  1. Yay, my Number 2 and quote \0/

Although, the picture at the bottom of FF8 is actually from either FF7 or Dirge of Cerberus, as it shows Vincent Valentine. Minor point, but :p

    Thanks for doing this :D

It's from dirge of cerberus. Curse my working too fast!

    the replacement's somewhat better :D

  2. What story is this then?? please do tell as I have no idea who this Lexx is but I'm intrigued now.

Lexx, a female wrestler (and semi-frequent poster on these boards) allowed her then-partner to photograph her in a compromising situation. Said douche then made the photo public and it has done the rounds since, before the forum sided with her and agreed not to mention it again.

  3. Just finished reading Where Eagles Dare by Alistair Maclean- I'd lost it in a huge pile of jumble and thought I'd never find it again. If only my copy of FFVIII'd turn up somewhere in the same vein...

Currently going back to The Great Shark Hunt (Hunter S. Thompson)- an enormous comp of his writings. Quite a heavy read.

  4. Toxicology report now on Fox (510)- short version:

Nancy had 'normal' levels of hydromorphone, hydrocodone & Xanax in her system (therapeutic dosage, more likely for muscle relief)

Daniel had 'elevated' levels of Xanax, stating that he was drugged before the murder

Chris had elevated levels of testosterone (hence he had been taking steroids recently) and 'normal' levels of Xanax. No other steroids in his system.

In short, proof that Chris Benoit had drugged Daniel specifically to sedate him. Plenty of stuff for Fox to jizz over but nothing conclusive to lynch Astin or the WWE over.

  5. I have actually been reading this thread on and off since it started and hadn't read anything relating to wikipedia - i obviously missed whatever else was posted.I would post something sarcastic - but why bother - you quit clearly have enough wit and cynicism for both of us.

Seriously, nobody is having a go for no reason, but the Wiki thing has been covered a lot, on the last few pages no less. People are just trying to stop this thread getting bogged down with repeats of the same thing. OK?
Well then, Mods, let's just call it a day and Gold this thread so that any genuine news can be posted unhindered.
  6. Taking people off the road won't help. That's the reason that some people suggest TNA has a worse recreational drug problem than WWE - the guys just have too much spare time. The only thing that will help most of those issues is serious regulation including random zero-level testing and medical suspensions for injured wrestlers. Regular counselling would make a difference for a lot of guys too, as the psychological impact of being "on" 24/7 is seemingly pretty tough.

I know someone mentioned it before, but what would you think about having an off season? Like the Premiership or any other sport really. Say the three months in between Summerslam and Survivor Series for example. I the context of actual sports, the "season" should finish at Mania and come back in time to build for Summerslam - but that wouldnt work cause there would be no point in cutting off at Mania when the ratings are generally the highest. Even if they were to alternate which show was having its off season. ECW could stop at Wrestlemania for example, Raw at Summerslam and Smackdown at Survivor Series. They would have to take the brands seriously though and not allow inter brand jumping. Like, its not good taking Raw off the air for 3 months only to have Cena and HHH jump to Smackdown for the off season. I havnt put much thought into it, but does anybody think it would work?
Disregarding the obvious reason it won't happen for just a second that's a sound shout provided the wrestlers aren't roped into switching brands (as you say)- however the WWE would again be no slave to a force-of-circumstance where all of the main-eventers of one brand will be completely twatted whilst another was taking a break. They'd also make sure they can guarantee that only ONE brand will be off at any particular time, and - somewhat boneheadedly - neither of the two active brands will benefit from the slack time the 'resting' brand, even if it was a '2-night, 2-part' Raw where pretty much everybody the brand can get TV time (even if it's just promos). The obvious reasons it won't happen- Vince loves squeezing cash out of everything he's got. If any one of the brands weren't profiting at any one time he'd rather can it altogether than give it 3 months off to freshen things. Also, this is three months- ONE FULL QUARTER of a year that the shareholders will see a big fat blank space representing one brand....
  7. Just a quick question guys I thought I would put here. Isn't Scott Keith the biggest Benoit fan around? Is he currently working with a website or made any kind of comment to what has happened? I have read a couple of books and if I remember correctly Benoit was his all time fave.

    Scott's response is here.
  8. I am not sure if anyone has menioned this posibility as of yet, but I dread the strong chance of WWE using some of this in a storyline ala Eddie.

Somehow I don't see his wife showing up.
They wanted transparency in Smackdown's General Management but I believe this is taking it a bit far...
  9. You don't deserve anything, regardless of whether it's a Westling message board. If you committ an act of murder, no matter how well liked you may be, it's totally unacceptable to be praising his career. You don't see this in regular life, and Benoit is no different. It competely disgusts me.

And yet by that rationale you'd expect the thousands of people who were there at WMXX and felt a ton of pride seeing Benoit finally become World Champion to renounce that and never speak of it again, nor take a single shred of enjoyment from his work just because of it.I hope you understand that many of those people won't be willing to do that, right or wrong. It's not your place to say everyone should dash their memories just because you have.
  10. Can I assume that Raw will still be 3 hours tonight, or will the WWE show some sense and knock it off after two to let the staff get themselves together?

  11. "What the fuck" are the only words that come to mind right now. Surely they'd have said if it had happened well before the show other than pass it off as a "heading to deal with family issues" thing, right?
