Gave evidence to the investigation team on Tuesday regarding my on going situation, sent a load of supporting evidence, so hopefully that will get looked at. gawd knows what the end result will be. I'm utterly down about the whole thing to be honest.
In the interim I'm off work again because i fell and have utterly buggered my shoulder last Thursday. Fortunately nothing broken or dislocated, but a week later I'm still in agony. Someone's mentioned a cuff tear, is that serious? Ordered a shoulder support and asked work for any software /physio support that can help get me back to work.
I absolutely hate this year with a passion and would love something to be straightforward and not have 64 billion tonnes of additional stress. The other half's business nearly went to the wall the other week and we're both in need of extended rest, but have to keep working to pay bills etc.
I'm so very frustrated at the moment.

Wasn't too sure whether to post here or the Transformers thread but ultimately his body of work is more than just Transformers despite voicing some of the big names from the cartoon.
At the age of 90 voice actor Jack Angel has passed away.
Did loads of voice over work, and was the voice of Teddy in AI too.
Going to be bereft when Peter Cullen et al go

I liked it from the start, very inventive and loved that the champion of the district (forgot his number) ended up being a complete and massive douchebag.
I got the twist with 001 early on and the same with the cops brother.
I was also saddened that the organ harvesting subplot didnt go anywhere. Who set the trapdoors in the furnaces and gathered the equipment? how did they know the doctor would be in that particular game. Had this happened in previous games?
It was much fun and the tug of war was superbly done, but I did feel it disappeared up it's own arse a bit towards the end borrowing glibly from Lost and others.
I felt that there was more to come with the possible lesbian subplot and both of their back stories were never resolved that satisfactorily during the games, only afterwards.
The Battle Royal II set up at the end also was jarring as the whole thing was set up to be an allegory for how shit society is to those less fortunate and I hope it doesn't go full on guns guns guns in any sequel.
Definitely keen to revisit it to see what I've missed though, one of the best things for ages.

I see fake tiny soldier Mark Francois wants to bring in “David’s Law” regarding online anonymous abuse. Even though Amess wasn’t stabbed or abused by an anonymous person. I can’t understand why he’s so keen to get anonymous sources for stuff outlawed when they break stories that other news outlets don’t. Like when a Tory MP was suspended from the house for being investigated for rape.
It'd also put lots of people at risk, enabling easier cyberstalking of individuals and further crimes off the back of that.
Those involved in careers that could fall foul of this, including health workers, cops, teachers and yhe rest would have no outlet. It would also likely break the rights to Privacy under the Human Rights Act.
Aside from that, with this government what could possibly go wrong... 👀

The key here is accusations. Any safeguarding team is going to find proving anything tricky unless there is physical evidence. If someone was got rid of for an accusation I suspect there is a legal precedence for claiming unfair dismissal. This is why so many companies will be reluctant to bin off the accused if they are contracted which I'm unsure if most UK guys are? Plus safeguarding only applies to people who are technically vulnerable due to age, illness or incapacity.
That said, its a shit situation for these poor women who don't get the justice they deserve.
What do other people think would be workable so that victims get justice and accused get a fair hearing? I'm not talking legalities (that's passed in this thread) but the practicalities.
I personally feel stumped w this. I have this horrible tension between believing victims (they have been treated badly enough by police etc without me adding to it!) and sticking w my ethical position of innocent till proven guilty.
How do we wrestle w this?
Simply, they need to be aware to investigate.
Up here it is a hot topic, recently there was someone running a men's charity /help thing and got sent down for ages.
He was trusted because of his past and fell past a load of safeguards because of that.
Actually knowing some of the people affected by what's happened in this I had to report it.

Is anyone off to Replay Blackpool at the weekend??
-
Sadly it must be time for those involved in this to resurface. Reported another to a safeguarding team regarding something they really shouldn't be doing given the accusations involved.

Alan Hawkshaw that composed the themes to Grange Hill (And Give Us A Clue), Countdown, Channel 4 News, and probably more has passed away at the age of 84.

Sad times, got into listening to Grandstand theme a lot a while back, that lead me to finding the KPM Allstar gigs, where his Hammond Organ stuff is amazing.
Wrote all sorts of themes and library music. Hells Angels on Speed and Excitement is excellent. Wrote thebLove Hurts theme sung by Peter Polycarpou as well.
Loads of work for charity and his daughter was lead singer of Opus III.

Most of the even-numbered Treks are better than the Motion Picture. For me, the three best are First Contact, Undiscovered Country, and Wrath of Khan. Nemesis isn't amazing, but I think it's a lot better than it gets credit for. And The Voyage Home isn't really very good; apart from "nuclear wessels", there's very little memorable about it.
Came to post something similar re Trek. Especially Undiscovered Country and First Contact.
Regarding other sequels not already mentioned.
22 Jump Street is better than 21 Jump Street.
Batman Returns has been mentioned??
How to Train Your Dragon 2.
I love Robocop 2, but maybe the only person who dies, same with Predator 2.
Cracking thread so far

Update on my previous issues.
So, the saga continues. Finished sick and on Annual Leave til next week.
However, they've sent an invitation to tender out this week for due diligence and compliance, which 'totally' 'not related' to my current role, much
I get they didnt want me after doing all the heavy lifting for them, but that's low, for anyone right?
They've not even contacted me to ask if I'm coming back or if im ok..
Anyhoo my side projects funding is nearly up, I've enough til last til December ish, the dilemma is do i go back and negotiate a payoff as can demonstrably show improvements etc, and then concentrate on my side gig and make that my main role, or do I go back and head down hope for the best?

My work were being dodgy as fuck today.
I'm a primary school teacher and regularly take lateral flow tests for my work.
I've had a cold all week which I'm now sure has developed into a chest infection (I get a couple of chest infections every Autumn/Winter so generally know when I'm getting one) so phoned the Dr's at playtime to ask for some antibiotics. Dr asked if I've had a PCR test to rule out covid and that they won't give me antibiotics until I've had one so I'll need to get tested. Spoke to management at work explaining that Dr has said I need to get a PCR, management said that although I've been told to book one I should wait until after school finishes and book it then because "once you've booked it you need to isolate and we don't have anyone to cover your class if you book it now".
Booked my test and and went and had it (enjoyable as always) and work have told me to come in tomorrow even if I've not got my results back because, again, I'm sure it s a chest infection.
I'm not going to go in tomorrow anyway cos I just don't feel comfortable doing it without getting my test results. I've also looked online and various places say that symptoms for the double vaccinated can be very cold like which has put a worry in my mind that there's a chance it could be covid.
Hope it's not the Covid and your work sound knob for promoting presenteeism over health of staff and students.
Did it used to be a Cotton Mill?
No, then fuck their guilt tripping bollocks
Reccord everything bcc yourself into everything , contact your union/ Acas hope you're well soon

I've never really been into books too much but I've been collecting nice coffee table style ones over the past few years. Most of them are retro gaming, arcades etc. The subject matter just gives itself to some spectacular visuals and really interesting interviews etc. I find myself backing a lot of projects on Kickstarter for that sort of thing. They generally end up being great quality and a lot of effort goes into them. Read Only Memory do some excellent ones.
Other than books I think the last one I backed was a history of arcades documentary which I'm looking forward to seeing.
Andrew Fisher and Chris Wilkins are names I look out for, they both put together some sterling work and in Chris' case has as far as I know removed The Laird's shite from any of his works.
Recently read US Gold and Ocean stuff and was capitvated.
I do have to mention that I used to write for Chris' Retrofusion Website aeons ago as a way ofd eclaring conflicts of interest.

Saw a worrying/interesting statistic on Sky Sports News this morning where apparently 13 of the Premier league club have reported that fewer than 50% of their players have been fully vaccinated. Apparently the only club where all the players are vaccinated is Wolves. Brentford and Leeds say they're over 90%
We've got a few Anti Vaxxers and our boss Nigel Pearson has just positived for Covid a 2nd time. I'm assuming it's different variants, however it does seem to be making a beeline for those who already had it at the mo...

Smashed it, been offered the job. I'm not used to feeling so positive, it's weird.
I'm also so used to redundancy that I don't think I've given my notice of resignation since about 1998. Do you still have to do it on parchment with a quill?
Fantastic news!!
I thought you still had to sign resignations in the blood of you co workers still??

Fantastic. I wonder what is behind the small following of Ghanaian Villa fans? Unless they're one of the huge clubs, it's usually because of a past player or two. George Boateng?

The fact that nobody here names the character speaks volumes. It’s a cameo.
Imaginatively, the character was called 'Eddie' https://gameofthrones.fandom.com/wiki/Eddie
Awful character, injected soley to bring more of the songs from the books to life ( not because of Ed Sheeran) lip service to book fans only.

Many commiserations. Having lived on that stretch of coast for most of my life, domestic holidays should've been more underwhelming, but other seaside towns always seemed to have a lot more going on and at least the water looked and felt cleaner.
Yip, other seaside towns had more to offer. Repeat trips to Brean Downs, also we're a highlight Yuk! . At least all that time in Weston wasn't wasted, sent some stuff for an arcade research ages ago about the evolution of Olympia Arcade, Mr. Bs Dolphin Market Fishbar, and Weston In-Shops, amongst other things. Me mum had her offices in Weston at one point when she was doing her whole home care thing.
Apparently Dolphin has been knocked down, Did Weston notice??

Ed Sheeran was a cameo in one scene and had less than 5 lines. He wasn't even a proper character.
Stannis is an absolutely great character with some of the best scenes in the show. The war his character declares is one of the main plot points for seasons 2 to 5 and the aftermath and wider effects are all over seasons 6 and 7. Just because he fails in his quest hardly makes his character pointless.
Also, calling Danearys a "cowbag", kinda weird and not sure what that means.
Ed had enough of a presence to get a mention in the last season, So I'm standing by that.
'Cowbag' is an extension of the insult of 'Cow' and it's used in the meaning of annoying. She's an awful character in Thrones.
Stannis being a major character or not doesnt save him from being awful either. As you mention he is just a plot device. No redeeming features whatsoever and no need. Gendry had more presence for the love of humanity.
Talking Pictures is the greatest TV channel in history.
