  1. PWInsider again...

We can confirm that we have been told by a few TNA sources that the company is indeed done with Spike TV and is expected to begin airing on a new partner in January of 2015. For those asking why so many people from within the company were tweeting about Spike and Bellator last night, we have been told that TNA and Spike are not having an acrimonious break up. TNA will still have a connection with Spike through Bobby Lashley and at this point, the December episodes of Impact are still scheduled to air on Spike at this time. Unlike when Spike cut off negotiations with WWE years ago, costing them money in their TV deal with USA as their leverage was taken away, this situation is said to be the opposite.

The new TV deal is said to be extremely close to completed, if it’s not already. We have heard from numerous sources that it will be a multi-year deal, which means TNA will have at least two more years on the air. It should be noted that many have speculated that the company was going to die at the end of the year, as some felt that they wouldn’t be able to find a new home for Impact. Barring and unforeseen development, that will not be the case. TNA will live on.

All signs point to it getting done in the next week, as Dixie Carter tweeted last week that they would announce a deal soon. We have been told that it will air on a smaller, lesser known network. While no one will confirm where the show will end up, there has been a lot of talk that it will end up on Destination America, which is owned by Discovery Communications (you can see if you have access to the channel by clicking here). It is available in a little more than half of the country, though speaking personally it is not currently available on the plan I have with Cox. I will have to pay to add it here in Las Vegas.

All signs point to the fact that the new deal will bring in less money than the old one did, at least at the start. However, with the new deal the company will have more opportunities in other areas. They will reportedly be able to have more programming on the network than just Impact and they will be the bellwether brand for the new partner, putting them in a position where they will be a top priority for the new network. They will be in a position to potentially help grow a network. Even if they can’t, once the deal is signed they will have at least two more years to “start again” and that will be their plan once they start doing new shows in January.

  2. PWInsider reporting a deal is defintely coming this week and that they couldn't say anything due to the short term deal with Spike

To follow up with what Dave Scherer wrote on the site, we are hearing from TNA sources that their new TV deal is expected to finally be announced this coming week.

TNA has a hold on the Manhattan Center in NYC on 1/6/15, 1/7/15 and 1/8/15.

We are also hearing that this Wednesday's episode of Impact Wrestling will be the final episode on SpikeTV and that the originally planned "best of" episodes will not be airing on Spike after all. It may be that TNA is waiting for the Spike episodes to complete their run before they announce where they are heading.

  3. Fairly new NBA fan, I saw the Detroit Pistons in London even though they lost and I took them in as my team, delved into their history and loved the sound of the Bad Boys era and also my NFL team is the Detroit Lions. Recovered fairly well after a poor start with wins over the Knicks and the Bucks, still early days though.

  4. TNA still have a shockingly decent roster considering. They've got the foundations on which to build a really good product. Unfortunately they are 12 years into their development. If you were building and 12 years into the project you were back to just solid foundations then something would have to have gone drastically wrong.

Psygnosis posts are hilarious. He's buried his head between Dixie Carter's pissflaps and refuses to accept the true picture. Nobody is talking about TNA's in-ring product. Because no-one is watching. So there's no point crying about posts relating to their imminent death with "well the show is still vaguely watchable". Just making a tit of yourself.

Oh fuck off, I've no idea about TNA's future neither does anyone else, I hope they stick around the stuff they've put out since the summer has been good, I'm not allowed to say that?

  5. Who are Mahabali Shera and Bram? You could've just put the names rather than make us click the links to see a squinting Phil Mitchell.

Would you have taken my word for it?

Bram has been a regular part of TNA for months, you may or may not remember him as Kenneth from the Ascension in NXT, he's Ric Flair's son in law. Shera is a guy they signed from India, from their Ring Ka King project they did.

It's all the stars they've lost that's the more worrying thing.  What big names are still there?  Angle?  Bully?  Roode?  Joe?  Is Hardy still there?

Angle, Joe and Roode won the title from Lashley who was probably TNA's best champion in recent memory since Roode's last reign, they are all still there, both Hardys are still there. Bully was let go.

  6. Which wrestlers have signed deals?

Along with Samuel Shaw who signed a 2 year deal in August.

Sometimes I think all the negativity and schadenfreude surrounding TNA is overly harsh around these parts. Then I read a Psygnosis post and realise I don't want to be on his side. Carry on.

    Charming but I didn't ask.

  7. Psygnsosis, what is wrong with TNA that you could actually blame TNA for?

Because I swear the rate this is going, you are going to be in full on conspiracy theory mode when this potentially hits the fan.

Not really, because if they do go out of business, I'd be glad to see them go out on a high.

Until TNA officially say themselves whats going on, i.e going out of business/new TV deal, nobody will know because ever since it was announced TNA would no longer be on Spike the reporting has been poor. 'They'll announce something in 10 days' 'They'll be on Velocity' 'They'll be on WGN America' 'They'll stay with Spike for less money' 'They'll be out of business in 2015' nobody knows, the only things they've announced are international TV Deal renewals and certain wrestlers signing deals.

  8. - Dixie Carter recently told some people to expect a major announcement soon, believed to be a new TNA TV deal but that may not be the case. There were claims of negotiating with a talent who would "shock people" and a new signing that would help bring buzz to TNA but nobody knows who those talents may be. We know it's not CM Punk and Mick Foley.

    - At least some TNA talents who have expired contracts or have contracts expiring soon say that no officials are getting back to them. We've noted how TNA is not doing any serious contract negotiations until a new TV deal is signed.

    From the WON.

Probably Del Rio, he is due to perform at a Wrestle-1 show, he maybe got a deal.

  9.

    Or he's 54/55 years old.

Hogan was like 57 and Flair was about 60 when TNA signed them. Sting didn't wakeup one morning and find himself an old bloke. He's had one foot in the grave for years. And now they dont renew him? Come on, man. You're not making sense.

The crowds got bigger as the weeks tapings went on to the point it was SRO, certainly for the FMM match.

Its hard not to get bigger than 200 people. That's nothing to get the party poppers out for.

Which I bashed them for, but Gaburick has been there a year, it was probably his decision to not resign him, and I wasn't getting party poppers out for them the IZ held 900 people, its nothing new to them.

  10. Magnus is an utter non-entity on the shows right now.

Mickie was due give birth at anytime, that and that maybe Bram has outshone him.

After 9 years and they finally dont renew Sting. Says they are on their back to me.

    Or he's 54/55 years old.

If you have 200 people showing up to your shows, that tells you all you need to know.

The crowds got bigger as the weeks tapings went on to the point it was SRO, certainly for the FMM match. Normally I'd agree but they've been signing new international deals (just last week in Malaysia and Singapore and India) and signed a 5 year deal here in February which tells me something is in the works and they'll be fine.

  11. TNA are absolutely fucked. They have been for about 18 months now. Even if they get a TV deal, what's the point? So they can lose more money on people showing up in their hundreds? Its on its arse. At least Psygnosis is still left.

As far as the Spud thing goes, who knows what is an angle and what isn't? They dont run another show until next year. They could all be gone by then. AJ Styles, Sting and all those others who did loser leaves deals were supposed to be back as well.

Oh stop it, why do you post in the thread then? personally I feel the shows have been good and very consistent the past few months, the EC3/Spud angle is one of the best things going right now for them, along with the tag title series and the development of Bram and Magnus, AJ and Sting were not meant to be back, AJ was pissed at TNA's lowball offer and left, and they told Sting they weren't going to renew. The first half of BFG was good, didn't really care for the second half, but you could tell TNA didn't really want this show to happen (I believe it was Jeff Jarrett who negotiated it before he left 12 months ago) and that it was just fulfilling an obligation.

According to interviews with Gail, EC3, Taryn, Bram and Kurt Angle, I've read over the past few weeks something will be announced very soon, I've bashed TNA many times but they should just carry on with what they're doing now with bringing in good indy talent from around the world and concentrating on their own product.

  12. Well apparently Spud is gone from TNA (at least he's not on the roster page anyway).

Just when his role was getting interesting too.

I get the feeling that maybe a work ;)

Watching a bit of Bound For Glory now.

no spoilers but it's embarrasing. Such a small arena. The 3D hall of fame induction really was cringe worthy, seeing dreamer get emotional in front of like 20 people in that room.

Unbelievable that the Dudleyz and Angle have been in tna longer than they were WWE, get them home so they sign off their careers respectively.

This company is dead and its embarrasing for everyone involved watching them try and make it seem a big deal in front of about 10 people that care

Its Korakuen Hall and there was 1,500 there and they sold out their allocation which is a lot better than some NOAH and All Japan attendances recently, it was a private dinner because Team 3D were leaving, TNA have been moving on the established/overexposed talents on throughout the course of the year, 'period of transition' you could say.
