First of all, thanks for this thread. I hadn't seen any of Matt Smith's Doctor as of April this year. I made it my 'jumping on point', and a set off on a mission to catch up by the Anniversary show. I did it with about 5 hours to spare! I've been reading this thread as I watched, to flesh out what was going on. Some great debate, especially between
d-d-daz and Vamp.
Â
I never thought I'd ever shed a tear at Dr Who, but I did just that on Rory & Amy's exit. There was little not to enjoy throughout his whole tenure, though I found the second half of Season 7 a bit of a let down after the first half. Although it was helped my Jenna Louise Coleman being absolutely gorgeous!
Â
I made the mistake of watching last nights after I'd finished work last night, at around half past midnight, in the knowledge that I was up again at 6, which probably spoiled my enjoyment a tad. As an episode it was great, but I felt a little let down by the use of Hurt's Doctor. I was expecting a ramped up, evil Doctor, and instead we got just another Doctor, to me.
Â
Anyway, I popped on her to address the regeneration thing. I actually got to thinking today that it'd be quite cool if Hurts Doctor was the official ninth Doctor, and he was limited to 13 regenerations. I know all of a sudden this puts a limit on the series, but I thought it may add another dimension ('scuse the pun) to the character and storylines if this was it. But then again, I suppose The doctor doesn't like endings...
Â
Anyway, a massive thumbs up from me, I'm going to have to go back to watching wrestling now that I've got caught up!

WWE Euroshop is back: http://euroshop.wwe.com/
Â
Presumably they'll be selling the shite quality English sized shirts that are available at the events over here.
-
Ok, whomever was originally gonna be the third giant was canned because he was shit. To explain why Hogan was a giant they called him the true giant of wrestling. Just ask the nasally sounding bloke who voiced Wrestlecall.
-
Haystacks was originally going to be the third giant, but they realised he was shit so replaced him with Hogan. They used the excuse that he was 'the' giant of wrestling.
Â
That what Wrestlecall on 0836306971 said, anyway.
-
I ordered 8 the other week, when they were buy one, get one half price. The shirts came to $140 but then there was another $90 in shipping and taxes. Pretty steep increase, but still only works out at about

It's fine. Most wrestling fans appreciate that they are wrestling fans and don't think that wrestling occurs outside of your 'real life'.
-
I suppose it depends on how big an American wrestling fan you are. (You're more of a Mexican guy I believe?). I love any wrestling bio, just to remind me of what was going on at the time. Hart's is my favourite, but I'm a massive Hart mark.
-
Nah mate, assuming it's the same as Mania Axxess it's all included. I'd take a few quid to fill your boots with merch though, save queuing on the day!
-
Are you maybe thinking of Southern Justice from WWF? That was The Godwinn's trying to be serious.
-
You miss my point, as ever. But to save two days of folks posting shite on here, I'll accept full responsibility for not being capable of making my point. Or something. I'm off to bed.
-
Dunno really. Being honest, I tried to list some names earlier that I didn't like because they were sleazy characters, and it looked like I was being homophobic! Genius, Goldust, and Rico were the three that came to mind. The only one I could think of that bucked the trend slightly was Perfect when he was doing the 'steal Triple H's girl' thing, which ultimately led to him siding with Trips. It's not exclusive to wrestling for me. I don't like people with an over inflated sense of self importance in any walk of life. When Curtis rocked up with the Fandango gimmick, I thought this ain't gonna last. And when it appeared to be quietly dropped, I wasn't surprised. Then when he originally reappeared for the Jericho Mania match, I thought it was a short lived gimmick, to put him against the Dancing With the Stars guy. I still stand by it being a short lived gimmick. I am surprised how over he's got it though. The injury may have come at a bad time for him, because I can see him getting overlooked in his return, when he may have been going to take the IC title.
-
No, we're not meant to like Fandango because he's a sleazy character. I just don't like sleazy characters full stop. A lot of folk on here love him because he's a sleazy character. Which adds up to me.You're not meant to.
-
Lol, nice one. I only mentioned him in one post before. And I stick by what I said. That his WrestleMania match with Jericho would soon be forgotten. I'm surprised by how over he's got, but I still don't like sleazy characters. Sorry and all that.
-
Fair enough, I don't read that part of the forum. I'm just relieved that not everyone has me on ignore.
There's a fair few people that met him yesterday that think he's a dick. Personally, I didn't have that experience. It seems to me that the people who are saying Cabana is ok are the people that have met him and the folks saying he's a dick are basing their opinion on other people's opinion.
-
It seems to me that the people who are saying Cabana is ok are the people that have met him and the folks saying he's a dick are basing their opinion on other people's opinion. For the record I only know him as jobber Scotty Goldman and C.M. Punk's mate who was ringside at MITB '11.
-
The guy was 93. When someone passes at that age, you celebrate the life as well as mourning the loss.
-
Ah, sound. As you were. I'll go back to keeping my mouth shut. Bryan was awesome, though. I'm guessing (hoping) that they were headed for a heel turn, but changed their minds due to his performances. Also, has Cody Rhodes stock fallen of late?
-
What's the crack with this thread and Smackdown spoilers? I'm not bothered, like, I've just taken to avoiding it until I've watched SD. Is it worth changing the subtitle though? Or am I misunderstanding the spoiler rules?
-
More of a question of opinion, but me and my mate are contemplating going over to New Orleans next year to go to the Raw after Wrestlemania. We can't afford Mania, but after this years Raw-after-Mania we both really want to go. But we're worried that it'll just be a depressing trip cos it'd be full of fans that were at the Big One and we'd get pissed that we weren't there too. Would you go over to America just to do the post-Mania Raw?
Â
I'm a tad confused by this. For what reason would you spend a grand or so going to a Raw show, and not pay an extra couple of hundred quid for another night and a Mania ticket?
-
Oh yeah, from a behind the scenes point of view they both needed something to do. Especially Sherri as there was no women's division at the time, in fact after the mixed tag match at Mania 6 I don't think she wrestled again until Luna rocked up 3 years later. And they were the perfect fit at the time too. Sherri had 'lost her meal ticket' in Savage and Dibiase was minted. I just don't think there was ever a back story to it.
Â
Love that Piper / Virgil reference.
-
As a kid, I imagined that Vlad was PWI's 'WWE expert Thomas Pilliard'. Did Pilliard exist, or was he as imaginary as Eddie Ellner and Brandi Mankiewicz?
-
Dustin Rhodes is dead sound and his the biggest hands I've ever seen.
Â
Any chance you've met Harley Race or Randy Orton?
Â
They had big paws.
Â
I've met Race and Dustin. Race had the firmest handshake ever, but the biggest paws award goes to Billy Gunn. Shovels I'm telling you!

Apparently the latest is that Rey is advertised for the Raw after Money In The Bank, but don't get used to him being back long, I'll guarantee he will be injured again within 6 weeks of being back.
Â
Are you planning a run in in those next six weeks?
Â
It'll be interesting to see how much of the core audience give a toss when Bourne returns.Â
I don't think he was a big enough presence for this long an absence to have benefitted him, or built anticipation. I reckon most will have forgotten him, or moved on.
Â
Plus, he's got one shot left before he's sacked right?
Â
Yeah, I don't think he's gonna last too long.
Â
Has Bourne failed wellness?

Cheers for the replies re RDJ and Avengers, I was involved in a conversation about The Avengers yesterday and it was agreed that he made the character. The kid who brought up him asking for too much money had probably heard the April Fools joke and took it in.
Â
Which then got me thinking (off topic) that I didn't even notice April Fools this year. Which suggests I either didn't see any, or just believed them all....
Â
Interesting views on Dark Night Rises. I just remember really enjoying it from start to finish. I am easily pleased though.

Yeah, I think his point was that Cena has never been Champion whilst there was only one belt.
