So.....I know there is some other dross on next weekend, but really it's all about the G1 Supercard PPV! That's the big one really!!! ;) The G1 Supercard will be the first professional wrestling event at Madison Square Garden by a promotion not owned by the McMahon family since November 14, 1960.

11 matches, several potential show stealers and live on NJPW World and Honorclub to boot.

    G1 Supercard Match Card:

        Honor Rumble (Pre-Show)
Will Ospreay vs. Jeff Cobb (Never Openweight Champ vs. ROH World TV Champ)
        Dalton Castle vs. Rush
Mayu Iwatani vs. Kelly Klein (WOH World Championship)
Bully Ray vs. ??? (NYC Street Fight Open Challenge)
Taiji Ishimori (c) vs. Dragon Lee vs. Bandido (IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Championship)
Evil & Sanada vs. G.O.D. (c) vs. Villain Enterprises (c) vs. The Briscoes (IWGP & ROH Tag Championship)
Zack Sabre Jr. (c) vs. Hiroshi Tanahashi (British Heavyweight Championship)
Tetsuya Naito vs. Kota Ibushi (IWGP Intercontinental Championship)
Jay Lethal (c) vs. Matt Taven vs. Marty Scurll (ROH World Championship Ladder Match)
Jay White (c) vs. Kazuchika Okada (IWGP Heavyweight Championship)

Bring it on! So much to love about this show!

Fingers crossed that Suzuki accepts Bully's open challenge and gives him a good slapping!

Surely we're getting Drew vs Reigns after last night?

Taker? Not sure who else is a big enough name not in a programme as it stands

Speaking of Taker, I refuse to believe that he isn't going to have any involvement in the show.  I can see him being unannounced and then popping up during an Elias in ring segment - hitting him with the Tombstone and then pissing off.  Keeps everyone happy right?

Yeah I didnt think that was a good segment tbh. Plus, Batista has beaten HHH every time they've wrestled so why would he want the match?
I was expecting it to be Batista wanting HHH to say that he respects him and that Batista has become a bigger star than he is or something like that.

My interpretation was that Big Dave feels that although he's gone on to super stardom outside of the WWE, that he doesn't get the credit for what he's done in the business and has always lived in the shadow of Triple H.  Demanding the match with Trips at Mania would be his way of cementing his status as one of pro wrestlings greats and proving that he was always better than his teacher.

Did I read the whole thing wrong?

Furthermore, isn't that the promotion where somebody got stabbed a while back?

In the space of three weeks worth of television - Konnan was shanked multiple times and Daga had his ear ripped off.  Enough to give old Corny heart failure I would have thought!

Which NXT call-ups have been any good? I feel like they're almost always rubbish, especially with the mainstays whose gimmick is "wrestler." Elias and Enzo & Cass were alright, because the acts were one-note enough that you could 'get' them straight away. Owens and Zayn had a good platform with the John Cena open challenges as well. But what others were decent? Balor?

    Becky? Charlotte? The Shield?

I think this argument about the success of NXT callups keeps going around in circles.  Most have played their part in some way or another, some people seem to be under the belief that every callup needs to go on to megastardom to be deemed as a success story.

This is awful. Which doesn't stop me thinking I wouldn't want to play it. I remember a shop near me was selling this for about £50 back in 1992!

That's anything but awful, piece of art that is.  As a 7 year old I would have done anything for that!

You crown babyfaces as the first champions then get them booed to hell by putting them in there with the two most popular women in company history?

Can't see it beyond the realms of possibility.  The legend/nostalgia criteria is going to need meeting, that will that box.

I'd run with this for Mania.

    Ronda VS Becky
    Lesnar VS Rollins (U title)
    Bryan VS Joe (WWE title)
    Cena VS Braun
    Styles VS Balor
    Lashley VS Elias (I title)
    Charlotte VS Asuka
first womens tag champions who are heels VS Sasha & Bayley

The rest you can throw together.

Strong feeling that whoever the women's tag champs may be, will defending against Trish and Lita.  I'll go with the assumption that Bayley and Sasha will be crowned the first champions.

There's plenty of talent they could bring in.    How about Ryback?  Or James Storm? MVP?  Chris Masters?  Having a few guys with tv exposure would help with the TV show even if only for the short term.

    Chris Masters?  Christ!

I read that it's $150 for WiFi for four days on that Jericho cruise. Great to see the dorks getting fleeced.

Not directly aimed at yourself, but what is up with the constant bashing of wrestling fans by other wrestling fans?

Yes you get a pocket of odd balls turning up for wrestling shows, but the vast majority are normal everyday people.

The upcoming NWO in America one has ticket prices of $99 - $1000.  Sure that's 3 performers, but doesn't require international flight and several night accomodation, plus, it's the sodding Undertaker.  I'd be surprised if the highest ticket price was less than £400.

400 would be a massive ask.  At every Axxess he's appeared at he has been a PVIP so priced around $195 and he was also priced around the same for the photo/auto at Wizard World Con.  Obviously he is doing an overseas event so there is bound to be a mark up.

I think the premium vip packages for Goldberg and HBK at the previous Inside The Ropes shows was £150.  Whack an extra hundred on that and I think will be fair for Taker.  Can't see tickets for the q&a only exceed £50, ITR tend to stick with a reasonable pricing structure for all levels of affordability.

I so wish i could make that. I mean it's the frickin' Undertaker. How pricey is that going to be for the top tickets?

Between 50-250 I reckon.  With the lowest price being the talk only and the top price being the top tier VIP package.  All announced on Friday though.

Has anyone been watching MLW Fusion?

Over the past few weeks I have caught up with all 26/27 or so episodes on yourtube and I have to say I really like it.

Bit of an NXT feel in that you don't know who might turn up each week, good simple storylines, the odd squash match and some good TV main events, plus Tony Schiavone on commentary.

I'd urge if anyone has the time to add some more Wrestling into there diet to give it a try.

It's been a highlight of my wrestling viewing for the past few months.  It has a really old school vibe to it which I love.  I think I'm currently equally looking forward to attending Battle Riot II next April as I am Mania itself.
