I hope that's a spoiler for the show and not your actual life, Nick.
Possibly a little too close to home ;-)
But jokes aside I was hoping for a more indepth dramedy about Autism. It seemed more like a generic american show with that as the hook. Was a bit disappointed.

Anyone given Atypical a go on Netflix? I binged it all last week. Seems to be dividing viewers.
As someone with a (young) son with Autism we were really interested. But
the wife's affair put us off and haven't gone back since

I binged the first series lest weekend. Took a little getting into, but I enjoyed it. Not sure it's one i enjoyed enough to watch week to week though, so I might wait for the second series to finish before I pick it back up again.
It reminded me in a way of Pushing Daisies in that it had a very surreal vibe. I think Ted Danson may have his best ever role in this (I loved Sam Malone) and think the supporting cast in general are pretty good

Child's Play - 1988, 1990, 1991, 1998, 2004, 2013, 2017
I seem to remember that Child's Play 3 (i.e. the one that became notorious over here) was subtitled Look Whose Stalking in the US. Was it indeed or was that just a tagline?

Started watching The Good Place now Netflix have their grubby mitts on it. 3 episodes in and I'm enjoying it. It reminds me of Pushing Daisies in some ways

There are some terrible people in this thread.
Anyway, I take back what I said about The Babysitter looking awful because it was anything but. Possibly the most surprisingly enjoyable film I've seen all year. Don't read anything about it, just stick it on and remember, if you like it, that it was directed by McG. Fucking McG!
He'll always get a pass for that First Charlie's Angels film and for getting butted by Bill Murray during the making of it

The Logo is a subtle us those DX Reunion ones. Ugh. Cant believe how bad the special effect was in it either

Get that comic book shite outta here! I say after I just watched Spiderman Homecoming, which was really very good.
Has anyone seen 2049 in 4DX yet? I'm half tempted but I also feel that's going to be way overboard for such a film with so many subtleties, imagine watching something like Stalker and being bombarded with the chair in fronts smell spray trying to recreate what The Zone stinks like.
I am yet to have my first 4DX experience, but I was tempted to do it for BR, however having seen it I am glad I didnt. really I should have seen F&F8 or Baby Driver in 4DX. I think a more action packed film would be more fun.

I absolutely agree. Watching it for the first time in the cinema, the sheer strength of Ledger's performance carried it all the way through, so I was buzzing coming out of it. Rewatched it years later, and was amazed how plodding and weirdly structured it was, and how little anything but the Joker felt like it mattered, or had any life behind it.
Miles ahead of Dark Knight Rises, but I hated that one, so that's not much of a compliment.
There's a lovely bit in The Dark Knight where, during a sting operation to catch The Joker, the Joker shows up and a policeman says, "I didn't sign up for this!". This is the exact scenario you signed up for, mate.
And for a film as beloved as it is, I thought the whole Two Face thing was as shoehorned into the film as Venom was in the (rightfully) universally panned Spiderman 3. What a misuse of a beloved character

It was a movie that didn't treat its target audience like idiots and laid a foundation for the subsequent evolution of comic book movies.
You mean like Man of Steel and Batman Vs Superman? Certainly did nothing to aid the MCU and that thrived

Hardly a controversial opinion on here I think. TDK doesn't hold up well at all on repeat viewings imo.
Better than Rises though.
Oh that is the pits. Though atleast it gave us Tom Hardy's Bane, an impression I always enjoy using

Controversy alert - Watch out snowflakes
The Dark Knight is bang average and if Heath Ledger's Joker wasn't in it, it wouldn't be held in such high regard -

I can see why Super wouldn't be to everyone's taste, but I thought it was pretty good. The guy who made it went on to do Guardians of the Galaxy so it must have gotten him noticed by the right people.
As for Ellen Page, she was in Inception right? Is there some circle jerk on hating that? Thought it was pretty well received.
ahhhh. Inception A film on first viewing that I thought was amazing due to all the visuals, but realized on a repeat viewing its just pretty looking bollocks.
Hard Candy though was decent -

Surely that applies to most actors/artists/directors etc as they have less to say/prove etc
Most actors aren't Bobby Though. Sure, your right but here was someone consistently good in good films, eventually end up VOD and The Rocky and Bullwinkle film

What do you mean?
@Chest Rockwell I actually really enjoyed that, and even enjoyed Bad Grandpa. I love Zac Efron as well so it was win/win. Look out for my Robert De Niro podcast coming soon (been saying this for 5 years now)
What I mean is that most of the output in the last 20 years has been lacklustre compared to their early career

So shit I won a BAFTA for it!
But yeah, I'll probably skip it if it's no good. Ridley Scott just should have retired a decade ago and left his legacy intact.

I wonder what Will Borchert is up to these days? Presumably he's one of the most famous and critically acclaimed artists in the world.
I heard he goes by the moniker of Banksy

Oh, well if the director is saying to stay away I'll probably give it a miss. Now to spend the next two months missing the trailers at the pictures.
This is the first time I am going to try and avoid a Star Wars trailer. The next 2 months is going to be a little like that episode of The Likely Lads

Baywatch was funny for about 20 minutes. It wanted to be 21 Jump Street but was more Mr Magoo

It looked like the Batista Bomb was teased in Spectre. Big Dave doesn't have the raw numbers, but he's done a Bond, a Marvel franchise, and now a Blade Runner. Rock's been in more than one of the worst films I've ever watched.
Don't you DARE mention Fast and Furious

I'm with Justice on this one. I've never got on with Blade Runner, but it's exactly the sort of film I should like. So I'm kinda interested in 2049 for that reason alone.
As a visual spectical I am sure you'll love it. It's amazing. But I think you have to really appreciate you mise en scene or Mark Kermode to love it (and even then may struggle to). I enjoyed it but it's not the greatest sequel of all time and has been overrated

What is it you have always hated about him? His is a name I'm familiar with, but I've never known anything about him personally. Is he generally reputed to be a piece of shit before all this or what?
I think before the sexual assault allegations he was hated. Been known to tinker with films/threaten not to release them unless his suggested edits were made. I know that TS Spivet was one such film. One I really enjoyed but he bought and then put on the shelf for 18 months in America because the director refused to make his edits and eventually got a very short and limited release.

They do it pretty well. Although Pablo, a new Cbeebies thing is also pretty good. He even flaps his arms when he is excited just like my son does. I watched a good documentry last night about Chris Packham and his Aspegers and Autism and BBC4 often show Life Animated which is a nice little documentary about an Autistic boy and Disney
