  1. Get Smart

I watched this last night.. it was pretty decent. Had a few really funny moments. There are so many movies out there that are like this.. but I always enjoy a film with Steve Carrell in it.

Oh and.. there was a scene when Khali was with Carrell.. and seriously.. that guy is HUGE. Its even more apparent when he's around 'normal' people.

  2. Here's the premieres on, eh, Sky Premier tonight. Would just like to hear your views on the films that are on..16:05 - Chicken Little18:10 - The Wild20:00 - The Bourne Ultimatum22:00 - Freedom WritersThank you.

I watched Freedom Writers when it came out in the cinema.. it was pretty good from what I remember. Its really similar to Dangerous Minds.. got a good story behind it too.
  3. Watched a few films over the past few weeks.. exams have finished and have nothing better to do!

    Wild Hogs

I enjoyed this alot. Watched it with the family and it was one of those films that you just dont regret watching at all. I wouldnt watch it again.. but its definately something that anyone could enjoy. All 4 main actors are great.. and seem to have great chemistry with each other.

    Harold and Kumar 2

The first one was one of the funniest movies I've seen.. and this one was pretty hilarious too. Not a patch on the first one.. it seemed to just focus on 'nasty humour'.. whereas the first one was just serious humour!. Having said that.. you just have to laugh at Harold's tantrums. Looking forward to the 3rd one!

    Indiana Jones 4

Dont really know what to make of this.. it was pretty good.. but just seemed to plod along a little. I loved the first 3.. and this one wasnt far behind in the 'all out adventure' scheme of things.. but it didnt really keep me gripped till the end. Dont regret watching it.. but dont think I'd watch it again.

    This Is England

I watched this last night.. and loved it. The scene at the end was fucked up... its one of those scenes that just make you stare at the screen in a daze. The lil kid was quality.

    Pirates of the Carribean 3

Loved it! Its so much better the second time you see it. I remember going into the cinema last year thinking its going to be on the same level as the first 2.. but it wasnt.. so I was a bit disappointed. But after watching it again its much better than I thought at first.

Going to watch No Country For Old Men tonight.. hopefully it lives up to the hype!!

  4. I need to see Forgetting Sarah Marshall. Kristen Bell might be my favourite person on earth and I'm also a fan of Mr. Brand. Also I have a soft spot for the silly Judd Apatow brand of comedy.

Those three things make the film a must then!.. Add to that the fact that Paul Rudd is in it too.. and Jackie from That 70's Show make it even more 'must see'.The way Brand acts throughout made me think that he made most of his lines up! (most of it was very Brand-esque)
  5. Iron ManLoved it!.. Robert Downey was great. The thing I loved about the film was that it wasnt just a good vs evil thing.. it actually had a really good story behind it all. Rotten Tomatoes gave it 92%(and they're usually very harsh in scoring).. I think I'd agree with them!.I saw the Hulk trailer yesterday.. even though it looks awesome.. I cant forget how shit the first film was.. I felt like I was in a 2 hour biology lecture.Just like last year... so many good films coming out this summer! Hancock, Indiana Jones, Dark Knight, Harold and Kumar 2!, Superhero Movie looks funny... hopefully they wont suck as some of the much hyped films did last year.

I thought the first film was rather good, and I'm pretty sure (from teasers etc I have seen) that they've turned the new one into another dull generic comic book film. I don't think I will bother with it.
I dont know what the reason was that made me hate it so much... maybe because there was so much hype before I went into see it.. that the lack of action for most parts of the film kinda ruined it for me.Watched Indiana Jones - Temple of Doom today... brings back some memories!!
  6. Forgetting Sarah Marshall

I thought this was pretty good! Not a patch on Knocked Up or 40 Year Old Virgin.. but still really funny in some places. Im one of those that finds Russell Brand hilarious (couldnt stop laughing in the 'lost shoe' scene). Kirsten Bell is just too nice... and I dont think I remember a film where a guy showed his dick to the camera on so many occasions!

Good film if you want a laugh... would probably watch it again aswell.

    Iron Man

Loved it!.. Robert Downey was great. The thing I loved about the film was that it wasnt just a good vs evil thing.. it actually had a really good story behind it all. Rotten Tomatoes gave it 92%(and they're usually very harsh in scoring).. I think I'd agree with them!.

  7. Watched the countdown video earlier on today... I love videos like that. Im not really a boxing fan but do try and catch all the big fights.. and video packages like that really get me pumped up to watch it... just like the 24/7 vids for Hatton/Mayweather.

  8. It was awesome... until the fuckwits somehow managed to overrun so anyone who recorded it was cut off midway through the final.Given that they knew they had seven matches, and each was going three rounds at most, I'm absolutely baffled how they could be so incompetent. It's not like trying to schedule a show with three 12-round fights where there's a bunch of leeway as to how long they could go.

You talking about recording through Sky+?... it worked fine for me  I thought the whole thing was great. Having only 3 rounds made it even better. 12 rounds of boxing doesnt really do it for me these days.
  9. The Last King of ScotlandI watched this earlier today.. and I thought it was really really good. Forrest Whitaker's acting is top notch.. and there were parts in the film that were really gripping. Quality film.Has anyone seen 'There will be blood'?.. I've been wanting to watch if for a while now (mainly because Day Lewis is in it).. is it any good?

  10. Saw The Pursuit of Happyness last night on Premiere. Great film. I don't think I could watch it again because it's so gut-renching at some points. It manages to hit rock bottom in simple, spectacular style without ever losing you before recovering to deliver the perfect ending. The kid in it is excellent, while Will Smith is just phenomenal. It just works so well. Chris (Snr) is fantastic, yet his moments of despair actually hurt me. It's a long time since I've watched something on the TV and wanted someone to suceed desperately.

I watched it last night again too. Great film. Will Smith has been on top form recently. The scene when they were sleeping in the toilets really got to me.I did a bit of Wiki'ing on Chris Gardner.. and apparently he actually appears in the film. Right at the end, before the 'knock knock' jokes.. Will Smith runs into him on the street.
  11. Cloverfield

I really like it!.. Heard mixed reviews about it before.. but I thought it was really good. The beast ended up being something other than the generic shit that I thought it would have been. The handycam view really added realism to the film. I think the 85 minute length was just about right too. Not too short.. but not too long either.

    Juno

This one's been getting A+ reviews from everywhere (Rotten Tomatoes have it 92%!.. and they usually give pretty good films shitty marks). Expectations were high.. and it was OK I guess. Its one of those that you watch.. its good.. but you wont watch it again.

Some funny moments.. I thought the girl was great throughout. Shame the guy from Superbad didnt get much of a part.

Overall.. it was a pretty good film.. and ended up being a family version of Knocked Up.

  12. I went to watch P.S I love you today. My girl's read the book so she was really looking forward to this. I thought it was pretty good.. some funny moments. She however was a bit disappointed because it was 'no where near as good as the book'.Has anyone seen Walk Hard yet?.. Its wierd because.. it only came out last week.. yet Leicester cinemas wernt even showing it today!

  13. No Jim Carrey! :(.

    Anyway..

    Night At The Museum

I thought this was pretty good! Had a great cast with Robin Williams, Alan Partridge!! Owen Wilson and Ben Stiller. Made for the kids.. but I enjoyed it too! The short old man was hilarious!

    I Am Legend

I watched this in Dublin (went there for a minibreak and had nothing to do for a few hours). The screen area is just huge compared to Leicester! And the curtains closed after the adverts.. which made me think wtf!

Onto the actual film. It was really good. Everytime theres an ending where the main guy dies without actually stopping the problem, leaves it a little flat. Had the same problem with Little Miss Sunshine.. where I just thought 'is that it!?'

Apart from that.. I loved it. Will Smith was amazing.. just like he was in Pursuit of Happyness.
