  1. Last time I looked. I've just never encountered anyone who's seen it that didn't like it. I have, however, met many people that wouldn't even considered watching it.

What is your issue with me?

Actually, apologies, it was Chest Rockwell that last gave me shit. I get you mixed up.

  2. Woah, wait a sec. There are people that didn't like Dark Night Rises? That's blown my mind. I'm no film expert, admittedly, and I've always been more of a Marvel than DC fan, but Dark Night Rises was just an awesome film in its own right, without the comic book link.

I've heard a, hopefully bollocks, rumour today the Robert Downey Jr won't be playing Iron Man in Avengers 2. Can anyone quash this quickly, please?

  3. Video shop multiple re-rental for me as a kid. But of the million FUCKING ACE things on the show, what's best out of this lot, because I change my mind every day.

    - The Powerplex

    - Mental Sherri

    - Goldigger Saffire

    - Perfect and Heenan going spastic

    - Hebner's shirt getting torn

    - Earthquake getting his back murdered

    - Piper hates Warrior on commentary

    Fabulous PPV.

    You've missed the best bit!

Piper : 'The Legion of Doom have come to figure it out'

August 29th 1990 was the day I fell in love with the WWF. A day that would eventually lead to me being a 'god awful poster' on this forum. Unlucky.

That Hart Foundation vs Demolition match was awesome. 2 out of 3 falls. Only two members of Demolition allowed at ringside. Demo, quite convincingly, go one up. Then get DQ'd in the second. I thought the match would be thrown out because, as we all know, titles can't change hands on a DQ. But, no, apparently it doesn't count in a best of 3!

So, in the 3rd, Ax comes and hides under the ring! Bret already thought that it would be the two most experienced members of Demolition anyway. The pull off the switcheroo a couple of times. But the LOD are having non of it. Schoolboy trip over the ropes, and The Harts are holding the straps. Lovely.

In the post match interview, Hawk is stroking Neidhart's goatee! I honestly thought they were bezzies!

Props to the points mentioned above though. And that Sherri quote. She was immense from Mania 6 through 7. And probably longer tbh.

Honorary mention to Hacksaw Jim Duggan and Nikolai Volkoff being the worst tag team ever. Until Hacksaw pulled the same shtick with the Sarge!

  4. Punks on enough money that any increase in pay would have no real effect on living standards. He's at the end of the payscale where the only two steps he has left to go are 'CENA' and, then, 'ROCK' and the second coming of Christ and his eventual heel turn wouldn't even bump Punk's pay that much.

You can never earn too much money.

  5. I just watched the Brock/Cena brawl from the week after Brock returned. I never realised before but, after the camera focuses on Cena with his bloodied smirk, when he charges and jumps at Lesnar, Lesnar catches him in one arm and just fucking pancakes him. It's so badass.

    God, I love Brock Lesnar.

Plus, I know people don't really like Punk here (and, yes, he is a miserable arse with an inflated sense of his own importance) but I think what he said was absolutely fine. He said that he's not trying to better previous matches because this match is going to exist within its own context which doesn't necessarily suit the pure wrestling style that gets the plaudits in the same way as HBK/Taker matches. They've got a hyper-personal narrative, so surely 'Taker isn't going to want to wrestle Punk. He's going to want to fucking batter him.

And, as for The Rock/Lesnar deals he talks about. He's bang on, isn't he?

No matter how good for business it is, or how much sense it made, if someone came in to do a job I do all year round for 15 days and got paid the same (if not more) as me i'd be aggrieved. I'd probably begrudgingly accept its necessity but, yeah, i'd be at least a little resentful and would probably try to work out how I could do what they do, too.

He didn't say anything that controversial.

You're right in what you say, and I don't think that Punk was that controversial in that he was just laying his cards on the table.

But as far as your analogy goes, what if that person coming in and working less hours, was increasing productivity to the point where you got paid more as a result?

  6. Just watching the Best PPV Matches 09/10. What was the crack with Cena throwing Edge into the front row during the Backlash '09 LMS match? Were they all plants? It didn't look like like they intended to catch Edge if so. Was Cena meant to just drop Edge over the rail? Or did Cena actually throw Edge the wrong way? If so, was there any comeback from the crowd? One guy was down all the while the camera stayed on the incident.

  7. Thought I'd bang this in here, sorry to disrupt the flow of the thread.

I've got some early issues of Fantastic Four (44-47, 58-59, 94,97-98 and various issues in the 200's) and wondered if anyone has tried selling any comics before? I haven't got time to go down the ebay route, and tbh would rather keep them than sell them for a couple of quid to some chancer. I've google searched, but can't find anything useful in the UK. I'm not desperate to get rid, but I'd like to see them serving some purpose than stashed away in my office.

Anyone any ideas? If not, as you were......

  8. Shame you don't know the difference between an interesting post and white noise dribble, though.

Your posts range from one to the other. Which would suggest it was you that can't tell the difference. I was just pointing out that your, and the other guy's, wording, was misleading.

I only post on here at the odd time because most of the time my thoughts are already covered, I try not to use cliches, I like to think for myself.

  9. I'm reading nothing about Bully Ray leaving. And the TV suggests he won't be. Everywhere (including the Observer) is saying Devon is done and Bully is more than certain to resign. Which has been the case for weeks. They see Bully as someone who they want to sign to a real contract and they only want to sign Devon to a pay per appearance deal, because is isn't half as valuable as Bully is. You only need to see their roles on TV to see who is more likely to be staying. They've hardly used Devon in a matches for weeks and Bully is apart of their main storyline.

We've preatty much read the same story but from different sites who have reported it differently. I.e. whereas yours have said "bully ray is likely to resign" mine simply says "bully ray has not resigned yet and may leave."

Read it from tpww.net initially and then from a site I think is called ringsideseats.com

If you two could just manage to put a hyphen in the right place, your posts would make much more sense. Unless, of course, Bully Ray is giving his notice in.

  10. All 3 members of my family have come out of various rooms in the house to find out what I'm laughing at. I tried to explain but had to stop reading allowed during Ian's Black & Decker post.....

  11. Can you get Wresting Observer for the Kindle? Just got one for Christmas and I'm sure I've heard it mentioned on here, but all I can find are a few 2010 issues of F4W.

Any other Kindle wrestling books / newsletters anyone can recommend? I've got all the mainstream WWE books, I notice a Randy Savage bio on there, anyone know if that's any good?
