Wrestling figures are well stocked in every toy store. Huge sections in Smyths etc, and if they didn't sell they wouldn't bother and give more shelf space to Roblox Nerf guns or Pokemon.

The thing is, with 10yo and 13yo kids, being a coach of an U11 football team and having nieces and nephews galore, I can count on one hand how many kids I know that like wrestling. These figures are surely bought by grown men.

There was a recent report on action figure buying which went into great detail how it's adult collectors that keep the whole figure market alive.  You're definitely right, I mean the odd parent may shell out for one of the basic range at £9.99 a pop but can't see many parents popping into Smyth's and getting their kid the latest series of Elites at £25 a pop!

That's what I've struggled to reconcile over recent years tbh. The WWE has found a way to monetise its content and rake in mega money, but absolutely nothing suggests that wrestling is popular outside of its hardcore fanbase.

I took my nephew to a house show in Liverpool last year and it was 2/3 full at best. OK you can argue that Clash in the Castle was a huge success but that drew in people from across the UK and western Europe. I know of some who went, living in Cardiff, who hadn't watched a wrestling show before and hadn't since, it was like going to a monster truck rally in the Millennium Stadium or something, just an evening's entertainment.

You never see many WWE toys in shops and I can't remember the last wrestling t-shirt I saw while out and about.

The largest toy store in the UK - Smyth's has a huge section dedicated to WWE and carry all the latest releases, The second biggest toy retailer The Entertainer also has a dedicated WWE section.

  3. Aside from announcing the London show back in November, was any kind of date ever leaked for AEW? You'd have to think if they are as speculated running Craven Cottage then the show would be taking place at the end of the season, so June or July?

Got a bit of luck and awaiting a confirmation email. A lot of money I know but its a passion of mine and could be a lot worse things I'm spending my hard earned $$ on

Delighted I got a ticket and will really look forward to the occasion like I did CATC.

Hope it's ok to ask but what package did you go for? The prices are insane!  The top tier package is around 8 grand, I've been to 5 Wrestlemania's and Royal Rumble and the price of that package is probably more than my return flights and show tickets for all my trips combined!  Saying that though, fair play to you because if I could afford it then I probably wouldn't think twice about snapping up one of those early tickets!

I'm hoping to secure tickets in the 100s section, anything more than £120 though I'll be priced out.  May have to settle for a cheapish seat in the top tier even then I can't see those seats being less than £75.

It's in the comparative arsehole of nowhere and doesn't justify the hastle for a B+ show that won't draw anything near capacity; if they thought it would sell out they may as well go the whole hog and tarp off the top tier of Wembley Stadium, getting the same numbers and be a lot easier to move the gear around.

It's home of a premier League team, hosts 2 major NFL games a year, has hosted Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury title fights, Lady Gaga and Guns N Roses.  It's far and wide the most state of the art stadium in the UK and one of the best in the world.  WWE wouldn't think twice about using it!  Tottenham is also only a 7 minute tube journey from Kings Cross and Euston stations via Seven Sisters station for example and has the Stansted Express with direct airport links at Tottenham Hale.  In addition to six different bus routes that stop outside the stadium running 24/7 that will take you all over London.

In terms of being in the middle of nowhere that would be a term more suited to the O2 which is an absolute chore, and having attended at least 50 gigs at the 02 I'd say it's by far the worst post show venue to catch the tube from as the ques are ridiculous.  You'd also be spoilt for choice of good pubs and places to eat at the Spurs without being pushed into the over priced chains in the 02.

Wembley Stadium and Wembley Arena are great places to visit these days, so much around them now including Box Park.  But anyone remember ten years back going to a gig at Wembley? There was absolutely nothing aside from the Wimpy of the high road.  That place has gone through an insane regeneration!

I have 2 cheap tickets, and a hotel with free cancelation, purely as my daughter knows all the names involved and it's half term. But i'm expecting a train wreck of a show, if it happens at all. Between the shoddy multiple countdown resets launch, apparently hacked and now just removed Facebook, and the multiple price drops.. The whole thing is a mess.

Also they are advertising it as a ppv available through Fite yet with only a week to go it's still not available to order or even listed through Fite.

  7. What some people fail to understand is that for whatever reason, wrestling tends to have a wide fan base in those with various forms of  autism and other learning  learning difficulties. Many of these fans love attending live shows and conventions.  My point being is that it's quite easy to group all these people together as simply "weirdos" when they are just people who may not have the same kind of social skills that you've developed and are just enjoying a bit of escapism.

Show a bit of kindness next time you're out there in the real world, not every wrestling fan has been blessed with the superior genes and social skills as those of us who use the UKFF.

As the MLW thread has been woken up. I feel duty bound to say that the Battle Riot match from 6 weeks ago was fucking awful.

The masked Contra guys might have been the worst wrestlers I have ever seen

Nah you're wrong!  Did you completely overlook the return of the one and only Kimchee???

For those interested, Skybet has 2/1 odds on the Lucha Bros winning. I bet £25, will get a £75 return. After Dynamite and some thought I'm convinced they're taking the titles.

Not a chance!  I'm inclined to thinking that Proud & Powerful take the straps at the New York show in two weeks time.

Are they going to be really expensive? They look fantastic, especially that Sabu.

$39.99 a piece, which is double what a WWE Elite or AEW Unrivaled figure will set you back these days.  But take into consideration the huge cost involved in getting this line off the ground and it's understandable.  Zombie Sailor has said that the States pre orders have already done extremely well, and I think the international market will eat these up on Tuesday.

Bruiser Brody, Jeff Jarrett, King Kong Bundy, Paul Roma, Barry Horewitz and Danhausen amongst others have been confirmed for the next two waves. The Jarrett one will be the unmade Hasbro Orange card release, so that's a big one for the Hasbro fanatics.

  11. I know a lot of people have been keeping an eye on the progress of Zombie Sailor's "Hasbro" line, designed by original WWF Hasbro artist Ron Rudat. Well just a heads up that it's been announced that they will now be available to order from the UK, and the 48 hour presale opens up on Monday.  Personally I'll be nabbing a full set!

Meltzer has "confirmed" it's a three way at mania now with edge being a heel.

Is this whole thing a remake of the road to wrestlemania 30 when we saw a face Batista win the rumble upon his return, turn heel the following month  and then Bryan winning the title? I hope so!

  14. Surely Bryan HAS to be in the main event of Mania now? That finish just struck me that they've come to the conclusion that the current booking of Edge just isn't clicking and that was designed to begin his heel turn.  Am I totally off with that assumption?

I'd now go with Bryan having his big moment winning the title in the triple threat then dropping it to an overly entitiled heel Edge the following month at Backlash.  Where this would leave Roman post Mania though I've no idea 🤷‍♂️

Shit, you're right. I hadn't even considered Shane! It would be so typical of them after 50/50ing everyone into irrelevance that they break glass for the all important McMahon Wrestlemania rub.

Unbelievable this line-up. You just have to laugh at this point.

Stuck in an never ending loop.

Age In The Cage II!!! Surely no chamber has had a higher combined age then what we have here?
