Weirdly I'm not that pumped for it.  Timmy's is one of those things I like to do when I'm in Canada.  It doesn't seem as fun if I can see the drive thru queue from the end of my road.

    The oreo effect.

  2. I have two trips booked before May, and another for June (the latter our honeymoon, for a wedding that was pushed back, all rollovers from last year, booked the year before). It's not important in the grand scheme of things, but losing them for the second year in a row is going to be an absolute shitter, and my resentment towards the government grows by the day for not getting on top of this.

After it’s been laundered at least a dozen times and we find out that it actually came from the tip jars at Turnberry.

I don’t see him having any issues in raising funds, mainly because he won’t care where that money comes from and there is a vested interest in keeping America fucked. It’ll be interesting to see if he launches his own media platforms, it’ll be his only way of staying relevant but could also be a financial clusterfuck as I don’t see how they could ever make any advertising revenue, I’m sure it won’t stop his ego from convincing him to give a go though, provided someone else picks up the tab.

Watch Newsmax become Trump Newsmax in weeks time. There's a reason he's been pumping that and OAN up so much, he wants in.

AEW have already screwed it up simply writing the deaths of real human beings into trivial pro-wrestling storylines.

I don't care if it gets better or worse. It already creepy and weird, completely taking me out of it. It's a daft angle about guys bickering and glaring at each other, with everyone on the brink of turning. It doesn't need anyone going, "hey, some of family died recently." Tone deaf as fuck.

Honestly, I saw it as a way to bring Santana and Ortiz on side for the eventual MJF turn on Jericho, as it was the one genuine thing he's said in AEW so far. Not sure how that positions them all eventually mind, but it seemed a genuine way for them all to pay tribute, and Santana looked a boss with his stoicism.

I'd also like to add, from an employers side, that we are concerned about a wave of home working flexible working applications post-covid. In fact, its the subject of most discussion amongst my network. I think a lot of organisations are trying to figure out what culture they want after Covid - as employees will want more flexibility in regards to work location - but at the same time the employer may well want a certain degree of attendance in the office. From my company's point of view, we are preparing a policy that allows for 2 days working from home per week for all employees - but we will resist flexible working requests for 4 or 5 days per week working from home - we believe we do our best work when together and interacting with our colleagues and therefore not having that presence will be detrimental to quality of output and ultimately performance - so we are trying to meet our employees half way. I'd also be concerned about the floodgates issue - setting a precedent, as you suggest your employer has already said to you, would really worry me as an HR leader.

So I agree with Keith - speak to your union. However, I share the above because I do believe your employer will have justifiable grounds to reject a request to work from home 4 days out of 5 (assuming you are a full time employee) and I think if they have suggested you only need to be in the office 3 days out of 5, then that is, in my view, extremely reasonable.

One thing that could help you, however, is to ask to be referred to Occupational Health - if the company gets a medical assessment from a doctor recommending that your working arrangements be adapted in this way, then your company may be more agreeable to at least try it on a temporary basis.

I've been lobbying for 3 days WFH, specifically the back end of the week, with the two office days being Monday and Tuesday. Get in, do your weekly Trading/Performance/Project/Whatever meetings on the Monday morning, set actions for the rest of the week, allow the Tuesday for any additional meetings that need to take place around them, then back home to actually deliver the work through Friday, with minimal distractions.

  7. Why aren't the government being called out on the fact that this 14 day quarantine for those returning from Spain wouldn't be needed if they'd gotten testing up to anywhere near they level that they claimed they would? Absolute shit houses.

  8. The callback to Raw 10 years ago didn't need to be made, but that's Jericho trying to connect all the dots. I'm not going to knock him for it when continuity is often lacking in wrestling.

Tyson is getting a lot of attention at the moment with his proposed comeback on sports radio and TV, so the timing makes sense to have him in. It'll get eyeballs on the product, but hopefully won't over stay its welcome, and gives Jericho and the Inner Circle something to do that isn't Elite related. I just hope that they keep it away from matches for the most part, no-one needs to see Belfort stiffing his way through a tag match.

Had an interview today for a job in the civil service. I knew straight away from reading the job description, and from my previous experience before I got stuck in a rut working nights in Tesco for almost nine fucking years that I could absolutely do this job with the Land Registry.

Walked into the interview to a panel of three people and all my prepping may as well have gone out the window. Tripping over my words and not giving detailed enough answers to certain scenarios, I could feel myself going red in the face as I stumbled my way through three quarters of the interview.

Of course, on the way back home, I'm calling myself a dickhead and asking myself why didn't I answer so and so in a certain way. I can prep for weeks but as soon as I'm sat face to face with the interviewer, my mind goes completely blank. In a previous life, I used to recruit and interview people so you think I'd know better.

    Fucking bollocks.

Don't let this experience put you off going for other jobs, and don't be afraid to take all your notes in with you next time.

  10. Have been on no (or very low) carbs since the new year, which is doing wonders for getting into Wedding/summer shape. The first week or two were pretty dire, and the initial bouts of diarrhoea were awful, but it soon levelled out and I'm really enjoying how I feel day to day now. Recommended.
