Axl Rose.
Forefront of one of the worlds biggest bands in the 80s and 90s, songwriter, incredible vocalist and frontman.
Just a disaster of law suits, sexual assault claims, arrests and being constantly hated by everyone he worked with.
By all accounts his youth was pretty messed up, but he took the "wild rocker" persona way too far at times in the 80s and while in recent years he's turned most his attention to criticism of Donald Trump, it doesn't make up for years of just blatantly doing it all for the money at the expense of a fan base that gave way too much support to how he really was.

He'd probably be NWA champ within a year too. He does fit that territory feel where nothing is too flashy, its very house show, local venue type matches and having Scarlett next to him instantly has marketability factors for the NWA and Billy Corgan.

I feel like there was a market at one point for Lucha Underground to have won best TV show one year.
Hokey? Yes. Gimmicky? Yes. But always a fun watch and made me interested in people I previously wouldn't have cared less about? Absolutely.
It was colourful and bright but also dark and dreary, the bad guys were proper bad guys, you wanted the underdogs to win and at times it was more confusing than Lost.
Maybe due to its TV drama aspect it got overlooked to the NXTs of the time but it absolutely could and should have won at least once.

I love International week points wise. Even if the bloody Scottish fumbled.
Few games there that I'm surprised I didn't make it to the magic 20+

I am expecting a 2 tier subscription system for Netflix (which in reality is more like 4) where you sub for WWE as an additional pay wall on the Netflix main site.
At least then theres more chance of classic Network material showing up if they can get value from it. Without that we're probbaly just getting current shows, documentaries and PLE's.
It will be interesting to see how the UI looks though. They need a way should that content be uploaded of making it accessible to search for certain items as theres a lot of 90s WCW insanity I'd rather not have to attempt to scroll past to get to something a little more refined.

2 Hour Raws, Bret Hart, the bad guys trying to fight commentators and using Goldberg to get heat while a bunhch of oddball outcasts have become beloved and a gothic demon is being turned on by his disciples. And theres a PPV called Bad Blood and Hell In A Cell. Its all the best parts of the Attitude era into one just before Netflix.
In truth it was a solid episode of RAW again and what they needed for what feels like a big week for the company.
The friendship bracelet I find funny that they've adjusted the colours slightly so that they can avoid litigation about intellectual design so thats WWE at its finest but that's all I care to mention about a wristband that's had more storylines than The Street Profits this year.
The Wyatt Sicks continues to massively impress me. Maybe all the bells and whistles and smokescreens are able to hide limitations, but Gacy was always a solid ring hand and Lumis did have potential. Easily the most I've been invested in a Nikki Cross push too so that's excellent as she really deserves something for some of the rubbish they gave her.
Uso vs Breaker will be good, especially if Jey tries to spear him and just bounces off and they never try to suggest someone of his size without that much power (Rhino was an exception) should finish a match with a spear again.
Zayn getting close to the big one and losing again will be a shame. Though Survivor Series being announced in Vancouver does make me think he'll be back on the SmackDown Bloodline side of things soon to get that Canadian pop when he shows up as the 5th man. He has to have a World Title reign in him before 2026.
I do see The New Day splitting next week. Something about mentioning 10 years and how they were gonna go for singles gold, it just feels that this will be Xaviers catalyst for finally stepping out on his own. Especially when The Miz shut him down about his advice as he hadn't been at his level.
Its positive, I enjoyed it. In a few months it'll be cheaper to watch when its on Netflix. All in all, its going as well as it can.

Very sad about the news about James Earl Jones. 93 though is an incredible amount of time for someone always so open about their own health issues.
I think when history looks back in another 50 years time, in the same way that Chaplain and Laurel & Hardy are remembered for Silent film now, Clint Eastwood is remembered for Western's and directors like Hitchcock and Tarrantino are remembered for their own style and quirks James Earl Jones will be remembered as the voice of not just one generation but countless.
It's remarkable for me that for an actor that broke as many boundaries as he did and performed as amazingly as he has (EGOTs are hard to find, even if his was honorary but still deserved) its his voice that stands out as such an important part of media history.
His performance in The Great White Hope was something I studied while looking at Sporting Films during a University module and made me just insanely jealous of anyone that had the chance to witness the play version with him as a lead. The way he had such a gravitas through life, that big booming voice but also just how big of a man he was, his performances had weight to them and his characterisation work of African American men in a time in society where their struggles were so difficult, even the revival of Driving Miss Daisy which got such amazing reviees made me wish I had tried harder to go to West End Shows when I was younger rather than pretend I wasn't interested in theatre.
Field of Dreams was my favourite film growing up despite knowing bugger all about Baseball and I think a lot of it came down to Jones' performance, the bitterness and resentment his character had that turned to warmth just made him feel a safe character and person.
He was an incredible Shakespearean actor. Probably in the same way that UK audiences are so enamoured with the likes of Sir Ian McKellens Shakespeare work, American audiences had him. There was a fantastic full performance of King Lear I watched back when I was looking at on YouTube a few years back that stood out and if you have time and just want to see passion in someones voice and demeanour generations after they first performed there is some just beautiful spoken pieces of Othello he performs on YouTube that has me searching in the hope there is a full video somewhere from his prime.
My generation (I apologise I'll never preyend to be that young again) obviously are gutted that the voice of Mustafa and Darth Vader has gone. It was somewhat poetic that on a day a thread starts up stating that "I've Never Watched Star Wars" its most recognisable voice has gone. In truth I only watched them all a few years back myself, but I always got a smile knowing that one of animations most loyal, proud and pure good characters is also the voice of one of Sci Fis greatest evil, twisted villains.
He seemed like he did so much for the arts in America. After reading about his passing tonight I went back over my old dissertation notes for my Sesame Street dissertation and couldn't believe I forgot he was a part of its creation and seen as one of the first "stars" to then appear on the show. Him counting to 10 in that voice of his, being an African American on TV actually was one of the pieces used on test audiences with the greatest effect and results. The 55th anniversary of Sesame Street is coming up this year and I hope they do something to honour him.
The thing I think I loved most about him though is he seemed like he loved life and what he did. Theres a guest appearance on the Big Bang Theory where he takes Sheldon on a pub crawl that ends up in a Sauna and pranking Carrie Fisher and I always just want to feel that he was really that fun and it wasn't too far away from the truth of the man.
The idea that James Earl Jones absolutely loved Tijuana and that he "loves Star Wars too!" as much as the fanboys tickles me.
This was a man who's legacy comes from the words he spoke. And that he suffered when he was younger with a stutter makes it even more remarkable.
"One of the hardest things in life is having words in your heart that you can't utter."
Probably advice I'll be taking more on board every day.

I don't think he is. Owens genuinely doesn't like him at all based on experiences from the indies and Owens is a close friend of the Young Bucks and Co. So that probably doesn't help.
I'm sure KO would do business with complete professionalism if asked but I really don't think he'd be thrilled about working with him.
To be honest I forgot how close Owens and the Bucks were back when they were doing PWG together.
I just took it on face value that Owens always seems to be switched on in interviews about what he says maybe leading to something.
My apologies.

It does feel like Owens is trying to sow seeds for that with Punk.
Every sound bite from most top names seems to be very "we hadn't really spoke, but we have now and it's good hes back". Owens I'm sure did an interview where he said they don't talk, they have no reason to talk. Wouldn't be the worst plot for a feud that a guy who made his name on the indies when Punk was around originally and then made his WWE name when Punk took his ball and went home that always feels overlooked could turn heel that Punk's back to "steal his thunder". In terms of safe hands as well, Owens would be a good worker who could have those wild brawls like he did with Shane or Roman but not be too taxing on Punk having to bump around or do too much.

Apologies for being a double post wanker but made Sunday Roast for the house and best friends today.
The crackling on the Pork did taste better than it looks. Need to remember to remove it from the meat and give it some extra time next time.
That being said, I've gone back to making portion sizes for Braun Strowman again.
Really happy with how my braised red cabbage and homemade stuffing came out too. Last time both were unbearably dry so progress being made in "Operation Turn Me Into Cinderella" my friends are undertaking. First time not wasting the veg the meat sat on and making a gravy from it after but that could do with a better attempt next time.

Apologies if this is the wrong thread, but I'm incredibly happy that English Teacher won the Mercury Music Prize. Seen them twice this year and had the privilege of having a drink with them after one of those shows. They're really nice people and amazingly talented. The first act from outside London to win it since 2014 too!
Absolutely bloody incredible album too. Had it on repeat all day just to remember the initial release and its still such a slam after slam. The Best Tears Of Your Life is such a great song from it.

The fellow that runs the unofficial San Marino FA account may pump himself into oblivion tonight. Never seen so many caps locked tweets that weren't wrote by Donald Trump or Hogan.

Always say that my home kitchen is my happiest, safest space.
Rough few weeks so mates suggested I get back in the kitchen.
Russled up this homemade cottage pie tonight, mixed with minted peas and new potatoes, garlic green beans and Balsamic glazed roasted broccoli.
I'll never be world class but just feeling happy with how this turned out made my day.

How far can they push the violence on Saturday with it being PPV?
I've thoughts of Bossman vs Taker with Bossman being hung from the cell and with how demonic Swerves mind can be and how unhinged Hangman has become, I do feel someone is getting hung from the cage or something equally as sick and twisted.
A bloodied Swerve stating that Hangman may win battles but truly can never beat him or kill him as he leaves him there essentially to die. They'll be a forever feud the way Orton /Cena is, but it needs a cork in it after this for a while. Hangman has now cost Swerve everything he held dear after Swerve threatened to take away Hangmans whole life. Something has to finish this.

I'd like to put it on record that I was certain that I was going to predict all the scores correctly this weekend.
I actually did a prediction of the Premier League, chucked the Old Firm in this afternoon etc.
I'd currently have 4 points with 2 to play.

Amazing. One of those ideas that’s so good it’ll now be a huge disappointment if it doesn’t happen. Imagine the pop!
Speaking of surprises, I’m not expecting Becky Lynch, but if she was to debut, it’d be here, wouldn’t it?
Naturally I'd say yes.
Question is does she go after Mone/Britt or May/Storm when both belts seem to be of the same importance these days.

Inappropriate conduct regarding a female staff member on the One Show is being reported.
He was dreadful on both so glad to see the back of him if he is a bit of a wrong'un.
