I know someone who goes to university in Bath where Jeremy's iron is chancellor so it could well be him, I'll ask if he bought his dog today.

I saw Goldie yesterday, he was standing shirtless outside a hot yoga studio next to my work, he seemed really cheerful so if he hadn't been sweaty and half naked I would've asked for a pic.

When I was reading this post the word dog must have really stuck in my mind as I read the 2nd part because when I read the words "I saw Goldie yesterday" I immediately thought of the Blue Peter dog. "Standing shirtless" jolted me back to reality.

I suppose if Goldie had been seen outside a hot yoga studio that would have to be in the Fortean thread these days.

Somewhere I think I still have a piece of the camera Dino Scarlo "smashed" during his match at High School Hell (I think it's a bit of the lens cap, my memory on the specifics is hazy at best as I was about 15), as we were sat pretty much in the front row (had front row tickets, got moved for what I believe were trainees for a necessary dive into the audience spot). That was my first FWA show, got to a fair few after that, including Revival.

EDIT: Thinking about it, I also have a copy of the programme from Revival, and some other bits somewhere, will see what I can dig out at the weekend.

My nephew still has quite a large chunk of the garden gnome that Ulf Herman placed between Paul Travell's (I think) legs and smashed with a spade at one of the Broxbourne shows. That is some niche memorabilia.

  3. Been looking forward to this fight since the semi-finals, both of which were good fights in their own right, but as either wand or egg said at the time didn't have any real drama or momentum shifts to make them great fights. This has potential to follow a similar pattern to the semi-finals but either way it should be a cracking watch. If I was picking a winner right now I'd say Usyk,  but my record of correct predictions all the way through this thread isn't great.

Someone had quoted it and I couldn’t view it. Clicked on the tweet and that’s how I found out.

Getting blocked by Swann is ace. Great spinner but a pompous little twat of a man.

Discovered today that I've been blocked by Richard Dawkins.

Was that in response to his wonderfully racist tweet about Winchester Cathedral?

  6. Zeuge looked more like an awkward teenager who would be picked 2nd to last for football in PE rather than a pro boxer tonight. He never looked like he wanted to be there and he also looked like he hadn't had a tough training camp. Nice to see Brehmer trying to get a fight with Fielding in the ring afterwards.

Also there was no atmosphere in that arena at all, and there looked to be a lot of empty seats. The German fans that were there were barely making any noise, even at the start of the fight. It just felt like a weird show all round.

    So was Brent, ugh.

Broxbourne holds a special little place in my heart though. Getting off that train and walking up to the venue, stopping halfway at the B&B if I had enough cash to stay there (if not it was the bench at the train station for me) held atmosphere brilliantly and had a great area for pre/mid/post show drinks and Video queues.

Broxbourne was brilliant. One of my favourite memories was watching a 7 year old child F5 his brother into the lake/river and then watching as his mum gave him the bollocking of his life while his dad tried to look angry but was not so secretly incredibly proud.

How many and what were the FWA York Hall shows? I'm sure I missed at least one. From memory I can only think of British Uprising 1&2 and Frontier's of Honor.

That was all at York Hall I think. Which is a bonus because York Hall is a shithole.

  9. The trips to Broxbourne Civic were always a delight. Starting from the round robin tournament at Seasons Beatings where the over enthusiastic use of the smoke machine set off the fire alarm, which lead to a chant of "We're not leaving" right through to Crunch in 2006 didn't miss a Broxbourne show. Went to all the main shows and lots of the smaller ones. I was one of the 8 people SBA talks about at the matinee show at Cleethorpes, and one of the 30-50 for the evening show and the next night at Sheffield. It was fun while it lasted but in reality 2 things scuppered it from a fans point of view. The insistence of the FWA at taking 3 months off hurt them at the end of each year. Then 1PW came along and started putting so many imports on it's shows the FWA could no longer charge a premium price for front row tickets to see the likes of EZ Money. On the whole pretty much every penny was worth it though and you can see the fruits of it in British Wrestling today.

  10. For once Trump is not wrong in either of his statements. Politically the UK is in turmoil, and there is no doubt that him and Boris will be friends.

These Thai lads getting rescued is a blessing for May. Its knocked her problems down the pecking order of the news.

Isn't it terrible how despite the tories being so utterly shit, they're still ahead of Labour in the polls?

It's a combination of some truly heroic work by the right wing newspapers and Corbyn only opening his mouth to change feet. Throw in a smidgin of the fact that Labour are equally divided over Brexit and that keeps the Tories in the lead.

  12. Misawa died from a high angle suplex that dropped him on his neck and it changed nothing. Hiromu breaking his neck taking that move will change nothing. Ospreay will never change. We are in the high impact era right now, and for good or ill, it will not change.

  13. Fish Eyes had said that if BJS fights DeGale it would be a Catchweight fight so neither of them could lose their title. I have no interest in that fight if it's not for a title as that would just be ridiculous. DeGale doesn't want to fight the mandatory Jose Uzcategui who is a bit of a beast. This is his bullshit way of trying to claim that he is still in the mix at Super Middleweight when he isn't.
