Yeah completely agree.
04-09 are just about different enough I think, but between 2009 & 2019 it felt like nothing really changed at all.
-
Saw this scenario mentioned recently -Â
Tonight The Rock announces he is in the EC match to be number one contender for Rollins title at Mania, he wins that and announces that the Main Event of Wrestlemania will now be a winner takes all tag match Roman/Rock vs Cody/Rollins.
I mean that couldn't happen could it?! What about DM Hunk?!

Hangman with the "don't write in the paper that I got mad" reference was fucking funny.
Decent Dynamite, overall. Takeshita vs Ospreay at Revolution should be insanely good.
Taven really impressed me. That bump on the tope into the table...fuck.
Also, Revolution looks like it's going to be an AEW all-timer, at least just going by the matches we have announced:
FTR vs BCC (Mox and Claudio)
Ospreay vs Takeshita
Storm vs Purrazzo
OC vs Roddy Strong
Danielson vs Kingston
Joe vs Swerve vs Hangman
Sting/Darby vs The EVPs
And you just know they'll add another couple matches.
Isn't that on Dynamite next week or have I misread?!

Cody and Seth going on the Grayson Waller Effect in Australia.
Either Rock and Roman are sneakily booking flights as we speak, or they're going to further the tension between Cody and Seth ahead of the big betrayal at Wrestlemania...
Â
Or, it turns into "impromptu" tag match with Seth/Cody facing Grayson/Theory as a warm up for Mania.

Nuts that Solo murdered John Cena and no one cares. Poor Cena.Â
Hasn't Solo lost every single match he has had since he beat Cena that night?
What a waste.
-
Bet they have only faced each other once but I feel like I have seen Orton/Solo enough already.
-
With the way they are heading i could see something like this as a lineup over the two nights...
Roman/Rock vs Seth/Cody
WWE Title - Roman vs Cody
World Title - Seth vs Drew
WWE Women's - Sky vs Bayley
World Women's - Rhea vs Becky
IC Title - Gunther vs Sami Zayn
US Title - Logan Paul vs Owens
Men's Tag - JD vs Awesome Truth
Women's Tag - Kabuki Warriors vs Bianca/Jade
Jimmy vs Jey
LA Knight vs AJ Styles
Santos vs Rey (or a multi man match with both factions)
Still lots of names left off not sure where they go with Orton, Lashley (hopefully his stuff with Kross is done by then), Solo, Nakamura, Andrade etc.
Maybe two more "Wrestlemania Showcase" matches like last year to get some tag teams/women on the card.

Will they go with Gunther vs Bron Breakker?
Think I would prefer a safe option of Gunther/Zayn at Mania, have Bron go on an absolute tear after Mania to get properly over.
If they went with Gunther/Bron this early I think the crowd is firmly on Gunthers side.

Imagine if Reigns goes over, though.
Then we would see the Cody crybabies in full force.

No, I thought that was great. It was compelling viewing, to the point it has me totally sold on the idea of a triple threat. I suspect we’ll get a tag match instead, but I’m a little unsure as to where that would leave Seth and his challenger.
Â
I imagine we'll get a Rock/Roman vs Cody/Seth tag match on night 1, with the EC winner challenging Seth for the belt on night 2 as the opener.
I think this Mania ends with Rock having enough of Roman, Jimmy & Solo, and helping Cody win the title by ridding ringside of the latter two on night 2.
Roman/Rock at Wrestlemania 41.
-
It's been pretty obvious they have wanted this match with Rock/Roman for years, good to do it while they can.
Plenty of time for Cody to finish this never ending story he's telling.
-
Thank goodness common sense seems to have prevailed and they are doing the biggest match possible at the biggest show possible.
Cody did look a bit of a chump though.
-
Yeah agreed I think Drew has been great as a heel.
Punk returning to beat Drew and then face Cody at Mania 41 sounds a great story for next year.

As good a promo as Rollins (finally) did, they had to do that because otherwise it just makes Rollins look like a massive chump if Cody just goes straight to Roman. I imagine that the decision will be made for both of them somewhere along the line. But it's also great because it has the Roman/Rock nonces believing again and they deserve everything they get.
The Punk/McIntyre segment though, god that was great. It seems so hard to create a genuine hateful heel in this day and age and they just went ahead and did it with one excellent segment and with McIntyre finally talking like something approaching a human being. They have to do him vs Rollins now at Wrestlemania, he's become the hottest act they have who isn't Cody in the space of 5 minutes.
Strange comment.
If Cody does go after Roman then Gunther/Rollins I think is the best shout on the Raw side.

Urgh.
Bet you like LA Knight, too.
Absolutely.
Him and Logan Paul for Mania sounds good to me.
-
Cody/Seth is perfect, god bless CM Punk for opening the door for Roman/Rock again.
-
Why do they keep making a big deal out of this Suzuki bloke.
He's lost every match he has had in AEW.

Unless they plan to turn him heel.
Now we're talking.

Can I add another line to my Cody grievance and then I’ll leave it? If he isn’t going back for Roman at Mania then it’ll mean not avenging the Bloodline costing him the tag belts which with the benefit of hindsight will become a pointless occurrence.
Jey will do that for him when he faces Jimmy, in a match that nobody wants.

No way is he able to get over the top rope, he'd have to win it.
Even better, Roman vs Hogan would be huge.

Surely Hulk Hogan going for one last shot at glory and entering the Royal Rumble gets more build than a throwaway comment 5 days prior? It was bants.
Oh, good job you pointed that out.
-
Surely Hogan is entering after that video last night.

If the match has to happen, surely you take the belt off Roman at the Rumble so there's some doubt as to who is going to win that massive match? Everyone on Earth knows Rock isn't winning the belt again.
You could do that.
It means the title plays second fiddle again though.
The title should be the main focus for me, and this match if it happens should be for the title.Â
No idea how you get there though as i doubt Rock is winning the Rumble or EC!
-
After last night the sensible direction for Mania is now this -Â
WWE Title - Roman vs The Rock
World Title Seth vs Gunther (Gunther to win in around 3 or 4 minutes)
CM Punk vs Cody Rhodes
Unless Hogan is turning up in the rumble as he teased last night, then it all becomes wide open!
It's Wrestlemania Season

I can't see it either, but playing devils advocate would The Rock really have to do much in the EC? Comes in last, hit a couple of Rock Bottoms and boom he's the winner.
Would be an entertaining few days on here if it did happen.
