  1. Think it's fair to say the passing of Pele deserves its own thread. The 'GOAT' of football argument has raged like never before over the past month, and for many Pele is the greatest to have ever kicked a ball. Before 1986, it was seemingly undisputed.

It's a borderline impossible argument anyway, and can become tiresome, but if there were a football Mount Rushmore then he would be on there.

In the late 80s, everyone in the world knew who Maradona was. In the early 2000s everyone knew who Beckham was. Everyone in today's age know who Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo are. However EVERYONE in the world from the 1960s to today knew who Pele was. He is still the biggest name in the history of the sport. The first true megastar.

This video has done the rounds a lot over the past month, and it's a reminder of the skill he possessed.

Three World Cup winner's medals (one retrospectively awarded), scored in one final as a teenager and another in his thirties. Two time Copa Libertadores and Intercontinental Cup winner. One of the very best, RIP

  2. Brilliant.

If anyone fancies being pissed off, check out Julia Hate-Spewer's tweet on this interaction.

The vile cunt then doubles down, even after deleting the original tweet:

Her justification is astounding. She's clearly the kind of person who'd say 'I called him a black bastard because he is black, I was stating a fact, it's not racist'

Wonder what his points per game ratio is compared to Fat Sam and Rafa.

I have their win % if that helps?

    Big Sam: 38.46%

    Rafa the red: 31.82%

Frank 'jobs for the boys' Lampard: 30.77%

I think that makes him the least successful permanent Everton manager of all time, if you combine Kendall's reigns (his late 90s stint is the only one with a lower win % than Lampard).

  4. Everton need to change managers if they want to stay up I reckon. Can see them, Southampton (the Nathan Jones appointment stinks of 'preparing for life in the Championship') and Forest going down. In any other season Bournemouth would also go down, but the other three either have worse squads or have Lampard at the helm.

Lopegetui should help Wolves over the line, there's a half decent squad there with a few really decent players. Everton also have a number of very good players, so there will be a real scramble if they go down. Virtually everyone in that squad is PL quality, which is a further indicator of Lampard's ability as a manager.

he isn’t exactly what United need at this exact moment in time

I couldn't agree more. It definitely stank of a 'United really haven't learned anything' signing for them had it taken place. They have an abundance of options on the left- Garnacho as well as those you mentioned.

With the Glazers looking to sell up, are they likely to throw money around like they have done so in recent years? They might do an Ashley and think 'fuck it'. Or perhaps they will continue, knowing that spending money on big names might help attract more suitable buyers.

  6. So United have been supposedly sniffing around Cody Gakpo (there are claims he was top of Ten Hag's wishlist)...then Liverpool come steaming in out of nowhere and quickly sign him for half of what United would've probably bid. You watch them do something silly as a reaction to this now, like pay £100m for a 6 month loan deal for Joao Felix.

Oh, and it's good to have the Premier League back. I fucking love Martin Odegaard.

  7. Fucking awful news. That's two of my favourite live performers gone now (along with Keith Flint). Many say the o2 is a bad music venue but he had the entire arena eating out of the palm of his hand. You'd think you were somewhere smaller and more intimate like Brixton Academy when Faithless performed there. RIP

If twitter is to be believed then under 10% of the money taken in by sales of the LadBaby single will actually go to the Trussel Trust.

As others have said on twitter, you'd have thought that if they had an ounce of dignity or legitimacy they'd have found a way for costs to have been covered and donated 100% of all sales to charity.

Or even dipped into their deep pockets to cover it or even match what they've "raised" and donate it seeing as they've made their fortune off the back of faux charitable intent.

    Tories gonna Tory.

This is purely down to the "Any word from Milan?" clip to be honest, and at the time it wasn't such a mad thing to say. Rose was one of the best LBs in the league (probably even Europe) for a few years and lots of English players were moving to Serie A.

That was purely down to editing. Rose is a wonderful guy, Sun interview aside. There will be no slander here thanks.

It may well have been down to that, but he just didn't come across as well as Dele in those sit-down chats with Jose is all I'm saying. He didn't seem to want to listen or digest what Jose was saying and just said it was unfair. He may well be a wonderful guy, I'm not disputing that at all.

and the training ground is where you need to shine,

I think this is key and the All Or Nothing documentary shows that he wasn't putting in the graft on the ground, which as you say could mean he just doesn't love it enough. Doesnt make him a bad guy, it is what it is.

I thought he came across really well in it (Danny Rose, not so much) and I also thought Jose dealt with him well. Tried a couple of different methods to try and get the best out of him. At one point it seemed to be working and he had a mini resurgence under Jose, but it didn't last. It's a shame, as there was clearly a huge amount of talent there.

Just seen this. Fucking hell. That is an absolute kick in the teeth. I'm gonna ring my old man, he will be devastated.

I text my Dad as soon as I found out, he's absolutely gutted.

A great man from a great band. Were still fighting the cause and putting out good music in recent years too. RIP

Edit: Nite Klub is an underrated track for me. My dad used to play this in the car all the time when I was a kid.

There is no way you didn't Google that first one

    Spoiler

I didn't! Tried to think of which Brazil players played in the 58 and 62 finals that weren't called Garrincha.
