    Finally got around to watching the original swedish Girl with the Dragon tattoo trilogy, at least the first 2 anyway.

     

    These were the extended editions as well and I must say they were fantastic. I still adore the American version of the first book and prefer Daniel Craig and Rooney Mara as the lead characters, but this was still fantastic. With it being extended there was a lot of content included keeping it truer to the book.

     

    My main gripe was that you can tell from the second film onwards that it was filmed especially for TV as the picture (even on blu ray) was particularly awful.

     

    Also recently watched Life of Pi in 3D. Great film but not as good as I thought it was going to be. Visually it is stunning though and Ang Lee should be applauded for getting that film made.

    Yep, just taken this.Apparently you can bank the free return (if your bet loses), rather than having to use it for more bets.

    Yep, no catch. Although if you lose remember to email 188 with the voucher code to refund the bet, it's not an automatic process.

    Nice one. Well done on Bubba Watson by the way mate. I ended up laying off Duffner and Couples at 16/1 and 18/1 so covered myself and also got E/W back on Mickelson at 3/1 on a placing so pretty good overall.

     

    Lamby - thats a nice way to dip your wicket on Betfair. Just be careful though and not get carried away.

     

    Not been doing too much recently as had a lot on with work and missus birthday and my stag holiday this weekend to spend my winnings on. Also feel the football season is a bit dodgy now; too many teams with fuck all to play for and in the lower leagues i am still dubious and cynical about the goings on. Also some stupid prices. West Ham 4/6 at Bristol City for instance was total nonsense considering they were fighting for their lives against relegation.

    There's loads of free bet offers kicking around. If you google 'free bet offers' or 'introductory offers' then there'll be loads of hits. I think Paddy Power are doing something where they treble the odds for the first bet you place, which is pretty good.

     

    I'd be careful with refunds like the Betfair one - they generally just refund you the cash as a free bet, then you have to place the bet again and win to get real money. Skybet are pretty good for an opening offer; they give you a

    Ahh, right. Yeah, it's a horribly misused word. Well, up to you, of course; I suppose, taken with the most flexibility, it shouldn't matter unless your job centres around writing or public speaking. But I still feel it was right to bring it up - I wasn't saying it to be a dick, I figured I'd be doing someone a favour.

     

    I agree totally. I definitely think it's quite an interesting and relevant comment. As one person already stated, they were glad you brought it up to begin with. At no point did I get the impression you were attempting to be a dick about it.

    Really? Not even taken in the context of something like "national anthem"? It's always felt grand to me.

     

    Yes, really. I think the reason for me is that the term anthem has been diluted considerably. It all links back to when I was a kid listening to various music compilations such "The decade's Indie Anthems" etc etc. I got used to everyone around labelling a mediocre track an anthem that the term lost all it's meaning to me.

    Personally, I knew that iconic referred to a visual or a characteristic. However, I have used the term to describe a track before, and that certainly includes John Williams' Superman composition. Anthemic, whilst correct in the literal sense, doesn't feel grand enough when describing a track like this.

     

    I think the best way to make it work is that the opening credits as a visual along with the track is a iconic sequence.

    I have watched fox news today and it is still major headlining news. They were actually speculating on some sort of cover up from the WWE in relation to the Wiki incident or speculating more of the rumours that has already been mentioned in this thread. Basically ending with "there will be more to come from this weird developing incident".

    After watching that fox report its safe to say this is going to get even worse for Vince Mcmahon. However, i feel neither Debra nor Bill really did any justice for themselves. I felt Bill was in denial about the whole steroid issue, and Debra seemed the be just on a personal vendetta against Steve Austin. Both needed to avoid the shouting match that materialised.
