  1. Football Manager documentaries are always hilarious, mind. Does anyone remember that one which followed a third division team (possibly Leyton Orient?) and the manager went apeshit and challanged two players to a fight, before sacking another (at half-time no less)?

John Sitton, you say?http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rXCgeSsSM48http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y6WxrWT7IG0http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_PPWhtOA2GEIf there was any cause for a team to riot against their manager, these would be it.
  2. Right..we've went in our wee time-machine back to the year 1996. Things are different...What were some of the major UK promotions around this time?

All Star - still running several regular venues (Bristol, Croydon, Hanley, possibly Liverpool and Norwich too)Midland Promotions - pre-tribute days. Not 100% sure if it was 96, but they used a former Gladiator for a while. They tended to mainly do one off shows around the country, so they were off the radar for many people, but were one of the busiest groups.Hammerlock - the hardcore's favourite at the time. The Wrestling Alliance - south coast.
Yeah, Dixon ran the Corn Exchange at that time. They also ran the Guildhall in Portsmouth too.And you forgot the EWA's one show of 1996, 'Ultra Kaos' (Sabu, Whipwreck), not that the EWA was a major promotion or anything.
Lister was at that one, wasn't he? as part of one of his "Hulk Who?" trips? The mid-90s was a kind-of heyday for Dixon shows at the Colston, the shows were almost once a fortnight at one point. Mainly because of the Power Rangers tributes (yes, there were 2 then), but also a cracking feud with Danny Collins mixing it with both his brother Pete and Marty Jones. Brookside & Dean made regular trips together as well :)One question on a totally different subject: How much was "Beautiful People" used during the "Raw Is War'" revamp of Raw? was it just the first episode?
  3. He was an absolutely immense man who seemed to enjoy absolutely everything about what he did, and threw both his weight ;) and heart into his work. I only saw him a handful of times, and never without a smile. Even when splattering Dixon jobbers.Rest in peace :)

  4. just picked up MGS3 for the first time in 6 months, and immediately caught the "finally figured out how to fucking play the thing" bug :) - just got into the warehouse after killing that bastard Wasp man....

  5. Has there ever been anyone who had a heel turn during a major championship reign?

The most obvious answer to mind is Randy Savage, who - as WWF Champion -turned on Hogan in late '88/early '89 when he became jealous of the (naturally well-meaning) attention Hogan paid Elizabeth - saving her from beatings, carrying her out of the way when she gets hurt etc.
  6. I also believe that they did a piece on him on Confidential.

Yep, the segment is shown in full on the "Best of Confidential" dvd, as well as his match from SummerSlam 1992 in full as one of the extras.
This is a very good DVD. Anyone know why they didn't do a Volume 2?
Because they realised the entire thing was kayfabe destroying. Hence they pulled the show not realising that by then it was too bloody late anyway...
  7. Finished with FF7 for now, getting on with Vagrant Story (PSX/PSOne)

Many people were put off this because of the frighteningly complex weapon system, but if you take everything one step at a time you'd be fine. Its drawbacks are because it's so deep, an hour's play will only see you through about 10-12 rooms; and to get the most out of the weaponry you have to experiment a lot with combining blade types, makes, affinities etc. - most of which will be erroneous. So it's NOT a game for ADD sufferers.

On the plus side, there's a LOT on this CD. The music is appropriate in most places, and if things look samey you've been in the same area too long.

There are boss battles aplenty, and what you have on your person at the time will drastically affect how you do. Combos, Limit-break-style attacks, a good plotline with the odd twist here and there; No voice acting (well, you can only expect so much) but the narrative does just enough to flesh the characters out, with one or 2 exceptions. There's no 'experience' to gain as such but several potions to permanently up your character, and bonuses for whacking bosses.

All in all, well worth it if you're patient enough. It's not as rare to find as one might think, and If Square ever consider a remake/sequel.... :)

  8. How does Super Crazy do that flip/nip-up thing?I can do a standard Shawn Michaels style nip-up from being flat on my back, but doing three quarters of a "roly-poly" before flipping off your shoulders on to your feet is close to impossible I reckon.I have a lot of spare time.

You also have a fully functional back. In any instance that is never a negative. :D
  9. What are the real reasons why Smackdown isnt broadcast live? (rather than taped)

because even though the WWE has the capacity to make both shows live (and they were for a long time), it's far cheaper to tape one of them, plus there's less pressure for the SmackDown workers to get everything right at the right moment as fuck-ups can be (and often are) re-shot, both in skits and matches. That really is the real reason.
  10. The lower leagues in baseball (the ones below Major League Baseball) are called A, AA and AAA (AAA being the lowest). There's a huge gap in status between the divisions, probably bigger than between our Premiership and League.

Right premise, wrong order. AAA is the highest of that list, and "R" is the lowest (being 'Rookie')
