  1. What happend to the SAT's, Divine Storm and the guys in Special K?? They were all over the indies for a while but now haven't seen em advertised anywhere!

Hydro from Special K was / is Jay Lethal

Never really saw much ROH though, that was according to Wikipedia. :)

Quiet Storm wrestles regularly in Japan, and I think that is for Kaientai Dojo.

Cheech & Cloudy who were part of Special K are regulars for Chikara wrestling as Cheech Hernandez & MC 'Cloudy' Day.

Quiet Storm, weren't they in the early days of TNA?

  2. Someone told me that CZW was the number 1 indy fed at one point a few years ago, is this true?

I can see that being true to be honest, back in the days when the big 3 were still going and there was no ROH or TNA, I think CZW had a following. It was certainly preferred over XPW.

  3. From Jericho's Twitter..

After working in the WWE for ten years I wrestled the Undertaker for the first time ever tonight. A true legend and a great experience.

Surely can't be the first time they've grappled?

Not sure of the date, but on an episode of Smackdown during the attitude era, there was a fatal four way; Undertaker Vs Chris Jericho Vs Kane Vs Chris Benoit

I'd assume that Jericho means in a singles match. And he'd know too - doesn't he keep a log of every single one of his matches? Thinking back (for quite some time), I honestly can't think of a time they've had a match, so he could well be right.

Seems ridiculous that there's a fresh, ready-made feud in Jericho vs. The Undertaker, and yet we'll still be lumbered with Cena/Orton/Triple H for until the end of time.

I presumed he meant a singles match as well, but the 4 way was the only one I could find.

  6. Did punk band The Misfits have a connection with WCW in it's later years, other than Vampiro looking like he could be a member and coming out to one of their tracks.

I seem to remember they appeared on WCW programming, am I just making that up?

You remember right . Jerry Only did a few matches at the end of 99

    Seems surreal watching it that.

    Cheers :)

  8. Has there ever been a PAC vs El Ligero match?

I remember seeing PAC and El Ligero on the same card at an IWF show a few years back, can't remember if they were fighting each other though.

Not really an answer really, sorry about that!

  9. From Issue 50 of 'Power Slam' (September 1998):

In the UK, Raw and Nitro are tied: from April through to the end of June, each programme was watched in an average of 240,000 homes per week. (And, remember, the WWF is at a huge disadvantage in the UK: according to the latest figures, TNT is received in 2,039,063 homes - almost twice as many as Sky Sports 3's total of 1,086,351).

As the Hogan vs Goldberg match was on July 6th (the very next week after the above stats) I would presume it won't have made much of a difference to the ratings in the UK for either programme.

    Thanks for that

  10. We all know the story about how near the end of the Monday Night Wars, WCW gave Goldberg vs Hogan away for free on Nitro, which spiked the Nitro ratings for that week in the USA.

Did it have any effect on ratings in the UK or indeed any other country?

  11. I would search for this, but I can't actually remember any details of it :)

What was the name of the, I think, 12 - 13 year old kid who used to post on here a few years ago and was "going to book a show". He was quite adamant that he knew what he was doing and it was going to happen.

    Did anything actually happen?

  12. Hearing FMW referred to as "Obscure Japanese Stuff" has actually quite shocked me.

I thought anyone who used to watch the original ECW would have heard of FMW and at least checked them out. It was only recently they were shown on UK Satellite.

Have wrestling fans really changed that much in so little time?

For the record, I find PUNQ's posts very interesting, I don't reply because I don't know enough to reply, but I am a regular reader.

  13. Recently watched Marty Jones vs Roy Regal (a very young William Regal).

Regal started 1 fall up, decent little wrestling match which is mostly Jones, ends in round 2 when Jones dropkicks Regal in the head and he can't answer the 10 count.

Short but sweet and a nice mix of my favourite era of wrestling with a more modern name.

  14. I've just been watching highlights of a match from the MPW (I think) Masked Tournament from a few years ago, between Dirt Bike Kid and Great Sasuke.

Dirt Bike Kid unmasked before the match (it was only the loser of the final that was supposed to) and as a result, it looked like Great Sasuke literally kicked ten bags of crap out of him.

Did he actually shoot on him, or was it just very convincing? Also, is there any more back story other than "he unmasked when he wasn't supposed to"?

    Thanks.

  15. Nice:
