    Lord LittlebrookĀ

Absolutely terrorized Jack Victory & Rip Morgan when he managed the New Zealand Militia and later the Royal Family. Ā Jacko and Ripper daren'tĀ cross his Lordship, even thoough they had the two on odd ones should they have wanted to. Ā Also was fearless standing up to King Kong Bundy at Wrestlemania III. Ā Folks knew not to try Lord Littlebrook!

Anyone who "nailed Bundy right in the Boiler" is pretty damn hard in my book!Ā

This is driving me mad. What is the promo video where there is the really dramatic trumpet music playing (yes I know this narrows it down)? I want to say it's a Bret package, and the music goes DER-DER-DER DEEEEEEER, and they used the music more than once. It's doing my head in.

    King of the Ring?

Thats fucking crazy. Wonder did stuff like this happen to wrestlers during the boom years in 80s & 90s and it just never came out? or is it social media driven where these nutters think they have a connection with stars cos they retweeted them once or whatever? she had a lucky escape anyway.

Back in 1982 you had Michael Fagan who managed to get into the Queen's bedroom, the guy who took a shot at Princess Anne (I think) and so many others. I used to work for Queen (the rock band) and in the 80s there was a guy who broke into their Notting Hill offices with a samurai sword looking for Freddie (that I don't think even made the papers) In recent years there was a guy who was caught with a 'rape kit' trying to attack Steven Spielberg and the couple caught breaking into Taylor Swifts properties.

As for the 80s and 90s - one of the reason I think it didn't happen was even the crazies wouldn't take on the wrestlers who were crazier (and coked and 'roided up) than them. Can you imagine someone stalking Elizabeth and then coming face to face with Randy? Or a nutter going after Missy and meeting Eddie Gilbert? Let alone trying to stalk Rick Rude, Haku and countless others - the thing is, wrestlers these days just don't install fear into anyone.Ā

  4. I'll add as well that if you're looking for a good read then his book 'Kamala Talks' is well worth picking up. To be honest I wasn't expecting much from it, but it's one of my favourite wrestling autobiographies.

  5. News filtering in that James Harris aka Kamala has passed away. Very sad butĀ not a real shock as he has been in serious ill health for years.Ā

A long time favourite of mine, the man had an amazing career - World of Sport, Memphis, WWF, NWA, WCW, WCCW and so many others, he literally popped up in almost every promotion. In his prime he really came across the biggest, scariest heel. It's a testament to how well he played the character that he managed to get over three decades out of it.

    RIP KamalaĀ

  6. Although Iā€™m not usually one for being a pessimist, I know recent events in the wrestling world have seen many wanting to switch off for good. Combined with the pandemic that has obliterated so much in the entertainment industry, I can sort of understand why there has been this reaction. But ā€“ wrestling has given us all a lot of happiness over the years, so with that in mind letā€™s have a look at the good for a change, and list what has made us so happy.

Being back in my hometown due to the pandemic and being on furlough, has meant that rather than Iā€™ve taken up the daily challenge of walking at least 10km. Pretty easy with the lovely weather. As Iā€™ve been making my way around my small town, Iā€™ve gone past loads of places that I havenā€™t in absolute years. itā€™s taken me right back to my childhood days. The newsagent where I would spunk my pocket money (and lunch money sometimes) on WWF stickers and a huge amount of wrestling mags (remember the days when there seemed to be about 15 different types on the shelves?), the parks where Iā€™d cycle to meet my mates for a kick-about and the exchanging of Silvervision videos. There seemed to be an endless supply of them (Supertape, Wrestlefest, High Flyers etc.etc.) and the PPVā€™s which I would franticly try and get my hands on to say Iā€™d seen every Wrestlemania, Summerslam etc. I remember trying to get my hands on the Royal Rumble 90, which no-one seemed to have. Itā€™s a long way from everything being available so easily on the Network. Although going down the park was only after Iā€™d caught the edited to shreds version of WCW Worldwide on ITV. Itā€™s also taken me past where Woolworths once stood,Ā where Iā€™d gaze at the racks of Hasbro figures deciding which one I was going to purchase (a major choice when you could only afford about one a month!) and above all the carefree summer months of 1992 when wrestling was the biggest thing in the country, when seemingly every media outlet featured it, there was merchandise everywhere, we were all super-excited for Summerslam in London ā€“ and wrestling was literally all I cared about.

Although I had been a fan for about three years previous, 1992 was when I really fell in love with wrestling. Barring a couple of dips here and there (hello pubs and girls) itā€™s been a love of mine for 30+ years and I think it always will be. So ā€“ what has been your happiest, and fondest, memory of wrestling?

To say that Tony Khan 'outed her' is ridiculous. If anything, Khan's post shows that AEW are taking Covid 19 seriously.

Was he supposed to write "Jon Moxley does not want to come to the tapings" or "Jon Moxley's doctor has told him to stay at home" (without mentioning Covid 19)? šŸ™„

Jon Moxley's got a note from his mum excusing him from wrestling.Ā

He has a well publicised history of violence and violent crime doesn't he?Ā

I'm sure I remember someone once saying something like "he's not a wrestler, he's a thug who gets booked on wresting shows" and it's a perspective I've never seen reason to disagree with.

To be fair - he's never disputed this. He's been very open, and remorseful, about his past history. I'm not excusing it and his past actions,Ā but from what I know in the last 8 years or so he's tried to turn his life around.Ā

Brian Dixon of All Star Wrestling said to have takenĀ upskirting photos of Vicky Haskins back in 2011.

Firstly I'm not defending anything, I'm disgusted by all of this, but this is where problems can occur.

If you read the story Dixon wasn't the one taking the pictures. He didn't have the camera. It's implied he may have asked for those photos toĀ  be taken (which is equally as despicable) but wasn't the person taking the pics, nor is their evidence he even asked for them.

I'm not excusing this behaviour - but unless we can stick to the facts some of these c**ts will get away with it because of inaccuracies levelled against them.Ā Ā

  10. Due to this Lockdown lark, I've been going through the monthly WWF review shows from the 80's on Youtube.

As we all know wrestling is pretty much recycled ideas, and watching these videos it had me thinking which ideas could be re-used these days.

Considering most fans these days haven't been watching for very long, and probably don't have any inclination to watch older stuff, there's plenty of scope for a few old ideas to make a comeback. To kick things off I'll go with a heel ref like Danny Davis. This angle had a great build with Davis constantly helping the heels before finally aligning himself with the Hart Foundation.

So which ideas would you like to see bought back?Ā Ā

Sure there was urban legend that Bret Hart got the sharpshooter from Konnan, not sure that's true mind

    Ā

I was watching an old TV taping from December 88 yesterday and saw The Red Rooster using a sharpshooter to win over Sam Houston - first time I can recall someone using it.Ā

  12. Wrestlers wearing their merch before / during matches. Especially when it's wrestlers who wouldn't normally wear that kind of t-shirt.

It just makes them look like a massive advertising board and basically highlights what they are - a character designed to make money.Ā

  13. The voice that was the soundtrack to the start of my love of wrestling. No-one could come close to his announcing.Ā

And the man who came up with the name 'Wrestlemania'Ā

  14. Giant Haystacks popping up in WCW in 1996 just seemed so out of place. There he is, the big bastard your nan would shout at on the TV whilst he wrestled in some dingy corn exchange around the UK, wrestling Hulk Hogan on a WCW show. Really fucking odd!Ā

  15. Nikolai Volkoff in 1995. The supposed 'New Generation' era (although that was pretty questionable) and there was Volkoff. He didn't even have his skinhead which may have made him look half way formidable, but instead looked like he had a really bad wig on.Ā

Chris Adams was known for being a GHB addict right? And I believe he also killed his wife?

    I think we need a ā€˜Pro Wrestling - GHBā€™Ā documentary....

Chris Adams was a huge GHB abuser. He didn't kill his wife, but he and his young girlfriend took an overdose of it. He ended up in a hospital, she ended up dead. I believe he was up on a manslaughter charge (as he supplied and administered it) at the time of his death. He was wired up on GHB the night he had a fight with his friend who ended up shooting him dead.

Yeah, I tried to watch four different PPV's from 94/95 last night and it would play between six and twenty seconds before freezing completely and not playing again.Ā

To be fair it could just be protecting you from having to watch some utter shit - it wasn't King of the Ring '95 or Uncensored '95 was it? šŸ˜šŸ˜

  18. So it looks like the split will be:

    Saturday (April 4th):

*Ā WWE Championship Match:Ā Drew McIntyre vs. Brock Lesnar

*Ā NXT Womenā€™s Championship Match:Ā Charlotte Flair vs. Rhea Ripley

    * The Undertaker vs. AJ Styles

    * Kevin Owens vs. Seth Rollins

    Sunday (April 5th):
*Ā WWE Universal ChampionshipĀ Match:Ā Roman Reigns vs. Bill Goldberg
*Ā RAW Womenā€™s Championship Match:Ā Shayna Baszler vs. Becky Lynch
    * John Cena vs. ā€œThe Fiendā€ Bray Wyatt

I can't say I'm that excited by it - but at least in two sittings it may be more manageable to watch.

  19. With us all supposedly on the edge of heading into self-containment over the coming weeks, how about a thread for entertaining ourselves if we're all stuck at home.

Post any links or recommendations for shows, matches etc. that we can all use our time productively watching.
