People with no fucking bar etiquette.

I was at a wedding on Saturday, and took half an hour to get served because it was just a succession of dickheads being served in front of me. One bloke borrowed his mate's crutch so he could push to the front of the bar by trading on sympathy, openly told me that's what he'd just done when he got there (where I was already waiting to be served), and then still shouted over me and made sure he got served before me. The golden rule of the pub should always be that when you're asked who's next, you gesture to the person who was there before you, and that means you get served next.

Meanwhile, one person was ordering a ton of cocktails (only two bar staff, so basically cutting response time by at least half), and the woman in front of me acted as if she'd never been at a bar before. Ordered "a bitter", which somehow turned into a five minute conversation over whether each individual beer was a bitter or not. Got three or four drinks served, then said, "could I also get three gin and tonics?", because apparently ordering everything at once is too difficult. The bloke started pouring them, and she decided that actually she wants flavoured gins, and asks what they've got. She makes him go through every individual bottle of flavoured gin, reading the flavour aloud and showing them to her. Once he's shown all of them, she asks, "have you got an orange one?". Were any of the flavours he just gave you orange? No? Then probably fucking not, right? She eventually settles on whatever flavour, and there's only enough for one - barman apologises, and asks if she'd want another flavour for the other two. "Have you definitely not got any more anywhere else?". Yeah, he's just fucking choosing not to serve it to you, right? To his credit, he very bluntly said, "even if I did, I'd have to leave the bar and there's no one else here, so no". Just the fucking worst.

Also, there seems to be a trend towards actively queuing at pub bars now. Like, an actual line starting at the bar and working backwards, rather than using the whole length of the bar. I see it in the pubs near my work a lot, so I don't know if it's chiefly due to students who didn't learn how to behave in a pub because of the pandemic, or something else I'm missing, but it's really, really annoying.

I appreciate sometimes when it's really really busy they can't, but I find you can always tell a good barman/barmaid by them knowing who is next. A good bar person doesn't need to ask who's next. My local are shocking for this, 3 people at the bar the other day, she serves one, its clear the guy next to me is next as he was there before me as she ws serving the other person, and she looks at us both and ask who's next. Piss poor.

  2. Enjoyed that immensely.

Iran pretty much dominated start to finish, Bale was awful again, him and Ramsey shadow of their former selves. Great scenses from the Iran bench, love seeing stuff like that.

Beat the US tonight and can then rest a couple Tuesday as a draw will do.

    It's only Iran, mind.

I’d think less of them if they didn’t release a T-shirt. Fingers crossed they sell millions of them and Hunter has no option but to make Sami vs. Roman at Wrestlemania. This is the way.

It was all I could think about watching Hunter during that Saudi press conference, with everyone chanting, “we want Sami!” At Roman. Hunter must know. This is it.

Everyone 😂 a few Saudis maybe, wasn't some sort of uprising like with Daniel Bryan. The Sami thing is over yeah, to an extent, but let's not confuse what we want with what is actually happening

  4. As much as I like the Bloodline stuff, the "breaking character laughing" every week is clearly part of the script, it all works too well and WWE are playing into it with how they show it. If WWE didn't want them laughing then they wouldn't be, not every week, it quite clearly played into the segment this week. Every time Roman looks like he's going to lose it, Sami makes everyone laugh and it calms down for a bit. Until the next time.

It's still good like but to think it's all off script and not planned is clearly not the case

  5. Wyatt is a genuine star do it's great go see him back. Regardless of what people criticise him for on here, some justified some not, he always gets a massive reaction from live crowds, in an era where genuine big reactions are by an large few and far between its a big upside of him.

The fact he still elicits those responses even after all the questionable booking of him over the years proves he's a star.

Personally I hope he leans more into the character he initially debuted as all those years ago, and I've got faith he'll make it work.

Other than that was a really good show, WWE is definitely firing again and when they get it right there's nowhere better, just about the right runtime as well.

  6. Decent enough show but I find it extremely odd they didn't address the Bucks and Punk in some way. I know there is apparently some legal bits happening behind the scenes so to be fair to them they are probably being careful what they say, however whilst we all know what's happened to an extent, surely there will he some viewers who don't follow everything on the Internet and have no idea why suddenly the belts are vacated and Punk and the Elite aren't even mentioned?!

They've been removed from the opening video as well interestingly.

Even if it was just a made up storyline explanation I'd have at least tried fo explain to the viewers why they're suddenly not there.

  7. The Foley podcast is brilliant, for all the stick he gets on here (some of it rightly so) he comes across really well on the Pod.

The humour is still there, he's got a remarkable memory considering all he's put his body through and it's really interesting hearing him speak about everything. Fits perfectly into the way Conrad sets out his pods and the chemistry between them is really good. The cameo stuff he does at the end is hilarious at times too. My new favourite podcast now, followed closely by Jeff Jarrets and Road Doggs

  8. Torn his pec apparently 🙃 Real shame that, likely to be a few months out when hes got massive momentum at the minute.

Would assume there'll be smoke and mirrors to get round the match tonight, meant to be the main event as well

No more obvious than Tanahashi wasn’t beating Punk for it either

Aye but at least we knew who the champion was here, and was that match ever advertised as being for the actual title?

This one is supposedly going to be for the interim belt so in theory should be a degree of mystery, essentially whoever wins on Wednesday is the Interim champion. Its an absolute mess

  10. What a mess they've made of this whole situation.

Worst of all, it's obvious a New Japan guy isn't going to win the interim belt so they've now essentially ruined the Forbidden Door main event.

I get they've been dealt a bad hand with the injury but the way they've handled it has been woeful

  11. The whole weekend was just great fun.

You can criticise WWE until the cows come home, and a lot if it is justified, but this weekend showed that when WWE turn it on there is no one better.

I've fell out of love with WWE a fair bit over the last couple of years and have got into AEW to an extent, however I've followed it from the Rumble until now and found this weekend fantastic. There was something for everyone at WrestleMania across both nights, honestly even for the staunchest WWE opposer, there was something you'd have liked.

Personally I loved it all, highlights were Cody's return, the Becky/Bianca match, I loved Triple H getting his moment at the start of night 2, the Mcaffee Theory Mcmahon Austin thing was fantastic WWE sports entertainment.

We'll see what happens on RAW now but I'm buzzing with it after this weekend and hopefully the momentum will carry through.

  12. Conrad Thompson did a Supershow interview segment thing with Jeff Jarrett, Eric Bischoff, William Regal and Jeff Hardy last night in Dallas. Few decent little stories, especially with Regal HD was brilliant.

Anyway, Jeff Hardy was clearly off his fucking head, the rest of the panel are clearly uncomfortable when he's talking, he was asked one question about Triple H and blabbered on about fuck knows what and made no sense, guys a mess and needs help

  13. I've felt myself going off Hangman quite a but over the last few weeks but it was sad to hear him getting booed during this.

During the introductions he was heavily booed and at quite a few points during the match. I can't put my finger on it but I think, whilst his redemption story was fantastic, there's so many more over and interesting characters about at the minute that he doesn't really fit in at the very top of the card.

Think they need to get the belt off him, Punk was gesturing to his waist after his win so maybe he's next in line which is only going to get Page turned on more.

  14. So they announced that next weeks Dynamite will feature the bracket for the World Title eliminator tournament going into Full Gear for the shot, which appears to suggest Hangman will get his title match before Full Gear, or after I guess but it’ll be January till their next PPV, or February?

Very odd, thought Hangman/Omega was the nailed on PPV main event but looks like it’ll play out on a Dynamite before the PPV

  15. FITE have finally took out the need to skip the holding page whilst they’re on adverts! Little thing but was so annoying having to skip through every time they go to break, hopefully they’ll do the same for Dynamite moving forward

  16. Feels like AEW have dropped a real bollock this week.

All the hype and noise from Punks debut last week and they put out one of the worse Dynamites they’ve done on Wednesday and whilst this show was alright it was nothing special and the commentary ruined it.

Obviously not every show is going to be mental like last week etc, but on Wednesday they would have had new eyes on the product so had a real chance to capitalise on that.

Feels like a real missed opportunity
