I think my sister in law has lost her marbles. This is going to sound like something straight off of Footballer’s Wives or Jeremy Kyle.

It all started towards the end of 2015 when she split with the guy she was seeing. Then in January 2016, they got back together for a little bit to see if they could make another go of it. It didn't work out, so they decided to not get back together.

Roll on a couple of months later, and my sister in law is pregnant. The guy doesn't want anything to do with her or the kid (he has three kids from a previous marriage), and even goes so far as to say to people that he has had a vasectomy, so it can't possibly be his.

Baby was due in October but was born premature in September, but thankfully all healthy and was home a couple of days after being born. The guy sees on SIL's Facebook that the baby has been born, and figures it must be someone else's kid as it was born in September, so using his detective skills he deducts that she must have slept with somebody in December (she didn't).

A couple of months go by, and then he decides that he wants a DNA test doing to prove that baby is his. SIL doesn’t want him involved in the kid’s life and so refuses, as it can’t possibly be someone else as the dad. After a few weeks back & forth, she relents and says fine to the DNA test.

Now, here is where it gets a bit barmy.

She first asked “is it possible to buy fake DNA tests?”. She figured you could just go on Ebay or something and buy them. Then she thought she would be able to fake a form using Microsoft Word.

After finally figuring out that she’ll have to get a test done, and as she doesn’t want anything to do with the guy she has decided to lie to him about a “slim chance” that the dad could be somebody that she slept with at Christmas, but she will go through with the DNA regardless. In order for there to be a different DNA result, she asks me if I could be the sample for it. “Don’t drag me into your pathetic, metal charade” was the answer of any sane individual I feel.

So now, she has decided to ask her friend, who has wanted to get with her for years (when she asked if we thought that he was “after something more”, “It’s so obvious, Ray Charles can see it and he’s blind & dead”) and would walk through fire if he thought it would improve his chances...and he has agreed to it.

So to summarise, my Sister In Law has decided that rather than face up to the responsibility of being an adult and allowing the dad to be involved in his child’s life, even if it did take longer than it really should have done, she had decided to lie to him, fake DNA results using the guy whose desperate to be with her, all so that she doesn’t have to be involved with the dad.

I've got to ask how that works? Surely the hospital needs to take DNA directly from the kid and the dad?

  2. Just thinking, they havent done a RAW in another country outside the US and Canada for years now excluding the UK. Surprised they don't do them on other tours. Especially Australia and Japan. Is it just because the markets are good when they go they don't need to add on TV costs?

  3. I thought the go home Raw was pretty decent, kept me entertained far more than most do these days. I only skipped Nevilles match as I couldnt be bothered. Really fed up with the New Day but that's hardly a new comment is it?

I didn't see any problems with the Goldberg Lesnar confrontation and any harder bump would have been stupidly risky for these guys.

Reigns Lesnar has really intrigued me now, I like that Reigns is keeping his cool but not totally which is different to the previous agressiveness or cowardliness or Takers Mania opponents. The MMA gloves did strike me as bit daft during the digging, surely they could have found him something a little less padded to wear, although if you comment on that you have to comment on him wearing his singlet too. I guess for arguments sake he was wearing them as he knew he would teleport into the ring and things might get physical.

Really don't see how the tag match needs to be a ladder match, they should rest that gimmick every few years. There is no reason apart from they had ladders for laughs on RAW to do it.

Womens stuff seems dull to me now, last year I was really looking forward to the match, shows how the division suffered from the split.

Wonder what Joe is going to do as well, perhaps get involved with Triple H Rollins, seems a shame he doesn't at least get to squash Zayn on the pre show.

I thought the Rollins Triple H segment was pretty decent. Triple H had Rollins by the balls but only because Rollins wants to fight Triple H so it made sense. He made me want to see Rollins smack him about too. Plenty of foreshadowing of a Shield reunion which I guess will fully happen in a few months when they can shift Ambrose to RAW. That will be a face reunion no doubt, there's too much merch money in doing anything contrary for a start. Reigns will revert to face post Mania I expect. Rollins will probably face Joe at the first post mania RAW PPV, then for the second or Summerslam they will do a 6 man against Joe, Owens and Trips.

  4. Finally carried on birthday raw withb2003 and 4 completed.

2003 About 2 weeks after mania. The main focus is the rock and Goldberg, Austin being fired by buschpff for lying about his health and the makeshift team of Jericho flair and trips feuding with booker Michaels and the returning tonight Nash.

I didn't watch raw then as I only had sky 1 so smack down was more my thing but overall it was an ok episode. I forgot the Dudley's had a small heel run here helping Venis in his chief Morley run and lance storm fight RVD/Kane which is still an odd team. RVD really did fuck all between 2003 and 2006 didn't he.

Jazz vs Trish was fun and the booking around this time seemed solid with Trish vs the current t heel trading the belt being the long running thing.

The Austin Buschpff angle with JR quitting is bizzare when you think about it. Buschpff is more than justified

Rock is still gold but has to have a match withh Jeff Hardy. I'd forgotten he was still employed this late as I thought he got binned per mania. Was he suspended before mania as I can't think why he didn't work it. Steuner too for that matter.h e is also seeing Trish on camera which was wholly unbelievable. As an adult is like to think I have a slightly less slim chance with Trish than that Jeff.

Goldberg thwarts rocks attacks, this was before the shitty booking.

Finally the main eve t felt weird like they didn't change the plans for early evolution but just threw Jericho in the mix and Nash had to wait to come back an extra week.

Overall not the best so far but then we had 2004

Benoit as champ, the week before backlash. Things were early this year. They did some great face to face interview for the triple threat rematch but man outside small and Canadian crowds he wasn't that over. JR says something during the main event entrances about a respectful applause but I hear bugger all.

Foley is probably the most over face getting G things going for his backlash match with orton.

Shelton has shit generic music but is in the middle of his new uber push.

Christian and heel Trish are fun especially the segment's to with Eugene who is following heels around while regal comically apologises. I've appreciated regal a lot more than I used to. I would happily see him moved up to a GM role on RAW if they binned Steph and let him be in charge.

The only other thing of note was the return of grand master sexy for his 2/3 tv match return. Oh and coach is an over heel. The 2004 downturn is more obvious here than before

  5. Read JR's wife came off a Vespa riding without a helmet. If thats the case I hope she is going to be ok but fuck me it's dangerous on any type of bike without a helmet as even at 15MPH you can lost control of your movements as you come off and smack down on the road head first. Hopefully she pulls through.

  6. I have a mate who got fairly tanked up and did the exact same thing but I cant remember is it was while watching mania, at Raw live in london that year or just a random part where we played his music (yes we are that sad). His mum didn't answer and then phoned him back later to ask why the hell he was calling her so late

  7. As I'll forget what I saw if I don't post when I get round to watching them 2002 birthday RAW - 8-4-2002

Top storyline was Undertaker being pissed that Flair can't honor his Backlash title shot promise, Austin deciding he deserved it. Both have matches to determine the no1 contender Taker Vs RVD and Austin Vs Hall. Both decent for the time period. Both win and in the end they are going to fight at Backlash.

Other highlights - This was the beginning of the more serious Molly Holly character, she looked hot before she fully changed her hair color to brown I thought. Jazz is also involved as she wants her title back.

William Regal is gold around this time. He slays me in a promo with Trish talking about how she always has her "Bristols" out. Then has a 2 second match with Spike Dudley where he tries to hide brass knucks but Spike grabs them nails him and pins him for the ever so missed European Championship.

Big Show was at one of his slowest and most pointless periods although it was nice to see Perfect in the ring against him.

Brock Lesnar is green as anything here with some generic music and just standing behind Paul Heyman but he really doesnt have the aura that would develop later in the year.

The Hardcore Title felt stale here, can't remember when it really became like that but I guess the last interest I gave it was Taker's reign a few months earlier. Strange thing here was Bubba Dudley break dancing to counteract the Spinaroonie, I know he did it around this time but when the match finishes they play the hip-hop-elevator-sex music he used instead of his usual theme, it almost seemed like they were going to go much further with that aspect of the gimmick but it looked shit so thank god they didn't. I'm sure Cena would say the same if he watched it.

Overall the set, camera work and feel is newer than 2001 or even a few weeks before but the Attitude era hasn't gone at this point. Smackdown feels fresher and more interesting already from the bits I skimmed through but Raw is very transitional right now.

Next up in probably a week or so is the real Triple H years of 2003/4 and 2005 to a lesser extent at the time points.

EDIT: Just realized this year will be a true birthday RAW although living in Asia it doesn't air until Tuesday morning but will make space to watch that one.

  8. Dawned on me today that my old EWR save that I played for about 4 years on and off would be coming to the end of my timeline on their in about 2-3 months. I think I took the fucker from later 2005 all the way through to mid 2017. Loved the game at the time and took the promotion from Small to Global in that time which seems ridiculous really. Thinking back to some of my booking decisions too I still cant fathom why the last PPV I played had a World Title main even of Chris Sabin Vs Johnny Jeter. How they were over enough to do that I don't know.

  9. I'd definately have Roman or Braun take the title as a heel following Mania, not sure when either the night after or perhaps at the next PPV to give a tad more value to the title from the winner of Goldberg vs Lesnar. The only thing I hope they don't do is have Goldberg retain and then vacate the fucker as then it doesnt really do much for the drawing power if the champion feels only one opponent was worthy and he was smashed down 3 times. Really it's got to be a Brock win followed this time by someone beating him more decisively than Rollins did.

  10. Not a massive fan of TNA these days but I like the idea Anthem are sorting shit out rigorously. Fuck paying someone like mike bennet 1/4 million for part time appearances with no steak in his other dates. The Hardys are more understandable but unless TNA wanted to full embrace the Hardy it's better off just thrown out with Matt and either WWE takes them or they go off and do it all in their own little bubble.

Hopefully TNA will offer solid but not excessive contracts to those who can get behind the shift in ownership, support and push those who they can and produce a good TV product to start.

  11. I think it was common knowledge at the time that Hogan was trying to transition into movies and looking to leave wrestling behind somewhat. I'm not sure how much talk of Vince wanting the wrestling "Babe Ruth" was going on at the time either but Hogan was definitely looking to go on. However things didn't work out that well in Hollywood for the Hulkster so of course he was back by Wrestlemania season next year for his final run with the company in the 90s

  12. Apologies Elcece, I can sit for hours deciding what I don't want to watch on the network so I need ideas like that to settle into a plan. I wanted to finish before this years birthday but I don't think I will get the time. Looking forward to the ruthless agression era as it didnt seem to change much when watching at the time but I expect I will  see big changes between about 02-07

  13. I've recently been doing what I call "Birthday Raw" starting in 1993 and going through the RAW on or closest to my birthday year by year. I don't get that much time to watch so it's taking it's time.

Some things I can remember so far

12/4/93 - Absolute shite not even in the Manhatten center and I had to watch Friar Ferguson's debut.

11/4/94- Again RAW was often nothing here it seems, interesting to see them do a phone in gimmick for the main event between the Quebecers and MOM highlight was watching The beginning of the Kings Court where Lawler gets dumped out of his carry chair by Gillberg, Dlo and 2 other jobbers. Not sure if that was an angle or a rib or a genuine accident. Lawler sold it well though and Vince laughs his head off, these days I think he would blow a gasket

10/4/1995 - On my birthday and the main event was fun but still a basic pre 1997 RAW with nothing much of note. Really noticing the post Wrestlemania season was quite dry before monthly PPV's became a thing. I'm guessing house shows were/ had been the money back then so RAWs were slow burning until the next TV feud is ready

4/8/1996 - This was the first show that was building up to a close by PPV and the show feels so much better for it. HBK Vs Michaels was fun to main event and I really enjoyed how hammy Ahmed Johnson Vs Bulldog in an arm wrestling match was. Also of note was the Yokozuna Vs Vader match with the forklift at the end.  I also never realized the RAW stage logo didn't come along until 1995/1996.

7/4/1997- Entertaining but a gap fill show between bigger event surrounding the Hart Foundation, luckily this was the show before that awful one with matches from Kuwait and South Africa filmed in half darkness. What on earth were they thinking showing that shitty fan cam footage for almost a two hour show. Really enjoyed watching the start of Shamrock here and he came across as a big player at the start.

13/4/1998 - Inconic match/ angle that turned the tide in the Monday night war as they often say. I didn't actually enjoy this show in fact i'd say even though 1998 had better production etc it hasn't aged as well as 1997 in my opinion. Watching the feud between Owen Hart and DX I now am unsure when Owen became the heel because he was very unlikeable here however as I only ever watched Unforgiven from around this time in depth I always thought he was a straight face until after that match.

12/4/1999 - Actually this gave me a headache, there is so much going on, at this time matches were poor. Test and Triple H Vs X pac and Kane feels bizzare with where the storylines went. Lots of ministry stuff and a foreshadowing of the corporate ministry. I have never actually watched any Raw's from this time either and now I finally understand how the events between Mania 15 and Backlash unfolded, the answer fucking quickly. Watch those two PPV's alone and think about the storyline progress in a few weeks. Then watch the Raw's and it will make your eyes roll like a fruit machine.

10/4/2000- This is just great fun to watch, everything is so well run here and makes sense. It's a shame the APA were not made bigger players from the help they gave the Rock. His promo with Vince was interesting too with Vince saying he would've made a great Bastion Booger and other wrestlecrap from around the time the Rock started. I can't recall much talk of the past at that time so it was interesting to see it mentioned.

9/4/2001- I'm running out of time but I will say things changed a lot in a year, subtle things like peopl's acts the lighting and camera work that I never noticed before. Made the show feel less cool. however another entertaining show with Austin still being booed before his heel act got more blurred.

I have a class now so no conclusion just thought i'd share some thoughts.
