  1. After playing the Final Fantasy VII Remake I decided to learn and do my own Surf style cover of the original Chocobo Theme. Right proper ear worm but always thought it would make a good surf tune:

  2. Hamilton is fucking boss. Been to see it twice at the West End so cannot wait to watch this. Was putting off getting Disney + because who needs another subscription, but this will tip me over the edge.

There is always a need for some technical advice on here, so I thought this would be a useful thread.

I need help with Excel. I am currently looking after a shared document on SharePoint where my colleagues are inputting information everyday, but the tabs keep getting moved about and throwing them out of order. Is there a way of locking the tabs on the spreadsheet so it stays in order?

Go to Review on the ribbon and you under the protect section there's a few different options to protect the sheet (which would be certain cells you select) or the whole workbook with a password. To protect the tabs you'll probably need to protect the whole workbook. That should mean other's can only input data and can't mess with the format.

  4. Calling 111 at this moment is pointless because you can get the same advice on the gov website they will give you. You only need to call them if you have symptoms AND have been to or near someone who has been to the affected areas. If it's just symptoms, don't bother.

I've got a sore throat and runny nose, but no cough or fever. It's all in my nose ears and throat. So I'm fairly confident it's a cold. Calling 111 and clogging the line when you can just follow the advice online is pointless.

This will all change soon though, as soon as we move to the next phase, I suspect anyone with symptoms regardless will be asked to self isolate.

With every company and their cat either activating or adding Teams to their Office 365 tenancy even MS are struggling with the huge surge in demand.  Even the cloud has finite resources eventually.

We've actually been told to use Teams for group chats and calls as hardly anyone uses it to lightens the load on skype. Problem is no one is ever logged onto it as it's only recently been rolled out.

I've actually got a sore throat today, feels like the start of a cold so I'm staying at home regardless. No cough yet so hopeful it's nothing serious but I don't want dirty looks every time i blow my nose or suck on a Halls Soother.

  6. So oddly enough the current advice at work (a large insurance company) is to NOT work from home. Seem's the VPN infrastructure is straining under the weight of everyone choosing to stay at home and causing loads of network issues. So we've all got to come in the office unless we have good reason.

  7. Here we go again folks. I wanna hear what you're cooking, how you're cooking it, and when you're cooking it.

Doing exactly the same as last year (Pork Belly with all the xmas trimmings.) Did the big shop today and gonna pick up the pig from the butcher tomorrow.

    Plan:

23rd - cook the ham in Coke, and glaze it with a honey and madeira glaze. Make some apple chutney to go with the pork. Maybe make some sausage rolls too.

24 - Make the gravy (still do the Jamie Oliver 'Can't Go Wrong' method with chicken wings.) Pre make the swede and carrot mash, par boil the veg, braise the cabbage. KFC for dinner.

25th - Spend all day in the kitchen bringing it all together. Everything gets cooked in the fat from the pork belly. I fucking adore cooking christmas dinner. Best day of the year. Gonna be eating around 3pm. Ham and Cheese board in the evening.

26th - Bubble and Squeek and a full English Breakfast.

  8. Brexit isn't, and never will be over. Pandora's box is well and truly open.

Deal, No Deal, Remain, whatever the outcome of the current shit-storm, it will rage on for fucking decades. So whatever your stance, saying you want it 'over and done with' is fucking nonsense and means nothing.

I wonder if deep down. Boris is glad of the delay to an election. Given his chosen date was changed, due to someone not checking the Jewish calendar. Corbyn may relish campaigning, but I think so does Boris.

Re: the amendment from Kinnock to bring May's deal back to the chamber. Many seemed to think it was a fuck up, but is it not more plausible the Gov refused to put up tellers for a division, allowing it through by "a technicality"; giving BJ a ready made excuse.

Actually it was being reported the teller 'mistake' by the Government was to try and get an amendment added that would force Labour to vote down the bill entirely. But Labour's lawyers didn't deem it legally significant so the skullduggery failed anyway.

  10. Worst thing about this now is how polarised it is. Before, there were some shades of Grey: Soft Brexit, Hard Brexit, Norway Option etc....

Now, if you don't want a No Deal, you are a Remainer. And to be a Brexiter, you must desire No Deal. That's all that's left in this debate now. I fucking hate it.

He can't call a General Election. The MPs have to vote 2/3 majority for it. It'll be up to Jeremy Corbyn if we have one ( although I can't see many scenarios where he would want to vote against it.)

Ok so turns out we just landed in one of those scenarios. Politics is fucking mental right now.

    The Cabinet:

Boris Johnson (Prime Minister), Sajid Javid (Chancellor), Priti Patel (Home Secretary), Dominic Raab (Foreign Secretary), Stephen Barclay (Brexit Secretary), Michael Gove (Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster), Ben Wallace (Defence Secretary), Liz Truss (International Trade Secretary), Matt Hancock (Health & Social Care Secretary), Theresa Villiers (Environment Secretary), Gavin Williamson (Education Secretary), Nicky Morgan (Culture Secretary), Andrea Leadsom (Business Secretary), Robert Jendrick (Housing & Communities Secretary), Amber Rudd (Work & Pensions, Women & Equalities Secretary), Robert Buckland (Justice Secretary), Alok Sharma (International Development Secretary), Grant Shapps (Transport Secretary), Alun Cairns (Welsh Secretary), Alister Jack (Scottish Secretary) and Julian Smith (Northern Irish Secretary)

Jesus Christ the state of this cabinet. The only silver lining is these chucklefucks have nowhere to hide now.

The thing is with Test cricket, to me anyway, it's not something you watch intently for 5 days. It's more something you dip in and out of, follow the score at work, listen to the TMS commentary in the car, and watch the final session and highlights in the evening. They key days are usually at the weekend so I'll watch more then but even so, it's rare I'll sit in front of the TV all day watching all of it.

I mean, I'm a big snooker fan, especially the multi-session games that allow you to dip in and out, so that sounds right up my street.

  14. Never watched a game in my life, but everyone at work has been talking about it, so I figured I'd tune in today so I could join in the chat tomorrow.

Obviously glad I did, that was absolutely incredible, even if I didn't fully understand what was going on. I understood enough to be on the edge of my seat.

I'm assuming I've peaked already though? Surely it isn't this good a viewing experience very often? Shall I just call it a day as a fan after one game?
