  1. I just finished the series Fargo with Billy Bob Thornton so wanted to try out some of his films I'd not seen before. Watched Sling Blade last night and thought it was really great and can't believe I'd never heard if it before. Thornton disappears into the role of Karl, Dwight Yoakam is an excellent bad guy and John Ritter is understatedly funny as the mothers gay best friend.

  2. I listened back to Punks podcast with Cabana today for the first time in years and I forgot just how much of a tool Punk comes across in it. There's a bit where Cabana is mentioning the (middling) mainstream attention Punk received after the 'pipebomb' promo (it was hardly Tyson/Austin levels like) and Punk says smugly 'yeah, you'll remember more if it than me because my life is such a blur' and yer just willing Colt to call him out as the poser prick he is. Its great that the majority of the world now finally sees Punk as that prick.

  3. There's a video of Punk flexing his arms and looking at them as if to compare them, and then sighing during the press conference. I'd say he knew right enough and decided to incinerate any bridges, as he knew his rep was poison backstage and he wouldn't be back.

That Khan let him rant away and treat him/his company with such disrespect is amazing and shows how fanboy blinkered he must be when it comes to Punk.

  4. I've given up on Regal's pod. With each episode I came to the realisation that he's a bit of a knob and a cranky auld fucker. The whole 'I'm not saying I'm a hard man' and then going on the brag how hard him and his mates were was the final straw. The host is a complete dullard too, which I'm sure doesn't help. Foley's can be hit and miss, but he at least has a good memory for interesting little details and Conrad has a frame of reference for the conversations.

I thought the opposite initially when both pods were announced. Reckoned Foley would phone it in but Regal would regall us with amazing stories and witticisms.

  5. Anyone read Brian Gewirtz's new book yet? assume it has the potential to be decent. I also thought the same about Edge's god awful autobiography & Foley's TNA era crud book though!

  6. Only time I was properly into gaming was in the PS1 heyday. I tried with a PS4 and a Covid impulse Xbox Series S buy, but games these days are just far too detailed for me. Landing a plane in Flight Sim on the S or managing a club on the new Football Manager might as well be in a different language to me at this stage. But the PS1 will always be king to me,

We got ours as a bribe from my mam's new boyfriend when she was unexpectedly knocked up by him at the age of 46. My 10 year reign of terror as the youngest child officially over, so he bought me and my brother off with the delightful grey box, with Fifa 97, Porsche Challange and Wipeout. It worked, and they are still happily together all these years later and I grudgingly accepeted the sister as I realised being the middle child meant I could get away with murder!

So many happy memories of whiling the hours of school summer holidays playing Resident Evil, Fifa RTWC 98 with the Song 2 intro, G-Police, Gran Turismo and loads more. Also first time I played a football management sim, where I unwisely parted with 25 quid to own the awful Alex Ferguson Player Manager. I soon discovered the Premier Manager series and an obscure enough game called FA Manager, which had Brian Moore doing commentary over horrendous in match graphics. I still got Fulham promoted from Div 2 to the Prem though, before my brother overwrote the memory card for some shite F1 sim. Still haven't forgiven him. Would eventually lead on to the crack cocaine like addiction of LMA manager, where me and my 2 friends would stay up most of summer nights of the early 00's playing it.

I also got into wrestling via WWF Attitude (which I found incredibly frustrating) and then the excellent first Smackdown game, bought with my confirmation money. It came free with a game guide which had bios and backstories of all the wrestlers in the game, so when I finally started watching properly around the time C4 started showing the PPV's, I knew bits about nearly everyone on TV at that point.

Only wish I'd kept my console and games!

  7. I got the Samsung Galaxy Buds 2, think they're around 80 odd quid labelled as French version off Amazon. I don't know if that means they are supposed to be charged in cheese or wine or something! Find them grand, and sound quality is very good. But Bluetooth signal can be a bit poor when I'm walking around with phone in my trouser pockets. Noise cancellation is good too. I sometimes just stick them on with no music playing, so I can read in peace on the bus to/from work!

  8. Entertaining solid midcarder who knows how to keep himself relevant. Peaked in late 2001 and never got near that level ever again. The list of Jericho stuff was great fun, but was never main eventing a PPV, never mind a Mania.

I don't know much about his real life, but I listened to his recent pod explaining being sick last year with his blood clot scare and glad to hear he's healthy and overcome it.

  9. Flair's promo at the end where he said he's looking forward to hanging out with Kid Rock as some sort of affirmation of his life was sad. The whole thing was sad really.

Found it strange that Taker took his wife and young daughter out to watch a 73 year old man bleed too.

  10. I still can't believe what a mess Regal's pod is. All he needs is a decent host to give him sort of semblance of direction. Instead we just have him saying  "I do me, I'm not going to mention any names etc" for 2 hours as the current host is either to fawningly in awe or too afraid to interupt Regal, nevermind challenge him on obvious bullshite like his explanation of for being suspended at the height of his Raw GM push. I'd even take Conrad at this stage!

  11. I started watching Homeland (on S3 now) and it's pretty much a hate watch now to see what obviously stupid thing Carrie will do and somehow get away with next. Brodie's perma sourfaced daughter can get the boat too.

  12. Yeah JR mentioned on the pod after some innocuous question about if he called Steve Austin to just chat after Austin walked out in 2002. JR then went on a slighly mad rant about 'how nobody ever calls and asks how he is' and then went into detail about how his foot cancer is gone but the wound isn;t healing, is the size of an orange and is still really sore. Felt kinda sorry for him, he seems fucking miserable and has had a rough few years losing the wife and all.

Still, he's clearly not up to live TV anymore and shifting him to the taped show would be ideal.

  13. Had a slight cough and tight chest today and then was a bit lightheaded in work this afternoon so decided on off chance to test myself. Sure enough 2 positive antigens. I only had it at the end of March previously too. Another week of hiding away in store for me. Poxy.

  14. Watched David Simon's lastest endeavour 'We Own this City' (based on a true story) and thought it was middling, though Jon Bernthal as Sgt Jenkins was excellent in fairness.

I read the book show was based on last year and didn't find it great either. Most enjoyable part of the show was spotting all the former Wire actors popping up.

  15. Our new manager says 'pacifically' when he means 'specifically' and I've already lost all respect for him. I also can't focus on anything that's being said at meetings cos I'm just waiting for him to say it again.
