It's a very odd situation to be in & I'm not sure where it's come from?

I think the straw that broke the camel's back was the transgender toilet thing. This overly PC stuff was coming to a boiling point for years - especially in the US with safe spaces & trigger warnings on college campuses - but for most people, that was too far and a lot of them just said "NO! FUCK. OFF!". And Trump didn't give a fuck about PC and they found it refreshing.

But how much of this truly impacts peoples day-to-day lives?

It doesn't - but people were seeing it on the news and there was massive outrage over it in the US, especially in bible belt & hillbilly states.

I'm not saying the transgender toilet issue had a massive impact on its own - but I think it was that step too far on top of a culmination of other things, that made a lot of people look at Trump as the anti-PC solution it.

A friend of mine was in the Trafford Centre in Manchester, she came out of the cubicle to wash her hands, and beside her was a guy wearing a wig & fixing his lipstick in the mirror. Clearly a dude - but in a dress, wig, handbag, make-up, and a stuffed bra. That's a cross dresser -  but what can you say or do? She did or said nothing, but it was certainly a bit weird.

Does anyone know any Trump supporters? It's insane that millions of people voted for him yet I don't know a single person that supports him.

    Maybe they are too ashamed..

Sanjay Bagga is openly a supporter. Yes, the son of an immigrant. I defriended him on Facebook because of it. I'd call him out on something after he praised Trump, we'd get into a discussion, I'd make him look foolish, and then he'd delete all my posts. So I unfriended him.

Did this really happen? Because your usual argument tactics are to be antagonistic and call things gay or stupid.

Yes it happened. Why would I make it up? I was friends with Bagga for years.

I might have called things 'gay' on here a few times, or antagonised people - but never on FB where all my real friends can see. It was a proper discussion; he made a pro-Trump status update & I questioned it, and then he confirmed his full support. Subsequent replies went back & forth, and it didn't take long for me to explain to him how Trump is a racist & a bigot, along with specific examples asking Bagga if he supported proposed policy X, etc - then Bagga just deleted all my posts, to save himself the embarrassment of his friends seeing how the discussion had unfolded. I never once even insulted him - it didn't even get to that. I just asked a few questions. Then the entire post just disappeared.

Bagga's argument was that the UK had too many immigrants already, and they needed someone like Trump to put stricter controls on all the immigrant spongers. This was in the build-up to Brexit, BTW.

Mo Chatra saw it. And I actually got a PM on here too afterwards from one of his friends saying he agreed with me.

Edit: and in my defence of being abusive and/or antagonistic with people on here - I spent my first 4 years on here getting abuse over TWC and in perpetual arguments with little cliques of people - so excuse me if my MO on here is slightly defensive. I'm not like that with my friends.

  5. Any good gaming/computer docs about? maybe not on actual games like the great King Of Kong documentary but more along the lines of Viva Amiga ( which I watched last night and really enjoyed )

Ecstasy of Order - The Tetris Masters (2011)

  6. Nah, you spudwogs hate the English having anything better than yous, doubly more so when it is potato based.

Nah - your comedy & music is better. I can admit that. But not your chippers.

  7. Why is it that a lot of Bellator main events look fixed? Not that it was - but whenever I watch, I always feel short changed by their main events. Probably because they have so many out of shape veterans fighting when I occasionally watch.

Tito went for the RNC, and Chael even didn't try to stop it by peeling Tito's arms off or pushing up on Tito's elbow. Tito never even had it under the chin when Chael tapped. He essentially tapped from a lesser version of what Carmouche had Rousey in. Lame. Chael looked terrible.

Daly looked great though - wow.

  8. Thanks dude. That's hilarious. How the FUCK can he be so bolshy with people from the industry then??? The 97 rumble one he gives Bruce so much shit as in "No you didn't, you shouldn't have" etc

    Little shitbag

Twitter praise for the Flair podcast went to his head very, very quickly. As well as the sudden "fame". I like Conrad for the most part, but he's a bit of a try-hard sometimes. He was a much better podcast host when he started - humble & respectful. Knew his role & his place.

Right, I'm listening to Something to Wrestle With for the first time, and it's good. I don't really know much about Bruce Prichard but like listening to him.

Quick question: who is Conrad? As in, where does he come from, wrestling wise? How is he connected.

He used to pay wrestlers to hang out with him at his house and a few of them subsequently decided to become "friends" with him.

Ha! So he basically pays to host these podcasts? He's never had anything to actually do with wrestling?

Conrad has nothing to do with wrestling - he's a long-time Observer reader from Alabama with lots of money. He runs a mortgage company. He doesn't pay to host the podcasts, nor does he get paid. But how he met Ric initially was by flying him in (and others) to hang out with him & watch wrestling & drink beer & tell stories. He'd pay wrestlers a fee for this - essentially like booking them for a show, except at his house. With just him. Then Ric became his "friend". The Flair podcast offer happened after that and Ric asked Conrad to host it.

Ric mentions it occasionally and Conrad clearly hates it, because it's obviously embarrassing to buy friends. Conrad just laughed & swiftly changed the subject when Ric broached it on the Orndorff episode.

In all fairness, I'd say Ric considers him a friend now, but that's basically the story of how they met.

Did not know Hogan had that helmet fist thing, wow.

I did a cover version of that a few years back:

I wasn't even a fan of the show, but the Twin Peaks tune has to be one of the best of all time. It's like Albatross (Fleetwood Mac) meets Call of Ktulu (Metallica).

    I also liked Diff'rent Strokes:

ALF had a great groove to it - awesome bass:

    The Fall Guy:

And the super hot Anna Sentina doing Seinfeld:

  13. Hogan beating Yoko was great. Bret Hart, at the age of 8, was for people that think dry toast is bursting with flavour. Hulk Hogan, and him actually having a bit of an aura and stuff, coming out saved it for me. WWF didn't get nary a watch from me from 92-97 due to Hart and Michaels. Dishwater dull.

They're the exact same years I stopped watching - but mainly because WWF moved to SKY Sports and I became a teenager and grew out of the style of product they were presenting at the time.
