Just watched Superstars and Drew McIntyre won his first match in an age, playing the face against Jinder Mahal. Drew as a face just doesn't seem right yet, but if it leads to him being featured more I won't complain.
Â
You've not watched Smackdown yet then? They ganged up (alongside Heath Slater) on Brodus Clay. Drew doesn't seem to be going babyface.
Â
Watched it this morning. Now I feel stupid and a little confused.

Logan Montoya looks like one of my old college mates. I think thats the only reason I like her so much.

Big E Langston is the best thing on NXT. He's great.
Â
Bo Dallas and Richie Steamboat are the worst. Super bland with no character. It's hilarious that in the first few weeks they kept mentioning Bo Dallas as a ladies man, as if!
Â
I used to hate Chris Hero on the indies so it's a surprise I'm enjoying Kassius Ohno so much. He has a different look, but it somehow works for him as a loner/weirdo-character. His 'sparring session' was pretty pointless though. I hope we get a Ohno vs Ricky Steamboat match in the future, but it'd be weird for them to throw it onto NXT.
Â
Everything else is pretty bland though, isn't it? I don't like seeing NXT Season 5 people popping up - I've seen them all wrestle each other a hundred times before. Seth Rollins is good, but not great. Leo Kruger's gimmick seems to switch every week. Bray Wyatt's vignettes were the best thing on the show and they've gone missing. The Ascension/Usos feud is similar to so many WWE feuds - there's no real reason for them to feud so they're just have rematch after rematch with no progression or conclusion in sight.
Â
It'd help if they gave some of the blander guys some promo time, for them to get their character across. At the moment it's almost structured like an episode of Superstars.

Pick up The Cabin in the Woods. It's a ton of fun. Not a revolutionary horror film by any means, like a lot of people were claiming, but it's worth anybody's time.
-
I just watched Headhunters. I love these type of cat-and-mouse crime thrillers when they're done well, and this is done very well. Great plot, some arse-clenchingly tense moments and it all comes together nicely at the end. Recommended.

To be fair, most of those are better than the original Star Wars films...

I've been watching Freaks and Geeks. I'm enjoying it. My biggest problem though is nothing to do with the show, I just can never seem to finish any US TV series. I'm around 8 episodes in and think it's a great show, yet I just don't have the motivation to watch anymore episodes. Everytime I go to select it I find myself watching a film or The Office instead. Does anybody else have this problem with US TV?

I watched The Cabin in the Woods too last night. It's a lot of fun, but it's nowhere near as clever as it thinks it is. If it didn't have all the 'game-changer' hype I probably wouldve enjoyed it a lot more. Scream is a better send-up of the horror genre.

Source Code is a much better action/sci-fi film than Inception. The last 5 minutes lets it down but everything before that is good fun.

I bet Empire are shitting themselves.
-
Good. He's got a lot of potential as a smarmy heel but the undefeated angle was more of a burden to him than anything.
-
Some great efforts in here. The sheer simplicity of Alberto Del Rodney made me piss myself though, it'll take some beating. Teddy Got Fingered is in 2nd place.
-
I finally got around to watching Take Shelter a few days back. It really is excellent, especially that ending.
-
He's awful. Just really fucking shit. Clerks is shit too.
-
He tried way too hard. It's a shame because usually he was a decent poster, but some of his posts were just utterly cringeworthy.
Â
Â
You don't try hard enough.
Â
I don't need to.

I thought he was great in RKK. Loved his tag-team with Harry Smith and it seemed the Indian fans were really into him.
Â
I wouldn't mind some of those RKK teams ending up on Impact eventually to pad out the tag-team division. Specifically Smith & Chavo, and Hollywood & Broadway.

I fucking detest that show. It's popularity astounds me. I'd rather have Mrs Brown's Boy, truth be told.
-
Yeah, the 'I've forgotten the script' gags are the absolute worst.
-
I re-watched all of the Bottom Lives a few months back. They're mostly terrible. Not even in the same league as the television show.
-
Must have been Loki, then.
Â
Yes, Signs was lovely. I've tried watching a lot of short films lately and the best ones I've watched are La Cabina (the other two parts are linked in the sidebar),
and.Â
Cheers, I'll get to them over the weekend. You and Loki should start that film club again by the way!
-
I thought either you or Loki had chose it as one of your Films of the Week in the old Film Club thread, so I'm assuming you're thinking of Loki.
Â
I watched that Signs you pimped on Letterboxd, Gladstone. Great film, and it's made me want to check out some more shorts. Got any recommendations?

They're amazing arn't they? Sink and Swim, The 59 Sound and American Slang were three of my favourite albums of all time. I was almost dreading Handwritten because I thought there was no way they could pull another cracking album out of the bag, but they did it. It's probably my favourite album of theirs now. I like how their lyrics are becoming more personal and heartfelt with every record they make. Mulholland Drive is my song of the year so far.
