  1. He was practicing shooting stars in a pool, flopped his legs out and Kanyon told him it looked cool that way. That's how he explains his execution.

I loooved Kidman in the flock. The scratchy heroin withdrawal gimmick was as Grunge as it got back then.  Him being the unlockable character for one of the title chases in WCW/NWO Revenge fried my brain. I saw the silhoutte scratching itsself and immediatly knew this was the best game ever.

Not a big fan of his WWF stuff, although his match with Tajiri at a Backlash(I think) was excellent.

  2. Oh wow, this was a big gripe we had while watching the show. I was soooo sure that they didn't announce the time limits beforehand. Are you sure they did this? I'll re-watch some of the show when I get home to hear what was really up.

That was a staple of WCW matches in the early 90s, Gary Michael Capetta announcing how long had gone by on matches with time limits, so not exclusive to New Japan.

Yeah, but didn't WCW used to start the matches like this, for example?:

BELL- "This match is scheduled for one fall and has a 20 minute time limit! Introducing first.." etc.

That's what I was missing. They shouldn't be telling me how long the remaining time is if i wasn't privy to the time limit, to begin with.

  4. Anyone else notice that they didn't inform us of the time limits before the matches? Every time Justin Roberts went "10 minutes" we were wondering what the time limit was in the first place. It came across as a sloppy go home signal for the workers.

  5. I think El Generico was great for most of his career. So graceful. His finisher didn't make a lot of sense for his gimmick and style, but it looked nuts and his psychology was top-notch.

Mind you, by psychology I mean the actual psychology of how you're supposed to put a match together, properly.

Example: You can use proper psychology to give the vibe of a short, athletic match, even though the wrestlers are on different levels, athleticaly speaking.

Selling one thing the entire match, for many matches on end, does not count as good psychology. It's having an anchorpoint to get back around to, but it's such a small part of telling a story, that you can't always rely on it being compelling enough. Unless you're a reeeeally good sell, which some guys just are.

I can't buy into that critique of them just being 'spot monkeys' seeing as they have the traditional tag-team wrestling formula down to a tee. They know when and where to pull out the big spots and bumps, and they also know how to do a nicely paced, old-school tag match as well as spot fests and more epic, story-based matches.

Also, calling them out for 'not selling' is outrageous considering Matt Jackson's two year long story where the focus was him selling his back in every single match.

Honestly, I think most of the Bucks bad rep (as small as it is, nowadays) comes from people's preconceived notions being cemented by no-context GIFs online, Jim Cornette's ranting and our human nature to not change opinions once you've all ready started it (not saying this is you CB, just a general observation of what I've seen).

The young Bucks do not employ tradiotional tag-team psychology at all, in my opinion. They sell so little that opponents either work their style and do 1000 spots or look stupid because their stuff will seem inaffective because of the lack of selling.  It would also be great if they managed to do one push up by the time the tv-show comes around. I mean, your face is your face, so that's just a shame..but their bodies look really bad.

They also need to stop yelling stuff during bumps/moves. It takes away from the bump/move and the next few seconds as I'm trying to figure out what they yelled and/or why they yelled it.

Very athletic dudes, though, but so are a whole bunch of dudes. Some of them with a better look and mindset.

    uh oh oops GIF

Lol, let the dude say moveset, man. I don't do it either, but there are people who grew up with more exposure to the video games(see: CAWs) than the TV-shows and PPV's. They might sound like Jaden Smth from time to time, but I'm sure they mean well.

You think people criticise a company that may have covered up a rape, fostered a culture of drug and steroid abuse that led to a double-murder/suicide, allegedly helped a murderer escape justice via racism, and signed a deal with one of the most abhorrent regimes on the planet to be "cool"?

Furthermore, you think that just because some big companies have objectionable affiliations, that means all of them do, and therefore it's justification enough to absolve WWE?

    What's ur take?

  9. WWE:

"WWE today announced that EVOLVE Wrestling’s 10th Anniversary Celebration will stream live around the world on WWE Network on Saturday, July 13, at 8 ET/5 PT from 2300 Arena in Philadelphia, Pa."

Kenny Omega(tweet has since been deleted):

“If lining your pockets with blood money is okay, then what’s wrong with trying to undermine a charity show for victims of gun violence? I hear that healthy competition is supposed to be a good thing and yet I can’t help but feel like I’m gonna be sick.”

    Seperate tweet by Omega:

“I’ve said my piece and it opened the door to a very toxic environment. It wasn’t a message to fans, or the boys, just the decision makers. I wish everyone wrestling on any show that day all the best. That is all.”

Didn't see this coming from Omega, but totally saw this coming from WWE. He might do himself a solid not reacting passionatly in these cases. There is a gigantic chance that it will happen a lot more often in the coming months. They don't need to be breaking thrones and making statements and being the first ever this and that. Just undeniably being a good show, that's all they need.

    Thoughts?

  10. If they have at least 10 seconds notice before a commercial break, they should be fine. I imagine just about everyone there has his/her own short, but strong shine or cutoff spot, ending in a big "look at me" going into the commercial. Then when they come back on, they just have to make sure they're back up and running again. If they work their way up to their feet 10 seconds before coming back, they could get some hope, run a rope and get cut off again. Something short and dynamic of the like should fit nicely. I assume most people that work there have a good handle on this and aren't very worried.

  11. First time I was ever exposed to Sable was at Capital Carnage. Christian and Sable v. Marc Mero and Jackie. Never thought any horrible shit about Sable, other than that she didn't actually do a lot. Jackie got her breasteses completely exposed at the end of the match and I was still perfectly fine respecting her as one of the best female wrestlers around. I can't be alone in this, can I?
