  1. Webster looked decent, but Part just didnt turn up. The King game was great. Took some bottle to win that leg to make it 9-9. Did anyone see that Fitton/Anderson match. The commentators were suggesting that Fitton "let" Anderson win. Ive seen it, and he was useless in those last few legs. The two shots at double tops to win the game were really dodgy looking.

  2. I like the look of a lot of matches that could happen here. The best ones would involve Webster/Anderson against the likes of Taylor/Barney/Wade.

Been watching the darts of ITV4 last week, and Taylor is just unstopable. Hes on another level to everyone else in the world. He had a 103 average, and the commentaters were saying he wasnt playing his best. He also had a stupid average like 113 in one game, too. No-one can stop him.

  3. Here's a question for all you 'Puro' buffs:When and how did Kentaro Shiga suffer his devestating back injury? What exactly happened? Did he botch a move or something? Although I've been a huge NOAH fan for the last 12 months, I'm still expanding my knowledge concerning events like this, and I have a lot of blanks to fill in.So, if anyone could answer that for me, I'd be grateful.

I cant remember specifically, but Im sure theres one match he had where he was selling the back a lot. I THINK it was the 1/26 show, which also had Liger/Kanemoto vs Kikuchi/Kanemaru. Im pretty sure in that match hes selling it a lot, and soon after he disappeared. From my memory at the time, it wasnt one big/noticable bump that caused it. Maybe it was something that just got worse and worse, and something happened to make it really bad.
  4. After the Taylor epic, I half expected Barney to perform like that in the next match. A classic case of peaking too soon. Also, how he played against Mawson has been Barneys usual form in the last 6 months, and it was a case of the Taylor match being a one-off.Wade is the real deal. Miles better than Adrian Lewis. Top class player.

  5. Waites is still in the BDO. Hes ranked 4th at the moment, only behind Anderson, Webster and Adams. He had to qualify for this event like all the other amatuers. Im not sure why he was the only BDO guy to make it, though. Not sure if anyone else whose any good from the BDO even tried. Probably not, Id guess.I think Anderson would have jumped by now if he was going to do it this year. Maybe his disaster at the World Championships put his plans on hold for a year.Anyway, Barney/Taylor was a superb game, with Barney edging it 10-9. Whilst Taylor or Barney (Taylor in particular) were not at their best, it was still a cracking game.

  6. Missed most of Saturday afternoon's sesson. However, I did see Taylor's nine-darter. He was also unbelievable in the evening game, finishing with an average of 120. He was on fire. Its not until you see some lesser players that you fully realise how awesome Taylor is.Barny was also very impressive in hs evening match. Big scoring, good finishing.Klassen/Van det Voort was also a very good game. This afternoon its Barney vs Taylor. Hopefully Barney can perform like he did yesterday, otherwise Taylor will destory him.

  7. Gerwen/Thornton was a cracking game. Big scoring, big checkouts. It went a bit shit toward the end, but still.Colin Lloyd self destructed again. 3-0 up and playing superb, and then something just went wrong and he lost 8 legs in a row. Lewis/Mardle was also a very enjoyable game. Similar to Gerwen/Thornton, in that they both started great, but went downhill at the end. Poor Mardle, he had darts to win the match, but lost the last 3 legs.Im liking the look of Scotty 2 Hotty Waites. Was superb yesterday, and was good again today.

  8. Dobromyslova was pretty dodgy when it came to trebles. She was never too far from her doubles though. Thornton seemed to be feeling the pressure of the match at times. He played much better against Anderson at the Welsh Open for the BDO even if he lost.

Absolutley. Her average couldnt have been higher than 80. She stuck with it though, and was great on the doubles. Thornton played poor, but picked it up alot in the next match.

He seemed very shaky. I haven't seen much of him, but is that what he's usually like ? I know that he recently took a bit of time off, so that could also have a say in the way he plays. In saying that, he did still look decent.

I didnt notice anything different with Priestley's style. I was impressed with him, considering hes only just come back from a cancer scare
  9. Some highlights/lowlights from the first night:Dobromyslova putting up a great fight against former BDO Number 1 Robert Thornton. Very enjoyable match. Dobromyslova is hot.The first match they showed on Sky was really poor. Not a great showcase to start the event.Richie Burnett playing abysmal.Priestley playing really well.Mardle playing shit, but still going through.Tonight it gets good, though. Couple of the best matches to look foward to:Michael van Gerwen v Robert ThorntonAdrian Lewis v Wayne MardleVincent van der Voort v Colin LloydLloyd is meant to be on fire, so look foward to see if he brings it to the TV.

  10. Seeing as its a friendly, Id say its more a case of England being too short. Id never back them at that price in a friendly, but you know for a fact that there will be loads of people lumping on England tonight. Could backfire.

  11. [REC]If anything is gonna make me post on here again, this is it. A terrifying movie this one. It starts pretty ordinarily. A Spanish TV crew are spending the night with a fire crew, as part of a TV show called "While You're Asleep" or someting similar. They hope for some excitement, hoping that nothing is wrong when it comes. However, when it DOES come, it's everything other than normal. What I love about this movie is that it has EVERYTHING I love about horror movies. 1) I was shitting myself. 2) It made me paranoid. Couldn't hear a sound without pausing the movie and looking around frantically. 3) It has lots of gore. 4) Makes me jump. 5) Has the sort of climax that makes you want to be somewhere else. The tension is so much, that even the obvious jumps make you think "oh god ! no !", instead of "oh god, not again.". Everything is done at a frantic pace and is absolutely insane.I can't praise this movie enough.

Dont you think it gets pretty much a 100% cliche-fest at the end, though? The whole camera turning in a dark loft, the power being out, them hiding from a bad person in the dark, etc etc? That end part still anoys me. They say they'll hide until that girl goes away, yet when she comes into the room, they try and sneak out of the room, thus being about 1 foot away from her. Silly.
  12. Hitman:

It was OK I guess. Some nice action scenes, and most of the main characters were played well. It also has T-Bag from Prison Break and Desmond from Lost in it, so thats a positive. Maybe it was because I wasnt paying it my full attention, but some of the plot got lost on me. Mostly the part why the Secret Police were getting involved. Im guessing it was because they were part of the whole "cover up" with the doubles, and wanted the witnesses killed. That said, thats got me thinking. Was the President that 47 killed at the end (in church) the original President? The scene with T-Bag in the infirmary seems to suggest otherwise. Im getting confused the more I think about it. Was the President 47 killed at the start the real one or a double? My understanding was that it was a double. The other big thing I guess I dont get is why The Agency then wanted to kill 47. Where they in cahoots with the Pres? Meh, Ive confused myself now.

  13. Seen a couple of films recently:Clovefield:SPOILER - Highlight the black box to read
Enjoyed this one quite a bit. Theres some silly moments in it (Monster creeping up behind them in Central Park, camera survivng a nuke attack, woman not having any after effects of having a stake through her chest, etc), but on the whole, it kept me entertained. The way they handled the monster was also very well done.Rec:SPOILER - Highlight the black box to read
Enjoyed this one, too. The scary moments are pretty cliched, but still managed to scare me shitless. A prime case of this is when the cameraman put the camera up the loft. As it slowly turns around the loft, you just KNOW something scary is going to happen, but even so, when it happened I still crapped myself. The story was good, as it slowly developed throughout, and then revealed all that possessed stuff at the end. Im still not sure where I stand on that. What do other people think about this stuff at the end of the film? Was it needed? Could they just have left it (a la Cloverfield) unexplained, and just as some rabies-like disease that fucks you up once you get bit? Come to think of it, I dont think Im 100% sure what the stuff at the end meant. May have to go back and watch it.Lots of scary moments throughout, and you always had the feeling of not knowing what really was going on (which was good). The end was 100% cliche territory; Power failure, pitch black, hiding from scary fuck, getting caught by scary fuck, etc. Two parts irritated me at the end. The first was why the fuck they moved when that girl was still in the room. "Stay here and she'll never see us" was their plan, so having them try and leave the rom when she was still in there was stupid. The second was the last scene with the woman laying on the floor looking right at the camera. Just looked pretty crap, and seems like a lazy way of getting the horror facials in.Shall be watching Hitman and The Bank Job tommorow.

  14. Ive just seen Vantage Point, too:SPOILER - Highlight the black box to read
Thought it was pretty bad. Not something Ill ever watch again. Nothing original about it whatsoever. It had loads of the classic cliches, such as "Holding someone hostage so youll do their dirty work", "Someone in authority turning out to be a bad guy", "Someone in authority being played by a hot woman", etc etc. Actually, come to think of it, Im actually trying to think what was the point of that guy who summgled the bomb in. I know, he was there to bring the bomb in, but what other purpose did he have in the entire movie? Thinking back, he had about two lines of back story as to why he was there. Silly stuff.Of course, as others have said in this thread, the end part was absolutley ridicolous. How the FUCK could they think this was a good way to down the terrorists? Its one of the least satisfying ends Ive seen in fucking ages. Apart from it not making any sense at all (cold hearted murdering terrorists trying to avoid a little girl), surely they could have found a miles more exciting way for the terrorists to get their comeupance? And there was that utterly stupid deal with the man controlling fans and sniper riffles with a palm top. Having him click "Window Fan....Activate" on his PDA looked abysmal. Not as bad as when the man used the PDA to shoot someone. If youve not seen it, it was like a Nintendo DS game, where he was using a pen to guide the scope onto the president, and then he clicked the screen to shoot. Terrible stuff. Then there was the shitty stuff with the amatuer camerman and the little gitl. All pretty much shit, and only done for the end.Ive talked about it for far too long now. It had the potential to be a good film, I think. There were some pretty decent action scenes in it (the car chase, and the guy using a silencer to talk out everyone protecting the president), and if they got rid of the shiity superfluous stuff (girl, cameraman, news director stuff), tweeked the format a little, and had a more satisfying end, it could have been a nice little action film.

  15. Nice bet, GIB. Was going to mention it last week but forgot. My double came in last week, as well. Pompey won, and Fulham didnt win, so it was a pretty sweet weekend.Onto this week:Sunderland at 2.1, at home, to beat Fulham seems a decent shout. These are the games Sunderland MUST win if they want to survive. 2.1 for a lower ranked side is putting me off, though. Birmingham also look a decent shout. Same problem as Sunderland, though. Lowly teams have must more of a chance of fucking up. Newcastle at 2.70 is also decent, but they are away, so will stay clear.Ive plumped for all three on a treble, which pays 9/1. Only chucking a fiver of last weeks winnings on it, though, as I think its pretty likely one of the teams will slip up. At 9/1 Ill take that gamble, though.

  16. Two Premiership bets that stand out this week:Blackburn to beat Reading (at home), and Man City to beat Birmingham (also at home). A double pays 2.75. Should ( :sneaky: ) both be home bankers. Not much else seems worth it. I avoid betting on away teams these days, so the rest of the home games dont look appealing to me. If you wanted to make that double a bit more tasty, Id add in Fulham to beat Derby. That said, Im not going to do that, as Fulham seem to have a habit of drawing games. Pompey at 6/4 seems OK, but theyre away, so no bet for me.On another point, Swansea seem like a decent shout in L1.

  17. Good little bet there

    Cheers.

However one thing i did notice which instantly caught my eye was Shevchenko at a very generous 13/5 anytime scorer in quite a few bookies.

Nice bet also. Had a gander before the game on betfair, and they were offering 3/1. Hope you had a bet.Ive joined up to that tipping site. Put "50 quid" on Orient to beat Leeds at a huge 7/1 (they drew 1-1). Would have been a nice start to the site for me. Also put 375 on Barnet to win. :sneaky: Not the best of starts.
  18. Regarding the QPR game. Manager recently sacked (which creates crazy results soon after), the team you want to win playing away from home, two things which put me off that bet.Havent looked at the odds yet, but Ill be looking at Villa -0 for tommorow.

  19. Gutted that I didnt grab some of Man City at that value. Didnt realise it was an early kickoff. Pompey were 1.8 which was great value for them at home. Put 20 on Pompey (was worried for a while when it was 2-2) and 10 on Derby - 0, so not a bad day.On a related note, I was gutted last week. The Racing Post tipped up Lescott to be first scorer in the European game at 25/1. I even wrote it on a betting slip, but decided in the end not to go for it. :( Was going to chuck 2 quid on it.No value at all on Everton at 1.8, in my opinion.
