  1. iPhone/iPod Touch owners need to download "Shift". It's a really clever little platformer and only costs 59p. I'm hooked.

why pay to get it on the iPhone?

    Because

    1) 59p is nothing

    2) I can play it during inevitable train delays during my commute to work

Sorry, re-reading my full post I sounded like a sarcastic twat, didn't actually mean it to come off that way. Just was more wondering why ye'd pay for it when you can play it online free regardless (and I'm sure you could take the flash file and transfer it to the iPhone normally and thus play it that way through the web browser, even if you don't connect online with it).

  2. I've actually gone back to the old N64 for a bit of Doom 64. Despite having the game for years (I'd say about 9-10 years now, as the shop I got it from shut down around then) I never once got round to even getting past level 6, so taken it upon myself to fully complete it.

Get just over halfway through and realize that in each of the main 3 secret levels there's an artifact I'm meant to collect to completely complete the game. So looks like I'll be making a second trip through it after this run.

  3.

And it's not Dragonforce's 'Through The Fire And The Flames'

Its a long vid, but stick with it

I like a good bit of Guitar Hero customization... that however is just stupid as there's really no actual need for it, who in their right mind would look at that and think "y'know, that looks like a fun track to play!"?

  4. How to confuse a ton of people..

Did the old school version of that years ago when at primary school, wrote on a piece of paper "how to confuse an idiot for hours, please turn over" with the same written on the other side... Teacher picked me up and turned me upside down. :D

  5. I guess saying change "how" you post is really the wrong thing, I guess it's more along the lines of think about what you post. If what you're going to say is going to just reiterate something someone else has already said, is it worth posting? I don't think anoyone's saying don't be yourself, or don't have a laugh, but if your starting utterly pointless topics (especially if you know in advance that it's all they are), then don't do it.

And yeah, the ignore function is there, but surely if you have a point to make, it's better that people actually read it, rather than have it ignored, or just skim over it because they're expecting another pointless topic.

But changing how often you post, and how relevant said posts are, isn't going to stop you being yourself, it will just mean people actually appreciate the good posts you make, as opposed to thinking most of them are a waste of time right off the bat.

  6. It's not about the awards being malicious, it's the fact that simply being up for nomination in them shouldn't make you want to get more votes (whether it would make you win or not), it should make you look at your posting habits and make an effort to not be such a dolt/waste of time/whatever.

Anyone doing the opposite is failing to see WHY they were nominated in the first place.

I'm up for the White Noise one, I actually expected to be up for it when it was announced as I often wind up posting way too damned much in a post for what is needed, along with posting needlessly at times (case in point, the Big Brother thread last year), hence I've been trying to cut down my pointless ramblings (unsucessfully at times I admit), and not reply to every thing if someone earlier has made the same point I'd make (along with not rising to prats who do nothing but try and rile someone up).

That's how people should take the nominations (for White Noise at least, but the idea goes for all negative awards). I feel, if you're going to care in any way, try putting some effort into improving the way you post, not give people a reason to call you out on idiotic behaviour.

  7. Medievil on the Ps1, fantastic game.

Bastard, now I'm gonna have to go and find myself a copy of the damned thing, I'd forgotten how great that game was.

You may now consider Medievil bought, played and completed! :D

  8. Bah Humbug. I'm looking for Spyro 2, Future Cop LAPD, Medievil 2, and Megaman 8 :(

I need to look out for the 3 Spyro games as well, they're easy as hell to complete (with collecting everything), but still great fun to play.

  9. Sister's boyfriend just got himself a 360, so as I was there Christmas and Boxing day I got to try out Mercenaries 2 and Mortal Kombat Vs DC.

MK Vs DC is great, although I found it a bit unresponsive with certain button presses, and a bit over responsive on the jumping (trying to do Sub Zero's stuff had me bouncing round like an idiot for ages before he decided to actually throw the ice blast, despite the fact I wasn't even pressing up). But overall it's actually a pretty fun game, even if it's a bit too easy to just button mash and still win.

Mercenaries 2 was pretty damned fun (not played the first one), and the fact everything can be blown to shit is great, and it's possible to spend hours playing it and lose track of the time, so today I managed to get the PS2 version, of which the same can't be said.

Not to say it's not fun, it is, but like I saw someone else (on another board) say, it's like a demo version of the PS3 & 360 versions. In those versions you hit a tree with a tank, and flatten it (actually you his a tree with a bike and flatten it). In the PS2 you almost obliterate your vehicle. In the 360 version the map is huge and tons of stuff can happen on it, and each area feels different. The PS2 version just feels like a giant playground with each section for a different group of kids playing war.

Still, worth picking up cheap if you only have a PS2, but not worth even touching if you have access to a proper 360/PS3 version of the thing.

  10. That looks horrific, poor woman.

Mab is coming for you, by the way. I can smell him.

More predictability on the old UKFF. As soon as I seen those pics I knew someone would mention me. They turned my stomach slightly to be honest...no offence meant to MAT...it's because I'm a bit queezy with pregnancy and she looks to be in some pain and discomfort. Worth it in the end though ey.

To see ones wife in such agony, torture and physical anguish... well it's a rare privilage and one that every man should catch on tape if he possibly can for repeated re-runs later.

  11. I've only really played the drums in Rock Band on the 360, but the amount of worthwhile songs in Guitar Hero World Tour is so pitiful that I haven't even got round to completing the thing. While the original Rock Band had some amazing track choices. Not seen much (well, anything) of Rock Band 2, so can't really comment, but I'd still take the original Rock Band over Guitar Hero World Tour.

  12. After an epic 27 hours of blood, sweat, tears and enough gas and air to give even Amy Winehouse a buzz, I am pleased to share with you all some snaps of my first born, Charlie. Born Monday the 6th October, he weighed a healthy 8lb.

    Congrats dude, :)
