  1. The early buyrate is in for Mayweather/Berto, supposedly it's being very generous to say it's looking like 550k.

Obviously it wasn't going to be anywhere near his previous fight but that is shockingly low, people have obviously got tired of him and the less than enthralling choice of opponent didn't help at all.

  2. A big problem for me is the staleness of the roster, there's only so much you can do with a character.

There's far too many people still there who have done all they can do with the audience really not giving a shit about them still. It's like any other TV show, you rarely see characters/shows last past the 6-8 season mark because they either the audience grow tired of it or the writers feel they can't take it any further - times those seasons by a shitload more episodes in WWE land and you've got seriously lethargic writing.

You've got the likes of Big Show and Kane there stinking the place up after a decade plus (largely without any leave) and even for example the likes of Ziggler and Sheamus have been there 7 and 6 years, respectively. Despite pretty much still being the two biggest draws after over a decade each, even Cena and Orton don't really get reactions they got a couple of years ago.

People stick around in one place for so much longer now compared to previous eras and in many cases it's a detriment to the product, it's (a small) part of the reason Lesnar still has that aura around him - imagine seeing him weekly (sometimes twice a week) for a decade, the appeal would wear off somewhat.

  3. I like Titus, but he needed to shut the fuck up when the Dudleys came out.

The commentators were actually doing a decent job of showing enthusiasm/shock, then you have him talking over them with some monotonous "we're just as good as them" rambling. Doing his best to ruin the moment.

Darren Young still bores me to death, comes off like a bit of a prick too behind the scenes seemingly getting a cameraman sacked.

  4. Women's match was fantastic! Bayley plays the sympathetic babyface excellently and Banks is just one of the most consistent performers in all of WWE right now. Great showing!

Surprised no one has mentioned this awesome news:

  5. Because it's a saleable asset they don't want a rival studio to have, they'd rather lose some money in the short term than have Marvel make even more money in the long term at their expense.

Although, the outcome of all of this probably plays right into Marvels hands anyway. I can see no way at all that the planned (and announced) sequel goes ahead and all the critical negativity this film has gained will likely lead to Marvel low-balling an offer that Fox will probably have no choice but to accept - similar to Sony and the Spider-Man franchise after the flop of a 2nd film.

I think Fox just thought the rushed production wouldn't be a factor in the quality of the film, but alas everything you hear from behind the scenes make the process sound like a colossal disaster from the start to the finish.

  6. Furthermore, would it be getting the same kind of hate if it wasn't produced by FOX and the Fantastic 4 being intergrated into the MCU?

I might go give it a whirl on Thursday when I have an early shift

Well if we're playing devils advocate here, would we see the same released product if it were Marvel, and not Fox, in charge?

I think you're seriously underestimating how little structure or purpose this film has, it really is shockingly flat and empty on a whole. It was a film rushed into production pretty much purely so Fox could keep the rights and it really shows from the script to the notable (Fox demanded) reshoots all the way down to genuinely off putting wardrobe continuity issues.

The actual dialogue - the little that there actually is - is dreadful too, largely cliché-filled spiel delivered with zero conviction.

I really wanted this film to be good but it doesn't even reach enjoyable for me at least, it just reeks of studio execs assuming people will go to see any superhero movie given to them but neglecting to make any real effort to make it good one.

  7. He was very unlucky to be honest, the crowd went crazy for him when he cashed in. He seemed on the right track but then got a concussion a couple of days later that kept him off TV for a whole month, only to then lose the title in his first PPV back. I can't even recall WWE doing any promo videos for him or hyping his return throughout that month off TV, they did a really shit job handling it.

He'll never get back to that point now, he's damaged good and has definitely peaked on his position there.

  8. The announcement is a Bellator/Glory doing an event together in September, basically the Japanese way of an MMA show with 3 kickboxing fights (feat. Schilling and Paul Daley are involved as of now). What's mad is they're having a cage AND a ring in the arena.

Same show has a one-night four man LHW tournament between: Newton, Vassell, King Mo and Phil Davis.

And also McGeary vs. Tito Ortiz for the title.

Sounds cracking on paper to be honest, stacked for a show just live on Spike TV.
