The action in Edwards/Strong was sound, but it was ludicrous over-booking of the worst kind.
Â
The idea of a third fall being "to settle it" once you've established both are fairly evenly-matched by tying the first two - then having said fall be an Iron Man - creating the possibility of MORE "evenness" and necessitating overtime - just over egging the pudding from the outset, and if the concept of the match promised masturbatory booking, it delivered it in spades.

Sting saved Hogan from a Luger and Flair beatdown at Superbrawl 2000 I think.
Â
You think correct sir, leading to Hogan/Flair and Sting/Luger at Uncensored.

Hot on the heels of Kev "hacking" the forum....

"Due to technical difficulties and a security issue, ROH Forum will be offline. We do this to protect our fans and friends' computers from being compromised."

YOU DO IT TO YOURSELF. JUST YOU. YOU AND NO-ONE ELSE.

Sorry my mistake no idea where I got that in my head from, did Carter ever wrestle for ROH in the early days?
Â
Yes. He got choked out by Joe in a four-corners with Matt Stryker and Colt Cabana at Epic Encounter, got pinned by Stryker in a "pure wrestling dream match" at Do Or Die, and pinned Doug Williams at Death Before Dishonor. I believe they stopped booking him because nobody gave a shit. Pity they didn't notice that of Stryker until it was far too late.
Â
Ugh, I feel dirty now.
-
Any reason why he never made it big?
Â
Watching his work as "The Technician" Tom Carter, I'd say it was because he had little in the way of a personality in the ring. His execution was sound but he was about as inspiring as his ring name.

Nope, none of them are me. Tell you what though; whoever is
-
I'll pop in for a bit depending on when the action starts, although I have little to no interest in the PPV as its waaaay past my bedtime.
-
Another excellent evening in chat with forgotten soap operas and kids TV shows and underage porn stars the star topics.
Â
Traci come up again? So to speak?
-
neil is a fucking awesome sport. He's also probably the only person in real life or the 'net that has ever called me a twat, and then I've thought "yeah, that was fair."
-
Apart from butchering the English language was i being harsh?
Â
Huh. I wouldn't have even bothered critiquing the SP&G if I wasn't convinced it was boydy that had made the effort of describing us whatever those posts are about to the rejects' board.

"They love Kevin Nash and old school WCW and seem to think their far cooler than the average wrestling message boarder goer because there lads who like a bit of banter."
Â
"They all have it in their sigs and usually gang up on anyone who disagrees with one of them over TNA or old school WCW which is i think what happened to get the name being banned as they kept ruining threads by turning them into bitching threads against an individual. Sometimes the individual deserved it, sometimes they didn't but i guess it happened one to many times."
Â
Pretty fine epitaph. Although you have used "their" or "there" in place of "they're," failed to capitalize an "I" where necessary - twice - and used "to" instead of "too" in your final sentence.
Â
Decent effort, but you aren't going to get the extra 5% for SP&G.
-
Second this. He's a top lad. He's the second nicest lad from Sunderland on here.
Â
Yup. NEWM always brings the goods whenever there is danger of a wrestling conversation breaking out.

* Discussion of the fallout of the disbanding of the pCc, and whether crawlingwest will be given his old name.
Â
I'm guessing not.
-
You sack of bitches all take this forum far too seriously...
Â
The Icon is right.
-
Sorry to sound like an absolute bellend, but what exactly is 'the pCc' I see on some members' sig, and what do the initials stand for?
Â
It stands for pretentious Cunt clique. It means liking bacon, darts, War Games 1992 and correcting other members' punctuation, and thinking that anyone who doesn't like all of those things is an absolute bellend.

I genuinely use some Fin Martin lines in everyday conversation, to this day. My favourite being "(Ahmed Johnson/Big T) looks like he has been sticking to a strict diet of cake".
Â
In regards to the same wrestler, a PS line I always use when talking about some fatty is "been taking advantage of Tesco's two for one offer on butter pies and lard cakes."
Â
There was another caption which slayed me at the time on a photo of Big (gu)T performing the Pearl River Plunge on IIRC Billy Kidman, which stated "Burgers, pies, dripping, lard.. TAFKA Ahmed Johnson has certainly been tucking in since last we saw him." "Tucking in" just killed me.
Â
I actually think my favourite line was from the letters page, when some lad referred to Nation-era D'Lo as a "tub of guts in a silly hat."

Better late than never, re : Steiners debate.
Â
Their appearances in the bingo hall were (IIRC) in the summer of 1995, making it rather moot whether or not there were any no-compete clauses in their contracts regarding ECW. They didnt show up back in WcW until early 1996. They had left the WWF, as mentioned previous, in April 1994 shortly after Scotty had lost a King of the Ring qualifier to IRS.
-
What about outside fake angles have they ever used the same name twice?
Â
There have been more than one man playing Doink - Matt Borne, Ray Apollo, Steve Lombardi, Steve Keirn, Nick Dinsmore - but none of them have ever been a "fake" Doink, they have all just been "Doink."
-
Have WWE ever given two wrestlers the same name bcause they owned the copyright for the name?
Â
There have been two Undertakers, two men calling themselves "The Rock," two Razor Ramons, two Diesels.....
Â
... and of course, at least six Ultimate Warriors.

Cheers fellas, I forgot he mentioned moving up here. Must have him round for port and canapes!
