  1. Is this due to upcoming TV contract negotiations? I.e a new TV deal being more important than PPV buys right now.

Hoping it’s a proper match, with a proper result, and will be avoiding the time remaining going into the main event like the plague.

Nice to see Mick Fleetwood and Sam Fox still getting along. Dorres’ desperately throwing her support behind anybody to keep her job is hilarious. No-one before Johnson would’ve trusted her to carry a packet of mints

Every candidate in the leadership contest have shown themselves to be completely reprehensible, so lets just go with whoever is most likely to fuck these two clown acts off to the very back of the benches, and focus on getting the oppositions shit together before the next general election.

  3. Satnam Singh had a documentary called One in a Billion that I watched years ago on Netflix (not sure if its still on there), so was a bit wild to see him pop up here. He's a good lad, but this storyline needs to bugger off to ROH.

Other than that, great show. Roll on Friday night.

I’m glad he’s back. I think he is where he wants to be. That said… The camera work for the entrance was awful. The camera work throughout wasn’t great either missing the barricade spot completely. The fact Cody hat to hit his finisher 3 times to beat Rollins I thought was poor booking that made him look weak. Felt the match overall was overbooked. As an AEW fan I’m not miffed at all he left, he had got proper stale, so I hope this works out, but thought it wasn’t great.

Austin vs KO will be considered a match, but it was just a slightly bigger version of his beat downs from other events over the years. And he’s certainly not Sting in the ring. But if that’s what he wanted, fair play to him

Hang on @Kfogg1991 you actually paid for the event?

Austin took a suplex onto concrete, what more do you want from the man?

Possibly buying ROH *and* going on HBO Max? Apparently they'd be getting like $30m a year from HBO Max, and they'd pay around $50m for ROH, so it would make business sense (although, granted, I know nothing about business).

    $50m for ROH? The fuck.

Yeah I get that but as I said they didn’t say Paris the way the nation says it. We’ve always called it Kee Yev and to stop now as some kind of anti Russian measure is daft. Not as daft as having actors do the voices for Sinn Fein but it’s still daft.

When the country in question has specifically gone to lengths to clarify pronunciations/conventions and the reasons why, its really not.

Danielson turned into a prick when Page pointed out that he beat Omega in less than 30 mins. Danielson's pride was wounded and he's taken it out on Hangman's mates

In kayfabe, Punk wasn't expecting that reaction and his pride got hurt and he lashed out and used what he knew would get under the skins of the Long Island fans. As a massive hockey fan he went for the hockey team which is the only team of the big 4 sports based in Long Island.

Danielson and Punk in wrestling canon are underneath their nice guy exteriors actually massive dickheads, all it needs is things not to go their way.

I didn't think it was Punks best showing. Resorting to the same Islanders dig 3 times (once again going for the low hanging fruit he took a shot at MJF for), just didn't come across great for me. It was also jarring doing that, then having MJF come out for the battle royale right after. They really do need to tighten up their continuity. His video was superb though.

Sue was yet again a Queen though, and Trent looked nails.

Not something we will ever hear AEW say!

I'm not sold on this "redemption" Punk arc.  I think you're all right, that IS what they're doing, but then in his first match back after 7 years they had him beat one of their brightest rising stars!  Which when he struggles a few weeks later to get past Bobby Fish, makes it look both like Punk is going backwards, or that maybe Darby isn't that big of a deal.

It reminds me in a way of when WCW signed Bret Hart - beyond the initial buzz they clearly hadn't got any plans for what to do with him, and by the time the cycled him into the main event his aura was lost.

The way out of this, for me, is to turn Punk heel.  That's his natural habitat, he's an unlikeable guy.  That "unprofessional" to Kingston made him look like a dick.

Exactly this. Do the 'Punk getting back into it' storyline if you want, but don't put him over red hot Darby Allin on night one.

The Wildhearts have been round decades and were canny big in the 90s/2000s. Black Spiders I've heard of in passing and are one of those generic hard rock bands that make it semi-big every few years ala Airbourne and The Answer. Never heard of any of the others.

The Answer! Haven't heard of them for years. Were always good fun though, what are they up to now?

Isn’t the whole reason for a save being made is because they are aware of what’s going on in the ring? If they aren’t watching the live feed because they are getting ready for their match, how would they know?

That said, I think it will be addressed because the inner circle is getting more divided. Hager is with Jericho, but S & O are doing more stuff as a duo and even Sammy’s whole angle  with Miro is based on his mate Fuego and nothing to do with the IC. I can see this being the catalyst to a break up of the group.

@stewdogg everyone is allowed an opinion. But being factually wrong, and then doubling down on theories based in their own mind allows for challenging and calling out. If he had said Brandi sucks, or the Cody/Black match was crap, that’s an opinion.

I read somewhere (fuck knows where mind) that Jericho was ready to split them up, but Khan wants them to remain acquaintances, largely doing their own thing but remaining part of the Inner Circle, ready to come together as and when its needed.
