  1. I was part of the protest tonight patrolling Enfield, was a great feeling.

Was in good spirits for most of the night, all races running off any trouble and police were thankful they had us there to help. The Tottenham Hotspur firm turned up and said a few racist things but other then that it was amazing to see so many people out helping the community.

Sounds good then. When I heard about it, part of me thought 'oh good for them, great to see them standing up for their community'. Then the cynical side of me thought that some might turn up for a witch-hunt for a certain race.

Edit: Palace fans joining Millwall and Charlton now? This really is unprecedented. South London football fans absolutely hate each other more so than most area rivalries, extraordinary to see this.

  2. Really not sure what to make of that to be honest.

Had a heated discussion with a bloke at work today. He started really going off on one about how they are scum, started effing and blinding which is unusual of him. Then he shouted "They need to send them back home". I had to stop him right there and remind him that from what I've seen, these are British people rioting and that it was a bit of a xenophobic thing to say. He said "British? Look at their faces". Was little point wasting my time further with someone of that opinion.

  3. "Minor disorder" in Basildon according to Essex Police on Twitter.

I pass through the Eastgate shopping centre on the way to work tomorrow, so I'll see what/if anything has happened of note. Though the riots- if any- are probably happening at Festival or one of the retail parks.

  4. Reports on twitter of a large group of both Millwall and Charlton fans defending parts of Eltham while singing "No one loots us"

Fucking hell. That really is something.

  5. Reporter was interviewing some scabby Manc kid wearing a motorcross-like mask, shades and a hoody. The kid was saying he wasn't a law-abider and he was just out to piss the police off, getting pissed and all that. Didn't look like a terrifying scene to me, the kid looked as though he was just giving it the gab.

  6. Pretty sure the cross was done last night? Also the Sony depot at Enfield Lock is apparently in flames.

You're right, for some reason that riot watch thing on Google Maps only added that incident about 45 mins ago. Strange.

Yeah I saw about the Sony depot. Seems to be the only thing going down in that part of the A10 stretch. My sisters house in Waltham Abbey got egged earlier, but I don't think that constitutes as rioting.

  7. Add Waltham Cross to the list, which means this has now spread to Hertfordshire.

Apparently Clinton Cards & JD Sports at Brookfield Farm (Cheshunt) were smashed up by a couple of gangs earlier, but police quickly restored order.

  8. really? It's been quiet as anything. Although I won't see the high street until morning

Nothing major from what I read:

Workers at Best Buy on Harlesden High Street fought off attempts to enter their shop from a gang of around 20 thieves, alleged to be aged 13-26, carrying bits of wood from nearby shop fronts and stolen wooden mops.

Fulham Broadway is fine. I just ran up there and its dead quiet. One hooded gang walked past me from the direction towards Clapham Junction, but there's no sign of cars alight or looting.

"Cars have been torched in Fulham Broadway."

  9. Can't be long now before vigilante groups start forming and people begin arming themselves to defend their property.

Turkish communities have already started, chasing some of the gangs with baseball bats. Apparently they are standing outside their shops, keeping guard in case any come back or something. That is a mixture of what I've read on here and FB

  10. Does anyone live somewhere where there haven't been rumours of riots? There are now rumours of the shit going down where I live, but that honestly seems a bit stupid.

If you believe Twitter, then about a dozen have said riots have kicked off here. They are clearly wrong, the local MP has confirmed on Twitter, loads have gone out and had a look and then posted on Twitter. Plus it's dead quiet here, no riots.

Any news of riots in West London at all?

Yeah- Ealing, Fulham Broadway, Harlesden, Notting Hill...

  11. Soho is clear at the minute according to m,y friend, just a crowd of people outside of the Palladium for a Morrissey concert.

You can't make this up. I wonder what happened when he started singing:

'Panic in the streets of London, panic in the streets of Birmingham...'

  12. This is terrific, thanks.

I am totally shocked that nothing has kicked off in Edmonton yet. As it started in Tottenham, then continued in Enfield, I straight away assumed that Edmonton would be next. Very strange. The Livermores must have the area under martial law.

  13. Oh God

i thought only we could get away with crap sitcoms

Good lord that was shocking, terrible stuff. However I'd imagine it might get over with some of the female demographic.

Also really enjoyed the first two episodes of Trollied. Nice to see Sky 1 putting some real effort into making new comedy and British too.

Really? I watched the first 20 mins of the first episode, really couldn't stand it. Really didn't find it funny in the slightest. My wife had enough and turned it over, and she like Dinnerladies

But agreed on Sirens, I enjoyed the first series. Will definitely catch the second series if they make one. Reminds me very much of Teachers, the main guy is also very similar and has a similar relationship with the copper to what Andrew Lincoln had with that female teacher (can't remember her name).

  14. I'm sorry but the Kaiser Chiefs warned us of this years ago. We never listen do we?!

I expected better of you there stunstone. Using a shit joke that people have been putting on Facebook for the past 24 hours...honestly...

  15. By all past experience, that's fuck all. The whole point of their service is that it's encrypted in a way that means RIM themselves can't decrypt messages, making court orders meaningless.

    RIM?

  16. Pretty much this. I had PCC in my sig for weeks before I even knew what anyone was banging on about. Gladstone, Loki and Sev are the Hogan, Hall and Nash. Me, Butch and Tony James dont even get merchandise royalities or even get a picture on the front of the new DVD.

I always thought you and Butch were Hall & Nash. Didn't know Seven was part of it.

    Where the fuck is Gladstone???

  17. The problem is they don't actually show much of the act, only Jason Manford making his usual inane and unfunny observations. Its also rather odd that the main selling point is that some of these supposed funny comedians might not get laughs.

Plus again, Jason Manford is terrible

He reminds me of a poor man's Peter Kay, and Peter Kay has been awful for years. "do you remember when you were a kid and blah blah" oh go away and mack on some girl on Twitter.
