  1. I think the one positive with Summerslam this year is that they haven't overloaded the card.  I think at present the event has an 8 match card, where as last year's Summerslam and Mania this year had 13.

They appear to be taking a step in the right direction and placing attraction bouts on the go home shows, such as Zayn/Black & the women's four way.  Would like to see this done more often, as trying to cram every superstar on the roster into one show only ever has a negative effect.

I'm also loving the fact that they haven't rushed Roman/Bryan onto the event and left the whole angle wide open going into Sunday.  Fingers crossed that they don't throw something onto the card at the last minute involving Roman, and instead play out the angle mid-show with some king of huge brawl, which would break up the evening nicely.

Have I missed something or does a losing champ not get a rematch anymore? If that's the case why didn't Seth get a rematch instead of having to do the number one contenders match?

Months ago they made a big deal about how in this new era there are no automatic title rematches.

I'm sure that I saw somebody in a previous thread recommend Fite TV, and if I sign up, you get some kind of credit. Anybody got one that they want me to use so I can get you something for me signing up and purchasing F4F?

Feel free to use mine pal, reference is m5p91y6

Why is no one talking about the fact that this all happened at a Blink 182 concert! BLINK 182! They're grown men in their 30's!

    BLINK 182!

Considering Blink 182 were at their most popular and relevant back in 1999 (twenty years ago) it's safe to assume that the majority of their fanbase are in their 30's!

Can you buy it on Fite to watch it after the live airing? Also can you cast to a TV/is there an app for Smart TV/consoles for Fite? I'm interested in watching, but can't be doing with staying up.

You can cast it straight to your TV/sky box etc at a simple click of the button through the app.

"Good" as in interesting or "Good" as in a good match?

I am interested in it, but can't see it being a decent match. If they keep in short and use smoke screens/bells and whistles it could be fun.

How about just for today we all just pretend to be wrestling fans and enjoy the moment for what it is.  It's bloody Goldberg Vs Undertaker and it's going to be tremendous!

  7. I honestly think that the battle royal is being over analysed far too much, when was the last time anyone has paid this much attention to the harmless dross that WWE can put out on each and every one of their ppv pre-shows?  I had this on when my parents were still up on Saturday night, neither have a paticular interest in wrestling but the match produced a few laughs from them and they were actually engaging with the product.  Mum rooting for the bloke with no legs (Dustin Thomas) and praying nobody hurt him and then cheering on the bloke who looks far too old to be doing this wrestling stuff (Billy Gunn).  Dad laughing his head off over the bloke putting a fag out on somebodies head, being in awe of luchasaurus, the antics of Sonny Kiss and getting a kick out of seeing Tommy Dreamer getting involved.

Point being that yes the match was a mess and production being all over the place, but I honestly feel that there were enough colourful characters involved, with plenty of wild spots to at least keep the casual fan amused for twenty minutes.  It was a pre show battle royal which delivered a feel good finish leading into the main show - what more were people expecting?

He confirmed 'itv', he didn't say which itv channel however. He did take the time to emphasise to the audience that the AEW tv deal in the UK is far better than WWEs and credited Tony Kahn for that.

    They also confirmed

    - Double  or Nothing will be an annual event on Memorial Day weekend in Vegas,

    - the Pac situation is not as reported, still hopeful he will join full time

    - that there will limit the number of titles (and mocked the 24/7 title)

    - that there are actually 22 competitors in the Casino Battle Royale

    - The discussions with Tony and planning for AEW started prior to All In - Tony Kahn paid for Jericho to be flown in for that show

    - Matt Jackson's first meeting with Tony Kahn was in August in London, which I assume must have been on the Honor Reunited tour.

    - TNT was the plan from the start apparently

That's what I can remember off the top of my head.....

I'll assume that the battle royal is 22 men as "Private Party" are being counted as one entrant?

OK I'm in need of knowing if I'm a massive selfish  bellend or am I being OK? Tomorrow morning I go on holiday for 5 nights without my gf of three years. Now I'm not going on a lads bender or anything I'm going away with my dad who is 73 and has done more for me than anyone (except maybe my mum).we've done it every year except last year I love the bonding time with him and don't want to stop. My misses thinks I am a selfish arsehole for leaving her for 5 nights. And has insisted on letting me know this. Am I that bad for doing this?

God knows what she would think of me, took myself away to New York/New Jersey for ten nights last month for Mania and in a couple off weeks I'm at Download Festival for 5 nights.  Didn't even take my Dad with me!!!

Now drinking at the bar in Caesars with Adam Page and his girlfriend. :)

He's back on the sauce now he's not got a match!!!!

Interested to hear what food food joints you've spotted Jericho in thus far?  Like many here after seeing his training video I'm heavily concerned about his physique and his drinking habbits.

Whilst I want this to take off and work I am a little concerned at the Battle Royal for the World Title Match...

Sonny Kiss vs. Brandon Cutler vs. Ace Romero vs. Glacier vs. Brian Pillman Jr. vs. Sunny Daze vs. MJF vs. Joey Janela vs. Dustin Thomas vs. Billy Gunn vs. Jimmy Havoc vs. Michael Nakazawa vs. Jungle Boy vs. TBA.

If they want to make a splash and have credibility with casuals they will need to do a bit more than that line up. Glacier and Billy Gunn? I kinda get it just to fill it out but I know NONE of the guys in that match and this is supposed to be for a title opportunity? They sure better deliver otherwise we may be set to see Omega [assuming] vs Brandon Cutler for the WORLD title. Sounds a little iffy. Hope I am my cynical self as per usual but that doesn't sound like sell out standard fare. Weird how they would put these guys into a battle royal when they have other bigger names that could fill it. Unless its a MITB style cash in whenever the person likes.

Why would you need to be familiar with any of the superstars taking part in the battle royal?  This is a startup promotion trying to present something fresh, the roster should also be presented as fresh and exciting.  Surely this is the whole point?

And as for the names you've mentioned, guys like Janela, MJF and Pillman are already already in some way over with those aware of AEW and The Elite.  This is a great platform to introduce these guys to a larger audience and also be a potential star maker.

Well, the rule is 4 for a start.  Zayn, AJ, Usos either counted as one, or the Miz doesn't count because he didn't do it officially, which might mean he ends up getting suspended like Vince McMahon said would happen.

    Taken from WWE.COM

The latest wrinkle in the ongoing Superstar Shake-up emerged this Monday on Raw when Mr. McMahon announced a new “Wild Card Rule” in which a limited number of Superstars from Raw or SmackDown would be invited to cross brand lines for one-night-only appearances, with unauthorized jumps to be penalized by fines or even potential firing. The number of crossover Superstars was initially capped at three — WWE Champion Kofi Kingston, Daniel Bryan and Roman Reigns started things off by appearing on Raw this Monday — though Lars Sullivan evidently persuaded The Chairman to expand the limit to four.

Worst Raw ever. What’s the point of the draft when you’re gonna have this wild card rule. Lazy writing. And Vince says 3 stars can come over anytime and 6 show up so that’s already gone to shit.

Baron Corbin in a 20 minute match. Fuck sake.

I’ve been ready to give up for ages, but I’m not watching Raw again unless it gets better. Which is looking doubtful.

Only watched Raw in highlight form.  Roman, Kofi, Bryan, Lars and Elias - who was the sixth that I missed?
