  1. Had a bit of a movie marathon this weekend!...Harold And Kumar Go To The White CastleI watched this again after a year or so.. still really really funny.. a simple.. unique.. silly story.. but worked really effectively. I thought the mix of the two characters fit this movie perfectly.

aint seen this in ages...then when i went to work the other day a workmate said he'd seen it the night previously, we were both pissing ourselves thinking about some of the stuff in that film.the scene where Kumar gets done for j-walking is classic.
The first time I watched this was the night before a major uni exam!.. We were only meant to watch the first 5 minutes to get a little taster.. but ended up watching the whole thing. The scene with the 'hills have eyes' guy had us laughing for ages.

    Pursuit Of HappYness

I thought this was really really good. A real 'feel good' film. The off screen relationship between Will Smith and Jaden Smith was the main reason that the film worked so well. I cant remember seeing a better Will Smith performance.. ever.

Very touching, heart warming film.. with humour scattered here and there.

    Rocky 6

I watched this again in the Cinema.. and it deserves another review.

Fucking fantastic. Before I went to watch it for the 2nd time.. I watched Rocky 1 on Sky Cinema.. and didnt realise until I watched Rocky 6 again.. how identical the two films are. The dog, the fight build up, the underdog status etc.

    Terminator 2 - Judgement Day

Ive probably watched this over 100 times now.. Still one of the greatest films ever made... ever.

    Keeping Mum

This was pretty funny.. not something Ill watch again though.. but dont regret watching it. I thought Grace Hawkins was really good aswell.

  3. A History Of ViolenceWow. Someone on here was positively raving about this last year. Was it Lantern? Anyways, what film were you watching? I don't think I've seen a more stupid film masquerading as a serious one in quite some time. I mean this shit was ri-goddamn-diculous. I remember watching certain parts thinking, this would only work in a graphic novel, and surprise - it's based on one. Don't get me wrong, I'm not attacking the comicbook world, fuck knows I love my Preachers, Sandmans, Blade Of The Immortals and more, but this is silly comicbook violence in what is attempting to be an important flick, and it just does not work. I laughed openly as the film became more and more ludicrous and preposterous. Seriously, each time Viggo busted out his Superman routine I was in stitches, and the deeply unsubtle attempts at contrasting, such as the hilarious sex scene, and the flashing neon sign messages (VIOLENCE BREEDS VIOLENCE! YOU CAN'T ESCAPE YOUR PAST!), didn't help stifle my giggles.Seriously, if David Cronenberg set out to make a comedy, then fair play, mission accomplished. Alas, he set out to make a modern day western cum revenge flick with a message. And boy did he miss the mark. Awful.

Thats exactly how I felt after leaving the cinema. I left with a feeling of 'is that it?' after all the A+ reviews it got. But when I watched it the second time after the hype had died down.. it was pretty good!
  4. I was thinking about this earlier today... When was the last time (if ever) the 'Deadman' Undertaker appeared in the Royal Rumble??

2003 When Lesnar won, 2002 when HHH won, 2001 when Vince won.
No no.. I mean the ''Deadman'' Undertaker.. I was just thinking that I cant remember the lights going out and Taker coming down to the ring during the Rumble..
  5. I watched a couple of movies over the week...War Of The WorldsThis was pretty good.. had its similarities and differences to other alien invasion movies. I thought the tripods and sound effects were really great. Dakota Fanning is also good in this... For some reason I ended up hating the boy!The ReboundThis was OK too.. not as good as Daddy Day Care, and not one of Martin Lawrence's best films.. but it provided some laughs.. thats all really. The ManI think Eugene Levy is great! He has that same 'dad from american pie' character in nearly every movie ive seen him in. There are some serious laugh out loud moments.. the 'He's my bitch' scene is a must see!Bad SantaThis was pretty funny in some bits.. but I thought it dragged a little... The young kid was seriously shot it. The ending was stupid aswell.Garden StateHow cute is Natalie Portman! I thought this film had some good points throughout.. and some nice clear messages aswell.. but its not something I'll watch again in a hurry. Props to Zach Braff (sp?) thought, I thought he was really good.

  6. BarbershopI really like Ice Cube and he's ace in this. He's a barber who wants better out of life and doesn't realise what he has or what effect his barbershop has on people's lives. This runs alongside a sub-plot of the theft of an ATM machine which provides great farcical moments and eventually intertwines with the main plot. A great black comedy with warm characters that is funny and leave you with that fuzzy feeling in your belly. Great stuff.

I LOVE this film! One of my favourites. I think Cedric the Entertainer is hilarious in it. Barbershop 2 is just as good!.. if not better! Any film with Queen Latifa in it must be worth the watch
  7. 'The Warrior King'Oh my god this movie rocked so much. Plot wise it's basically the same as Ong Bak but the fight scenes are 100 time better. The more Urban setting of Sydney creates some interesting fights & the fact there's actually english spoke in this film helps a great deal more.

This is the same film as Tum Yoong Gun (sp?) right?.. If so.. then yeah.. its awesome!
  8. Garden StateI thought this was a pretty good film! Some moments of pure hilarity.. but also moments that make you think a bit. Natalie Portman was adorable! Her giggle gets me everytime :).Leon The ProfessionalI loved this. Great story about a killer and a little girl. Portman was amazing.. she was probably about 15 in this one.. and still put on a strong performance. Gary Oldman was good also!

  9. LA ConfidentialI thought this was better than I thought it would be... had a slow start but got very interesting about half an hour into the film. I'd give this one about 7/10Jackie BrownI just couldnt get into this one for some reason.. Only began to watch it because Samuel L Jackson was in it. Couldnt begin to be interested at all.

  10. After reading the reviews of people on here and some other websites, I decided to get Resident Evil 4. It seriously is one of the best games I've played!. Everytime an enemy comes out you literally feel goosebumps (what with the music thats also played). I've only played about 3 hours aswell!.. Great great game.Has anyone played The Godfather?... what are your thoughts on it?

  11. Coach CarterI thought this one was brilliant, as most Samuel L Jackson films are. It had a 'Dangerous Minds' feel to it, and the story was different to your usual 'underdog team becomes the best' plot.Truman ShowI finally got round to watching this. It was much better than I thought it would be! Nice lil film, and ended at just the right time. Could have been worse if they showed Carrey in the real world etc.

  12. Has anyone watched Battle Royale?.. Read a synopsis of it today.. sounded pretty good. Hoping to catch it on Film 4 later on today.UnbreakableThis one was pretty interesting in some parts.. but most of it seemed to drag on with no real point. The ending was an OK twist.. but didnt seem so great after i thought about it after the film.As someone mentioned before.. Samuel L Jackson screaming after breaking most of his bones was one of the highlights.
