Iā€™m probably reading a bit too much into it, but did anyone else findĀ havingĀ an advertisement for the Nightmare Family BLM T-shirt, then an hour later havingĀ an angle similar to the murder of James Byrd a bit tonedeath? Or am I finding something that isnā€™t actually there

In that context it is, has their been anything about it online? It's also a stunt I'm sure Darby Allin has done before so I'd say it was a coincidence, a very unfortunate one if you know of the Byrd case.

Yes more and more by the week I feel that luchasaurus and especially Marko are becoming less relevant and more albatrosses around jungle boy stopping him becoming a big starĀ

They're a group with an obviously defined lead star, what do you want them to do? It's in the very early building stages, it won't start peaking until the early Summer.

probably because of the lack of actual raw meat in them. Isn't it like 70% ruskĀ or something?

Anyway, my mate sent me this abomination last night. His new trick is to crack a raw egg in his beans so they cook together. He then stuck a tin of mackerel on top of it. He's a scouser.

Fucking hell! The fucker looks like it's mutating.

  4. Yeah that RAW dating game is an example of when WWE humour doesn't hit a full run, but it's close. Maria was really good in that role, Santino finally got to stop himself from probably being sacked, Duggan brings his bit, Ron Simmons started something he couldn't finish and to keep a steady hand on the tiller you have William Regal who might be the best at delivering WWE comedy sketches, but then he's Regal innit.

Bloody well hope it's the end of it. It's been shite. Where do you pivot Miro away to after this? Cody? Darby probably needs something new after this show, maybe good timing for the two of them to work together? As long as Kip Sabian and Chuck fucking Taylor aren't involved, then maybe Miro can be salvaged in his next program.Ā

No idea. That's actually a fun element of this whole angle to me. It's been really meh, but I have no idea where it goes after Revolution. Miro post this show is going to be interesting, they know exactly what they have, so he needs to start getting more of a shine. I think there has only a been a few people here who haven't minded the whole Miro in AEW so far. I think I'm ok with it because I just haven't seen anything of his since Rusev Day in like 2016? His stuff after that doesn't exactly say he was up to much.Ā

Was he just not being used near the end of WWE?

  6. I do remember hearing a podcast (one of Kris Zellners) which mentioned he left a territory for a shittier one because he was coked out ofhis mind and he wife basically told him he was gonna work there anymore.Ā

  7. Someone I really need to see more of because I always thought he was just ok, but maybe I've just not seen him really go.

Only know his WWF work which didn't give out many great matches and his stuff with Doom in WCW. I know he was a big name in Mid-South. Any good stuff of his I or anyone else need to check out?

    Woaaah, wooooah, oooooh.

I'd love to know how this got on air. One of my favourite clips, and I always forgot two bits. The poor backing singers who don't have the heart for getting through this and his singing partner with those outstanding leather pants. He looks like Quentin Wilson after a bad shopping montage.

  9. 80's Hart Foundation Bret Hart.

Loose Cannon era Brian Pillman is a great pick.

I'd actually say Eddie Kingston for this. As I've said Kingston was always a heard of not seen of before AEW for me and he's absolutely staggering. Cool as fuck, conflicted arsehole who can't help but get hisĀ mouth in trouble. He deserves to be in something better than wrestling to be honest. Captivating bloke to watch, gets you feeling it for real.

  10. I LOVE early Vince because he reminds me of a sports version of Eoin McLove. He looks like he doesn't have a willy. He's just weird.

Favourite duo will always be Monsoon & Ventura for me. It's the best and most comfortable partner for stories that Monsoon could actually excel at for once as Jesse was much like Heyman with JR in that he got some good calls out of Monsoon, though sometimes to amuse himself. You can tell when Jesse is ragging on Gorilla and it's great but always seems not too serious. They have a mutual respect.

Heenan and Monsoon are a weird one, you first think Primetime with those two and then you suddenly remember they called some banging PPV's beyond the famous Rumble 92 match. They kind of blossomed late in a way did Heenan/Monsoon, they only ever really called Challenge and they were TV squashes for the Brain to do his schtick.

Lance Russell is objectively probably the best, I've only ever seen a bit of him but I'm convinced. He treats it all with real respect for how serious you can take wrestling and not look daft, and he;'s just a brilliant host. It's a gaping hole in any memphis footage when Lance isn't there to sit with you.

At the moment Tony Schiavone is easily the best announcer going. A personality you cannot dislike, my non-wrestling fan friend adores him, thinks he just seems to be so happy to be doing anything. He's the nearest we have to a Lance Russell, JR being a bit like what Solie was before he got mothballed.

Bonus to Excalibur and Taz on DARK. Duo I enjoy the most at the moment. Excalibur is tolerable when he's not calling every move and having genuinely great bits of chat with Taz.

Sometimes think i might have dreamt this, clearly that was actually Vince.

Also Rumble related - apparently Randy Orton won it a few years back. And also Orton related...

Little recollection of that whole deal.

On the subject of Momma Benjamin - I can't find it, so maybe it didn't actually happen and is merely a troubling creation of my mind, but i have a vague recollection of some PPV having a bizarre dance interlude of sorts with loads of folks 'Eddie Murphied' up as her. ...DidĀ thatĀ really happen!?

I think this was Brodus Clay but where and when is a mystery.Ā

I seem to remember at a signing event in a nightclub in Coventry before the first TWC Showdown, CM Punk claimed that Heidenreich was meant to be repackaged as a defrosted Nazi, having been preserved via Cryogenics.Ā

That would have been all kinds of fun.

I want to say this was Dan Madigan.Ā

He had some interesting stories, some of which made WWE seems an incredibly callous and horrid company (which years have proven to be more the true side of the tales).

He was also the bloke who had the idea of a defrosted nazi managed by a jewish manager. This was the infamous pitch where apparently Vince got up and left immediately after without uttering a word.
