cogitoergozoomo
Even in the death throws, there is always a curve ball. Rangers plan to buy Bury, according to er, The Sun.  It's nothing but entertainment in this saga is it? What's next, resurrecting the Atlantic League  Exactly, if it was that easy Celtic & Rangers would have did this years ago, fuck I remember Fergus McCann wanting to buy Wimbledon back in 1996. Green seems to be getting desperate now.  One of the huge hurdles was Rangers and Celtic wanting to transfer their registrations and remain the same team.  As 'old Rangers' are dead it becomes much simpler. It won't be easy but a lot of the hurdles are knocked down.
dangerously420
Is it just me or does anyone else think it is wrong for a Scottish team to play in an English league? Should an English league not be exclusively reserved for English teams in England to be members of a league?

I wouldn't mind if the new Rangers came down here and started in Conference North or something but buying and taking the place of a lower league team like Bury is just bollocks

I hope this is actually true rather than more fantasy journalism like the Atlantic League, The Ibrox Supercasino, Rino Gattuso re-signing etc all were. David
An excellent move from Motherwell regarding the vote for a NEWCO; Â The board of Motherwell FC met yesterday to discuss the vote by SPL member clubs on the question of the admission of a successor club or
gary v1
Good on Motherwell for listening to the fans. I'd expects at least 90% to vote against a newCo so that's a fairly definite 'No'. I also think Celtic and Hibs will definitely vote 'No' so only 2 more required to send Rangers down to the 3rd division. Dundee Utd I think also hinted at a 'No'vote. From the statements released by clubs who else seems inclined to vote No? I think Killie and Hearts were certain 'Yes' votes?
David
What about Aberdeen? Aren't they pretty much a no vote?
gary v1
Yeah I think you're right. So if everyone sticks to their guns there'll be no Rangers in the SPL next season. Interesting. Are any bookies taking bets on this? Seeing some odds would give a good indication as to the likeliness of them getting back in.
David
From the statements released by clubs who else seems inclined to vote No? I think Killie and Hearts were certain 'Yes' votes? Hearts have made the following statement;  Mr Vladimir Romanov today issued the following statement after recent revelations that have had a hugely damaging affect on the game in this country. Mr Romanov, who has been consistent in his views since investing in Scottish football in 2005, said:  "The opinion of Heart of Midlothian FC in regards to the current situation of Scottish football is clear and robust.  "The football mafia represented by former owners of Rangers FC and Rupert Murdoch's media are to blame for some of the worst problems to hit Scottish football and must not be allowed back in under any circumstances.  "As regards the club itself, we can only express our deepest condolences to its supporters, who have been lied to for so many years.  "It had to happen sooner or later. Victories were achieved not by sporting merits, but through slander, conspiracies amongst players and their poaching via third parties, unfair pressuring of referees, who in themselves are as valuable to the fabric of football as the football stars themselves.  "All of this brought hollow victories and destroyed football. We can also mention the attempts to eliminate Hearts with the help of the tax petitions, through false accusations and threats to revoke the club license. Paid Members martyngnr Posted June 21, 2012 Paid Members Share Posted June 21, 2012 What about Aberdeen? Aren't they pretty much a no vote? It has to be a no from Aberdeen. Milne can't risk losing a massive section of an already dwindling support. Â Â As for Romanov - He is a complete mentalist but you've got to love that statement. Absolutely brilliant stuff. So I think we can chalk Hearts down as a "no" then?!
dangerously420
Or how about I'd only want English teams play and English league, Scottish teams play a Scottish league, the Welsh play in a Welsh league and the Northern Irish play in an Northern Irish league with no teams mixing together in each others home nation leagues. God i hate saying home nations just can't wait for my chance to vote for an independent Scotland and be done with having to declare myself British all the time.
