  1. Can we flood YouTube with disparaging responses on videos that those kids put up titled, "PROOF STING IS COMING TO WWE! The lights make a scorpion, the numbers make 11 and that's how many World titles Sting has held" etc?

If you've got time to kill I suppose, or need to release some pent up frustration on the matter. I'm about to have a wank, it will probably prove more effective.

  2. Hell in a Cell 2010's main event was Undertaker vs Kane, so does that count as the last match where Cena and Orton were on the under card. Randy Orton was in a title match, but that was the second match on the show.

I completely missed that one somehow.

I'd still be interested in what the last one before that was, though.

    WrestleMania 26?

  3. I'd say watch the Raw after Survivors 01 (where the Alliance "died") to see Flair, then switch to PPV only.

HOWEVER you might as well watch the TV between Rumble and Mania every year because most years there are a decent amount of storyline developments to keep things interesting.

    2002 - nWo stuff is quite interesting, especially Rock/Austin v Hogan/Outsiders

2003 - Rock on TV again, Austin on TV again, SmackDown babyfaces v Team Angle in various combinations

2004 - Benoit's choice and matches with Shawn and Evolution, SmackDown rumble/Kurt's turn

2005 - Slow burn on Batista's choice and turn, Cena arriving at last as a main eventer

2006 - Well, at the very least the Raw where Tripper tells Cena "you happen to be not a very good wrestler."

2007 - ok, I wasn't watching much, but I bet it was good.

    2008 - ditto

2009 - Some compelling stuff with Michaels/JBL, build to Michaels/Taker, and I thought the Raw after No Way Out was awesome.

2010 - you probably know about this...

  4. Of course people are still speculating. That's the point of the videos being vague. If they didn't want speculation, they'd put up a graphic saying "Undertaker returns next week". This way, even though most people are pretty sure it's The Undertaker, the speculation might make people tune in to see if it's quite that simple. Also the fact that it might not be just The Undertaker, if it is The Undertaker makes it more interesting. It's very clever.

It also wouldn't be the first time The Undertaker had returned and not been The Undertaker ;)

I said nothing of the sort, not in this thread, not yesterday at 6:05pm, and I'm fairly sure not at all.

I have no idea what you hope to gain by besmirching my good name sir, but - BY GOLLY! - you won't get away with it.

  5. hbk vs taker 3 oh my lord or hbk vs sting w00tness

Am I the only one that took his words about honouring "his word to the Undertaker" etc to heart, and really hope Shawn DOESNT wrestle again?

He went out on top at a Mania main event against one of his few peers, in a superb match. Why tarnish that? Plus from reading his Twitter he seems to genuinely love retirement.

    Let go. He has.

  6. He didn't save his money very well then did he? He was on a fair whack in WCW i'd have imagined?

Mind you, a manager at a store is hardly minimum wage either is it?

Compared to Flair, who would you rather be at this point in their respective lives? He'll get himself a decent salary that pays the bills, probably a pension too so he actually gets to retire one day.

Flair will wrestle til the day he dies because he can't afford not to. He'll never know when to stop. He'll carry on til he's dead and he drops.

    He overdid it, doll.

  7. He was advertised for the Smackdown Wrestlemania Revenge Tour last April and wasn't a part of it, plans can change.

World of difference between "lets hype up a tour thats happening months from now with some of the names on the roster" and "lets make some eerie videos which mention a grave to hype up someone returning in three weeks."

If it's anyone other than Undertaker at this point, I'll eat my hat. His hat. The hats of anyone that wants to send me their hat.

  8. I reckon this might be the last hurrah from Hunter. He's 41, has a pretty cushty executive job, and has a wifey and three little girls. If you watch the way he's allowed himself to be booked the last two years or so, he seems to be cured of his need to always been in main events, World Champion or chasing the title. He probably no longer cares about eclipsing Flair's record of title reigns (if that ever was a goal, to emulate his one-time idol) after the amount of respect he purportedly lost for Naitch since his spectacular un-retiring.

Guys a family man thus understandably shouldnt want - or given his current job, need - to tax himself with a road schedule or risk any further injury by having many more matches. A mate of mine reckons his heart may have gone out of performing a little now Shawn is gone, and I could understand that too.

Having said that, the small number of matches I reckon Trips will have left, given the respect that seems to run through the old guard - especially those like Hunter and Taker who were in the WWF pre-Attitude, and have seen it all, I fully expect them to butt heads one last time, and I actually expect one to have their last match in the company by wrestling the other.

Or Cena. Hey! They could turn Cena heel. But that would be dumb. Or would it? BLAH BLAH BLAH

  9. Was that Terry Taylor vs El Matador match from the Vintage Collection this week the one that was featured on the old "WWF Grudge Matches" tape? Taylor got quite the face reaction during that bout. Poor Tito. :(

Looking at the synopsis on the EPG where Im sure it said Typhoon v Kamala and Shawn v Backlund, it was ALL ripped from that tape.

Fun fact! That match aired on the 26th Oct 92 Prime Time and was actually taped October 12th in Saskatoon.... the same day Bret took the WWF title off the Nature Boy.

  10. I've been simultaneously re-reading both Bret and Shawn's books on the loo (crossing over to read each mans version of certain events) and I found the whole chapter about Bret's sabbatical after WrestleMania XI, negotiations with Bischoff (which at the time I had no idea had happened) and eventual WWF comeback fascinating so I had to dig this out, his return interview from the 21st October 96 Raw :

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=52orPCIOGKM...E7A9F1B6DF3CD82

Amazing how much of what Bret says here is rooted in truth rather than a "wrestling promo," great watching Vince's reactions, and while I'd remembered what Bret said about WcW, HBK and Steve Austin, I'd completely forgotten that he told that story about his nephew Matt on tv.

  11. I'm not sure about the date or anything, but it was definitely at Elks Lodge in NYC.

You're right, I was getting mixed up with November to Remember, the first PPV since Raven's return, where he Dreamer and Sandy came out to consecutive super pops to face those darn upstarts, Rhino and the Impact Players.

Feels closer to twenty years ago than ten. :(

  12. even more, test may of been on heat, but WmX8 was corpse free

May HAVE. And Ian has already pointed out Crash appeared on WM XVIII - he won the Hardcore title under the 24/7 rules.

Shit, King of the Ring 99 indeed had no Boss Man indeed. It's that.

  13. Botheration! Give me a minute....

Eddy was then on every PPV til the single brand PPVs.

The "dead" quota is met by Eddy, Test, Benoit, Umaga...

One Night Stand 2006 appears to feature no dead talent unless Balls Mahoney went in the night.

  14. OK, so you can write off Wrestling Classic which had Davey Boy, then any of the ones that had Andre on.

Then any of the ones that had Sherri Martel on it.

Then any of the ones with Yoko on it.

Then any of the ones with Owen. He crosses over with Bossman's second run.

Bossman crosses with Benoit. That takes you up to Benoit's injury in 2001.

    Mike Awesome appears on Invasion.

Test appears on the next run of cards which only breaks at..

WrestleMania 18, which I believe is your winner.

    *NOTES for smartarses :

Yes I realize Sherri wasn't on Survivors 92, but Owen was.

I realize Yoko wasn't on SummerSlam 94, but Owen was.

I realize Owen wasn't on Judgment Day '98 but Hawk was.

I realize neither Owen nor Hawk was on Survivors 98 but Bossman was.
