Look at AJs arms in that picture Supremo posted, there's no way a 45 year old can do that naturally.

Wrestling is essentially their daily cardio sessions especially for a guy who is a bit more high impact like AJ Styles. Take that out of anyone already in tremendous shape already routine and they will naturally gain muscle mass.

  2. I get it’s wrestling and we’re trained to expect the worst of people but I think it’s harsh that every guy who comes back jacked is accused of flaunting the wellness policy.

If you’re an athlete out injured then you naturally rehab at the gym. Not being on the road they will be able to get more sessions in and if your job is essentially as an actor on TV, you want to return looking your absolute best.

  3. The hyperbole used when people don’t like something Punk does or something he does doesn’t land is off the scale on here to be honest.

The promo was fine, one line didn’t land but he’s still over. That was it really.

I dont think anything has ever really encapsulated the true seedy nature of the business like this.

Addict Sunny getting her laughing gear around Sabu while he dangles a bag of pills, refusing to give them over until he busts off.

The boys going "how could she do this to Chris tho?"

I mean both of them deny it in fairness. Wrestling is full of carny stories told in shoots by other wrestlers hunting to get over. It’s a messed up world but it’s probably less messed up than they would have you believe.

Old adage of never let facts get in the way of a good story when it comes to wrestlers.

Or it will be, "well Jey Uso beat him last month for the secondary belt how are we meant to believe him as a World Champion?"

Or you could just do a triple threat and have someone else eat the pin to Gunthers anger and dismay?

Vacating titles you don’t need to vacate is something a moron would do and I wouldn’t see him as anything less. There’s an argument to say Dolph Ziggler never even got his cult audience back after it because it’s so ridiculously stupid to do as Champion.

  6. Any story I’ve heard of Sunny pretty much since the moment she joined the business has her as an absolute cunt of a person so not buying the addiction chat (and I say that as someone who suffers myself from a gambling addiction - though a number of years clean - so I understand addiction) or the chewed up and spat out chat. She was a cunt before the drink and drugs took hold by most accounts and remained one throughout.

She was the worst thing about that DSOTR on Candido which had Shawn Michaels discussed, no mean feat. She is regularly discussed with total hatred by most that knew her as someone referenced.

I mean obviously I didn’t know her personally and it could all be bullshit but there is far too much there to think that there is some sort of conspiracy against her and she’s really just a poor story of what wrestling can do to people.

  7. I also think NXT is an environment where it is easier to get your character etc. over. It’s often talked about how people are poor when they come up but that’s because most of them look like a rabbit in the headlights.

One thing I always remember is Adam Cole’s Royal Rumble appearance. Now I know Cole isn’t a tall guy naturally but NXT I never thought he was small. He came out in that Rumble I thought he looked the tiniest guy ever and no longer felt any sort of threat. The big arena, lights, tron etc. it must be but everything just looked bigger compared to him. It’s why I don’t think MJF would be as successful as people think if he made the switch as he’s the same height.

Raquel looked huge in NXT but looks beatable on the main roster and I don’t think that’s down to booking alone.

  8. Incredible moment and fair play to those who held confidence while I was fairly adamant otherwise. Though going by Trips, the hints were purely coincidence and/or speculation but who knows at this stage - worked me and that’s all I want from my wrestling.

Depends if you consider Nicholas to be a wrestler (that kid that was picked out of the crowd to be in a tag match with Braun Strowman at WrestleMania a few years ago).

Just learned that Nicholas is the son of current referee, John Cone.

Enjoyed Nigel’s “the clap is normally something you’d associate with Ric Flair” being met with awkward silence from the other commentators, during the 6 man.

His fantastic line of Flair coming back like herpes and being just as welcome was also met with similar.

MJF wasn’t medically cleared, but Cole was? Why didn’t they care about Cole?

Not caring about Cole wasn’t even the worst of the logic. He didn’t compete for his Tag Team Championships because he wasn’t medically cleared then was cleared for a singles match the very same night.

I’m normally not into the death match style but they had me throughout that match. Loved every bit of it - Swerve is a proper bastard and that image of him smiling with the blood all over even into his teeth is the stuff of nightmares.

  12. The WWE audience isn’t really full of the takeover the show types anymore. AEW gave those fans a place to go. Even the RAW after Mania has just been like any other crowd.

People in the crowd at WWE now seem to just enjoy the content, cheers the faces and boo the heels. It’s actively made for a better show to be honest.

I suspect Orton will be announced before the show also so that nobody goes in expecting anything else. They’ve been very keen to get the message out there not to expect Punk as they don’t want fans left thinking they’ve falsely advertised or hinted.

I've only glimpsed clips on YouTube as per, but was the finish to the Miz match as bad as it seemed? Like, it looks like Miz was pulling out some stops and actually wrestling a high energy babyface match, then they did a double pin finish but didn't seem to match it properly, and finally they ended with him being flattened, destroying any momentum they had behind someone who has already historically struggled to get over as a face. The whole thing looked a proper mess, to the point that it even seemed to me like the referee was saying he hadn't won!

It could have been planned that the referee was to look a bit confused but the finish would have been fine had he just counted the three and let Ricochet kick out. He totally stalled between the two and three which made it look terrible.

  14. One of my biggest complaints about RAW is I feel the entire look of it is outdated. The slightest of change to the graphics and colour scheme last night for Halloween really helped the show feel a little fresher for me.

Without going too deep and saying too much as not to open up a can of worms on this forum as I don’t know the general thoughts about it all on here, it was very obvious Sami Zayn was not talking about Judgment Day. Can’t fault the man for continually standing by his beliefs that’s for sure.

I feel like people are absolutely reaching that Nakamura promos are in any way hinting at Punk other than one line the other week that coincided. I’m fully expecting the return of Randy Orton.

A lot of women featured on this show. That division isn’t really my bag but I’d be lying if I said I didn’t enjoy most of it. Even the ridiculous Trick or Street Fight. Chelsea Green is brilliant in this sort of part.

Alpha Academy v Creed Brothers was excellent while a little short that it’s left me wanting more. Exactly what you want to do with that sort of thing.

  15. Ryback was finished from the moment he lost to Punk as they were too scared to end Punk’s long reign at that point. Pretty sure he only got that match with Punk as a replacement for someone else too. Not sure they ever got behind him as the guy from there. Don’t see him as a comparable example at all.

  16. Think people are focusing on age far too much. A 40 year old in 2023 is no real comparison to a 40 year old in even 2003. Wrestling and the WWE locker room specifically has fairly cleaned up in terms of the pills etc. That coupled with just the general advances in sports science etc. means a 40 year old wrestler now probably has at least 5 years at a high level and then will still be capable of quality part time shifts after that.

Sheamus has probably just had one of the best wrestling years of his career and he’s 45.

What's up with Roman missing so much of the year? Is he on some kind of part time deal?

He signed a new deal last year with reduced dates. He said at the time he’s worked a full schedule long enough and has five kids to handle now basically.

He also picked up an injury in the match with Jey Uso so unsure if that had an affect or is having an affect on anything.

  18. Probably cheating as it was a lot of his offence but I always loved Taz’s suplexes. Mostly this one where he would get his arm under the leg.

Not in this gif but props to Kurt Angle who sold them better than anyone.
