchables? For me the 3 things are, Connery's "They put one of yours in the hospital, you send one of theirs to the morgue" speech. The pram rolling down the stairs shootout and De Niro beating the fuck out of some guy with a baseball bat during a meal.

    The shootout is all about the editing and cinematography rather than anything Costner does in that scene acting wise. The fact that your leading man is only in one of those 3 scenes and doesn't get the memorable quote from the film really says a lot about how bland he is. Simply because he is literally supported by the rest of the cast. If a film he is in doesn't have an ensemble cast its likely to be decent at best.

    No, the reason The Postman is shit is because it's shit. It was never going to work, regardless of who was in the lead. It was a piss-poor idea, badly executed.

    As for not thinking Costner was great in The Untouchables, I mean, what more would you expect from him in that particular role? He played the character of Elliot Ness *exactly* as he needed to be. He was never meant to be the showboat of the piece, but the level-headed centre of it. You turn him into some more charismatic hothead and the whole thing is unbalanced.

    The Postman could've worked with a charismatic lead actor (AKA not Costner) and a better director. (Again not Costner).

    Ness is always portrayed as a stoic, calm level headed person. When in reality he was an alcoholic, wife beating philanderer. With him having 4 different wives and being caught driving drunk on several occasions. The majority of which were covered up and only came out many years later.

    Sure, if you don't like his act then it might be hard to warm to him but his development from being a reliable leading man in the 80s and 90s to high quality character actor in the last eight or nine years shows a lot of self-awareness of his standing in the grand scheme of things. I really like him - The Untouchables, No Way Out, Bull Durham, Revenge, JFK, Wyatt Earp, Thirteen Days, Open Range.

    @Bellenda Carlisle

    @zep81

    Costner may be the leading man in those films, but he is never very memorable. Looking at those films looking at his co-stars its it's obvious who is the best actor and stand out character. Sean Connery, Gene Hackman, Susan Sarandon, Tony Quinn and Jon Leguiziamo. Jack Lemmon, Gary Oldman, Sissy Spacek and Ed Asner for JFK. Gene Hackman (again) in Earp.

    The entire reason The Postman is shit, because Costner is the focal point of the film and he simply doesn't have the acting chops to carry a film. He only really works as a lead where he has a strong supporting cast, because whilst he does have some charisma, he doesn't ever stand out.

    Wtf is that black thing behind the potatoes?

    Fuck knows, I still can't figure out what meat that is supposed to be. I would guess at chicken or Turkey, but it looks pinkish so maybe gammon?

    Also a post I nicked off Facebook and I got to imgur.com's front page and got a ton of comments.

    Hmmmm.  I've never had a mash scallop. They've always been a large thick cut potato slice in batter.

    The only ones I have ever had were like potato waffles without the holes in, in an oval shape.
