Samuel Shaw is awesome, if they get the gimmick right it could be one of the best they've done in years.
-
Also agreed on Taz, Borash would be so much better in his position I remember him during the WWA shows and whilst it was annoying he was commentating over the PA, he was great.

And their streak of horrendous live event crowds continues... here's shot of their show from Albany, Georgia last night which drew around 250-300 fans in an arena that has the capacity for 10,000
Â
According to PWInsider there were 1000 people there, but that's still pretty poor
Â
F4W/WON which reports weekly attendance figures from the arenas themselves directly, lists 300 fans for Mobile, 500 fans for Dothan and 400 fans for Albany. These numbers match what they heard from fans in attendance.

Dixie Carter talks more 'changes' in a video statement. Same old same old really.

Jesus Christ...how can a wrestling company that has a weekly TV show draw less people than indies like CZW? I just don't get it. I think being in a huge empty arena like that watching wrestling I'd feel like a right sad twat. God knows how the wrestlers feel.
Â
Agreed. CZW have been going 15 years and only really do events in the New Jersey/Philidelphia area and Japanese tours, I think Cage of Death did 1300 people but as you say they're an independent promotion, TNA is a national/international promotion with a TV deal and doing embarrassing crowds like that, it just gives the impression they've been badly damaged as a company, maybe even beyond repair as CTX has said.
Â
Spike will probably think, 8 years and they've just stagnated and haven't grown one single bit.

Spoiler from tonight:
Â
"Backstage, Dixie talked to Davey Richards and Eddie Edwards. She referred to them as "the Wolves." She said she was looking forward to their try out match next week. Davey said they were passed that. Dixie said that's why she brought them here. Eddie said they signed that morning. Dixie looked confused and Davey said "They said she might react like this." Eddie handed her a package and said that explained it all. Dixie read it and said, "A new TNA investor?" She started texting someone..."
Â
That's right, another "They"! Because, you know, it's been at least a few weeks since TNA did the last "They. Who are they?" angle. I wish They would fuck off, to be honest.
Â
It looks like Sting's finishing up next week too. Let the Mania 30/Hall of Fame rumours commence!
Â
Can see him going into the HOF, but I can't see the Undertaker/Sting match happening, he had the chance a in 2011/2012 when Triple H called him but I think that ship has sailed as it wouldn't make sense for Undertaker to put over somebody older than him.
Â
As for the 'They' (again? christ..) I'd guess at Jeff Jarrett or AJ Styles or some other former reality TV star.
-
Angle's deal is up in a few months as well, and there's a good chance he's not sticking around on less money.
Do you think that WWE would sign Angle if he left TNA or would there be more chance of Jarrett and Toby Keith signing him up to their new promotion?
Â
I think Kurt will go part time, perhaps with WWE or New Japan to keep in shape and given that Jeff Jarrett married his ex wife I doubt he'd jump to Jarrett's new promotion, he's great with coaching young people so he may do something there.

I need to watch more NJ pressers!

SPOILER - Highlight the black box to read
How bad are things between AJ and the company for him to get a 'send off' like that? Just leaves a bad taste in my mouth, still at least he and Sting made half the roster look stupid.

Challenge now also has the rights to broadcast some older TNA programming and matches.
Â
So we're getting more Norman Smiley?! Result!
Â
That, Cheex and The Johnsons.
-
They have just signed a 'multi-year' deal with Challenge.

AJ Styles - Leaving an Impact, Highspots Shoot preview and if this goes in the Shoot Interview thread move there if need be.
Â
Â
Interesting to say the least especially the part about him feeling crap for selling TNA to Samoa Joe.
-
I think the same, AAA/Konnan have been looking to expand for a while and the El Rey Network (English language channel for Latino audiences) which launched last year may have something to do with it, interesting that Jim Ross has retweeted somebody mentioning JJ's plans.
-
Amusing exchange between Rocky Romero and Jushin Liger at a press conference before BOSJ XIX, plus you can tell Romero is a Botchamania/Terry Funk fan.
Â
-
How are tickets doing over here out of curiosity? - I like what they're doing with Magnus/Spud/EC3 in an effort to try and rebuild things but I think they have suffered heavily with mistakes since 2010 it'll take a lot of work especially with the TV deal expiring this year and with Jeff Jarrett and AJ Styles departing the company. I don't want TNA to go out of business at all as I don't like seeing people out of a regular job, but I'd be concerned.
-
They were awful, but at times fantastic in a 'What the fuck?' kind of way and the X-Division stuff with Ki/Styles/Lynn. Remember these gentlemen?

I may listen to Galloway more often.

By the reaction on Twitter - I believe even for Starkey - this maybe his last appearance on the BBC.
-
David Starkey blames 'the black man' and black culture for the riots on Newsnight, also says he doesn't like white people 'turning to black culture'.

Worked for Bubba Ray Dudley/Bully Ray, I'm intrigued by the dark edge to the Willow character.
