Arthur B. Funky Posted May 31 Posted May 31 Does anyone else think that the raised walkways of the 90s WCW PPVs would be a great fit for major shows in this day & age? What was the reason they were binned off, 'cos to my mind they would add more to a visual spectacle than just a descending ramp ... or is it just a matter of pandering to walkway fans in the hope that a worker gives them a high-five, a selfie, etc.? Just thinking that it would be nice to see one now & again ... Quote

AAA using them would be great, for example ... NJPW sometimes use them ... and I'm not talking about ALL PPVs/PLEs ... maybe it's just me, but they add something to a stage set. Quote
simonworden Posted June 1 Posted June 1 WWE haven't used them since the early to mid 80s and that was when it was a local promoter's choice I believe. It was very much an NWA/WCW rasslin thing to Vince I think which is why we've rarely seen it. In fact is Wrestlemania 33 in 2017 the only time there's been one? That was only as they went with that big mental ramp thing that baffles me as it must have blocked views. I would guess that it's just something that adds nothing, takes time to set up and probably the biggest reason is that it makes access to the ringside area much harder. Quote
