One all with Accies? Aberdeen really are the drizzling shits, aren't they?

We're not in a good way. After the feel good factor ended with Craig Brown's appointment we slumped back into our initial form, and we disgrace any pitch we get the chance to. Brown's going to have to rebuild the side dramatically next season bar one or two standout performers.

Looking at the squad, Jamie Langfield's one of the worst goalkeepers in the SPL. For every great save he makes he makes five basic errors, and you can't get by with a goalkeeper like that.

Our defence is shaky, and really struggles to cope with set pieces. Our midfield and strikeforce has some plus points, Aluko on his day can be fantastic. Chris Maguire has really broken out as a player, and Paul Hartley's still got bags of talent. Scott Vernon isn't bad, and Josh Magennis looks to have a bit of potential. But Maguire and Aluko are out of contract come the season end, Hartley's aging, Vernon's scoring touch has dried up a little and potential is just that until someone fulfils it.

Don't get me wrong, I didn't rate him one bit when we signed him and his performances at left back for us showed why. As soon as he went to centre back though he just looks a whole lot more natural. He's been really good in that position, however as for being in my team of the season, it could just be down to the poor defences in the SPL.

I agree that the move has suited him, which is kind of bizarre but I'm glad to see it. Being a fan of Scottish football in general I'd like nothing better for the guy to flourish in his new role, and prove that he's suited to centre defence in Europe, and in turn for the national side. Lord knows, we need a strong centre back. Unfortunately I don't see it happening. I think he'll be found out in the Champion's League, unless Lennon signs a particularly strong partner for him.

I disagree whole heartedly with the part in bold. Paul Hartley's legs are gone. I can see him retiring this summer. Chris Maguire, don't get me started. He's going to go nowhere in this game if he keeps playing the way he is playing. Constantly plays for himself instead of the team. He's a selfish player who always makes the wrong decisions. He's still living off that half way line goal against Iceland U21s.

I cannot wait for Diamond to leave. He is an absolute bombscare. If Hearts do indeed sign him, more fool them!

(Zander) Diamonds are a girls strikers' best friend!

I agree with parts of this. Hartley's legs have gone, that's true. But I still think he's a talented player, and potentially an asset to the team if he can stay healthy. Granted, that might be impossible. Maguire can be selfish, I accept that. But that doesn't make him bad, more his judgement. With the right team around him, and some further development (he's still only 22 after all) he could be a talisman player.

Hang on, what's this about Hearts?! Where did you see this?! Brilliant!

Craig Brown has been saying this; Jim Jeffries has confirmed he's in talks with Diamond. It's been all over the papers!

I don't think Langfield is that bad actually. His problem is that he is a confidence player - and clearly he has no faith in that defence in front of him. All season I've said our best (or least worst) central defensive partnership is Considine and McArdle. They've done ok when they've played together. I'm not sure if they are good enough together though.

Thankfully as soon as we are rid of Zander the better. Today was just typical from him - completely at fault for the goal then manages to injure Langfield in the process.

You could have put Edwin Van Der Sar in goal for us today and it wouldn't have made any difference.

Although a couple of strong full backs are needed too, we won't be able to afford Stevie Smith, Vujadinovic is shite so his loan can end thankfully, McNamee is too injury prone, Derek Young is neither a full back or any good,Clark Robertson probably isn't ready which just leaves the returning Ricky Foster.

Midfield-wise I think we are fine. Jack, Pawlett, Fyvie, Hartley, Folly, Milsom and possibly Aluko are more than good enough - if they can stay fit. Add in Jack Grimmer to that too actually.

Upfront there is Vernon, Magennis who are good enough, Paton and Mackie who aren't so we need at least a couple more strikers. I doubt Maguire will stay so hopefully we'll be able to use the money to bring in a decent replacement.

In terms of new signings what really annoys me is today for example someone said to me while we watched the game that Aberdeen will never catch Dundee United or Hearts by signing players from the Scottish lower leagues. Just two examples of why that is an idiotic statement are Craig Conway and Ryan Stevenson - both of whom would walk into the Aberdeen starting XI.

That is the worst Evening Express-style headline I've ever read. For shame!

Hell, I've spent the past few Fridays at work having a Sun/Evening Express Headline competition with my mates for Premiership teams.

My best one I think is; "Racist Aberdeen fans are outraged as Club signs Blackman."

I agree, and David Templeton has been one of the standout players of the season - Danny Swanson too. That said, I'm not convinced in Rory McAllister, who Brown admitted an interest in. He didn't impress me greatly when he was with Inverness, and I think it's difficult to tell whether he's actually improved, or whether he's simply coping better in a lower quality league.

There are a few First Division players I wouldn't mind seeing us get our hands on, I like the look of Gregory Tade at Raith Rovers - if they don't get promoted he might be an attainable buy. There's Gary Harkins at Dundee, though sadly I'm not sure we'd be able to afford him, and I've always liked Bob Harris at QOTS.

I'd like to think there'll be a few decent out of contract players we can get our hands on, alongside a few astute loan buys. We'll have Ricky Foster back from Rangers too, which should give us a boost.

It should be an interesting summer whatever happens...

I was thinking the same last summer and the summer before that and the summer before that, but alas, the same old shite. I don't hold out much hope. Still be renewing my season ticket though, because I'm a mug!

I for one wouldn't be surprised if Maguire ended up at Rangers next season. His game is not a million miles away from Nacho Novo's and Rangers could have used that at times this season.
