Dirty Eddie Posted August 27, 2015 Share Posted August 27, 2015 One of the main reasons that gun control laws won't likely change any time soon is because those in favour of guns for everyone completely refuse to believe facts laid out in front of them. Â You are more likely to be shot or killed if you own a gun than if you don't. Various studies show this to be true but people just won't let it sink in. Pulling out a gun as "self defense" leads to a shoot out - something that probably wouldn't have happened if you were being robbed at gunpoint and just did as you were told. Likewise, having a gun in your house makes you more likely to be shot or killed by an intruder, should a struggle happen. Â Basically, adding guns to the mix of any crime makes them far more likely to be deadly. The presence of a gun ramps up the levels of danger instantly, making the likelihood of a fatal shooting much higher. Â This doesn't even touch upon all the accidental gun deaths every year - kids playing with Mom's gun, idiots accidentally shooting each other, children taking Dad's gun into school. It's fucking crazy! When it comes to shooting each other and locking citizens in prison, America is so far "ahead" of its competition that it's not even funny. USA, USA...
