  1. I genuinely wouldnā€™t mind seeing Sammy lay down for Jericho in the final. No teasing a turn, just 3 seconds of shithousery and they crown Jericho new champ.

Then of course MJF comes out to cheers and demands his match, which TK grants because ā€œthe people deserve a real main eventā€ or whatever.

MJF doesnā€™t look weak because he beat a fresh Jericho and Jericho can get mileage out of complaining that he only lost because he already wrestled a match.

I dunno, just something a bit different I guess šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø

  2. Canā€™t believe that cunt Jericho has the audacity to sit on the opposite side of the political spectrum than me. Anyway, here he is sending a loving message to a dying 3 year old girl. What a bastard, eh?

    Ā

  3. Yeah but remember that time he botched the Lionsault leading us all to speculate that he was a physical wreck and then the very next week on Dynamite, landed an absolutely picture perfect one and stared into the camera with the biggest shit-eating grin youā€™ve ever seen?

    GOAT!Ā

When it comes to the criminal justice system, in any country, there's no such thing as the "clear objective truth". An awful lot hinges on the quality of defence and prosecutation barristers, the attitude of the judge, and more often than not who's on the jury. To illustrate the latter point, at trial Delroy Grant (aka the Night Stalker)Ā advanced a theory that his ex-wife had stored his semen for over a decade and had conspired with a male accomplice to plant the semen at multiple crime scenes in order to frame Grant. Now, if the "clear objective truth" did in fact exist all twelve jurors would have said Grant was guilty, since as defences go that's an atrociously bad one. However he was actually found guilty onlyĀ on a 10-2 majority, despite his DNA being present at multiple crime scenes. Investigating officer Colin Sutton deals with the verdict in his book on the case, and says he ran into one of the jurors on the case and was told "that the two reluctant jurors had said, from the very start of the trial, before a word of evidence had been heard, that their mistrust of the police and the establishment was such that they would as a matter of principle, never convict anyone of anything". One jury of twelve might come to one conclusion, another jury of twelve might come to a different conclusion. Neither one should be classed as the "clear objective truth".

Right. Iā€™m clearly wording it terribly. What do we do about cases that never even make it to court or sometimes arenā€™t even reported to the police? Do we treat these accused the same way weā€™d treat someone with a guilty verdict? Why and to what degree?Ā
Iā€™m not trying to prove a point, I genuinely want to know.

Exactly what "supporting evidence" do you expect when dealing with crimes that aren't immediately reported? I must have missed all the forensic evidence in the R Kelly trial, yet he was found guilty.

Thatā€™s entirely my point. With these types of crimes itā€™s incredibly difficult to get to the whole truth of the matter. If someone is found guilty in court then Iā€™m all for a harsh sentence befitting the severity of the crime but otherwise, whatā€™s to be done when thereā€™s no clear objective truth?

For the record; do I think Joey is likely guilty of the things heā€™s been accused of? Yes, probably.

Do I think itā€™s best he no longer works in the wrestling industry? Yes.

Do I think he should be sacked from every public facing job he might ever work? Iā€™m honestly not sure.

Some cunts are cunts and don't need debating, healthy or otherwise.

I suppose the real question is why do you feel so strongly about sticking up for these sorts of people? You must realise the impression it gives. I'm curious.

Itā€™s not my intent to ā€œstick upā€ for anyone. If thatā€™s what you think then either my words arenā€™t being taken at face value or Iā€™m failing to communicate my thoughts adequately.

The issue is that this approach overwhelmingly favours rapists and abusers. The vast, vast majority of cases are 'he said, she said'. That's one of the reasons #MeToo had such an impact - when you have a number of women separately making similar allegations, even if none of them are able to be verified, it's far more convincing.Ā

I wholeheartedly agree. I just think we should be able to ask questions on a public forum like this without it being insinuated that those who do are somehow nonce apologists or the like.

That isnā€™t really an environment where healthy debate can happen IMO.

You're always sticking your likes on posts from people questioning if a sex pest should be given a 'fairer' shout. Are you sure it's just "this one"?

When someone is accused with little to no supporting evidence and there are no criminal convictions, just how severely should the accused be punished for their alleged actions?

Regardless of your answer, shouldnā€™t we at least be able to ask the question itself?

I'm a bit lost, what did Joey Ryan do that means he shouldn't be allowed to have a job at Disney World?

Ditto. Granted, Iā€™m not intimately familiar with his particular scandal but something doesnā€™t feel good about this one.

Iā€™m glad heā€™s not wrestling anymore but I donā€™t think the mob should get to decide which day jobs he should and shouldnā€™t be allowed to work.

Again, If Iā€™m missing something then please elucidate.

  9. Hopefully weā€™ll get to see Okada in a high profile AEW singles match down the line.

Heā€™s been one of the consistently best wrestlers in the world for the past 10 years and heā€™s still only 35, with easily another 5-10 years at the top of his game. It would be a shame if he didnā€™t get more opportunities to show what heā€™s really capable of in front of an American crowd.

As an aside; Tanahashi is still so fucking great, isnā€™t he? Heā€™s clearly well past his athletic prime and struggling with injuries but man, when he turns it on heā€™s without a shadow of doubt still one of the best and an all time great. Truly the John Cena of Japan.

Anyway, fantastic show! Despite the shitty build, it managed to over deliver in spades. More shows like this please, just work on improving the TV that precedes it please šŸ‘

  10. I had a dream last night that Tanahashi won the interim title and tbh I think there's a chance he takes it. In my head, it all depends on whoever take the All-Atlantic. If it's an AEW guy then I think Tana takes the interim big one.

    EDIT:

Just looking at the full card over on Reddit. Whilst the build to the show has been incredibly underwhelming, the card itself looks great in isolation. I'm actually really looking forward to what should be a great night of wrestling.

    AEW All Atlantic Championship

Miro vs Malakai Black vs PAC vs Tomohiro IshiiĀ

Ishii injured. Clark Connors to replace.

Not sure this needs the spoiler tag but... Change to a match.

Fuck, this show is cursed! Iā€™m still looking forward to it but I canā€™t remember the last time so many big stars were injured resulting in this many last minute changes.

EDIT: Injuries AND politics thanks to Triple A, the bastards!

It's Aja Kong's move, innit. Just saw it used in real life to knock someone out, too.

The difference being that Ajaā€™s looked like it actually hurts. Love Kingston but his Uraken is limp AF.

I donā€™t care how ā€œlegitā€ a move is but if it looks like shit then get rid. If Jericho can make his spinning elbow look great then really Eddie has no excuse.

  13. I know Ospreyā€™s a cunt but putting that one clip aside, I thought he looked great in what was a fantastic match.

Overall I loved the show, probably even more than the last PPV. Thereā€™s something about a succinct 2 hours of wrestling that really hits the spot.

The NJPW representative in the All Atlantic Championship match will be decided by a 4 man tournament in of itself on NJPWā€™s shows next Monday and TuesdayĀ

On Monday Clark Connors and Tomoaki Honma face off in one qualifier while Tomohiro Ishii faces Yoshinobu Kanemaru in the other qualifierĀ

The two winners then face off on the following night for the right to be in the title match next Sunday

So really thatā€™s just a long-winded way of telling us that itā€™s Ishii in the 4-way at Forbidden Door? Iā€™m 1000% up for that. Hopefully Miroā€™s in there too!

  15. Either Tony has lost his mind with this All Atlantic title or he's planning on giving it to a NJPW or other non-AEW guy. That being said, I do think the belt itself is absolutely beautiful, perhaps my new current favourite in terms of visuals. Let's hope the booking can do the strap itself some justice.
