Towards the end of the match the lights will go out and Bray will be standing there and they will drag Brock down beneath the ring or some shitty kidnap, then Reigns will hit a spear and win. My big issue with Brock/Wyatt is that it's just so weird seeing Brock in a "Sports Entertainment" style feud, he has to be presented in matches that seem like an athletic sporting event and a real big match fight, him getting kidnapped or struck by Bray's lightning effects is just shite.

Ok, why on earth, within the context of the storyline has Stephanie given reigns a chance to essentially get the belt back. The have spent the last few months trying to get me to sympathise with reigns because they are out to screw him, stack the deck and get the belt off him at all costs. Then they put him in a number one contenders match, one match away from a title shot, did the last few months mean NOTHING.

Don't know if this has been put on the forum somewhere else but it appears Tyler Breeze has got heat for apparently asking to leave a TV Taping that he wasn't being used on, rubbed some people up the wrong way.

Personally enjoyed Impact this week, a hell of a lot more than I did Raw anyway.

How bad was that Vince/Steph segment, seriously, I watch it and I'm sat here thinking "someone wrote this, AND thought it was good enough to put on TV in front of millions of people, who will watch it, and listen to it". I am dumfounded.

 

The opening segment just blew my mind, how can Jericho just make a match, and then declare himself the referee!!!! IT MAKES NO SENSE. NOTHING.

 

The New Day funeral bit was the only thing that cheered me up, "Canadian Kneecap".

 

I can't remember every single one but of the big 3 PPV's, Rumble, Mania and S'Slam this go home show takes some beating as being the most lacklustre I can recall.

He showed up with Maria on Impact last week.

 

Decent little show I thought, bit of a reset after the xmas and new year break.

 

Really looking forward to the triple threat No. 1 contender match. Where is Crews, from challenging Balor and being given a proper shove he lost to Corbin in London and doesn't seem to be the focus he once was. I really like the guy, think he has massive upside, looks good, talks well and the way he presents himself and represents the company you could see Vince shoving him on a talk show or something thinking people will look at him and be impressed.

I wouldn't be surprised if Paige returns as Sister Abigail as it seems she's disappeared from tv all of a sudden. 

 

Other news apparently Sunny is to sell her HOF ring, I guess there's not much demand for her skype shows these days.

It's depressing as fuck when you hear the start to Steph's music, here we go again. Just knock it on the head, I like Regal on NXT, a fair GM or Authority figure that doesn't kiss ass but don't take any shit either, just makes logical decisions within the context of the show. How long have they been at this now, it's nuts.

This might have been resolved logically but what ever happened to the Miz/Neville Mentoring angle? Did Neville attack Miz at some point and say fuck off I'm good as I am? I sometimes zone out when I'm watching Raw and miss things.

 

 

I was half expecting all the faces to run down to the ring and start fighting the heels (Ambrose, Ryback, Uso's etc) but I'm guessing that will happen on the go home raw before the rumble. 

 

Along these lines...has it ever been explained why Ambrose (Roman's best friend) and the Usos (Roman's family) never, or rarely, run in to help him?

 

 

Don't be silly, that would require some logical booking, like, I dunno have Vince just extend the opening promo when he announced the match by 2 minutes explaining if Romans allies were to interfere THEY'RE FIIIIIIRRRREEED. At least TRY to tie up the loose ends, and maybe put in place some rules, ya know so people know what they are watching. That ending segment was the biggest pile of shit in a while, well since the Sheamus/Reigns 20 minute Tata Tots promo.

Anyone got either the Backlund book or Bill Apter's book yet?

 

Just finished the Bill Apter book, really enjoyed it, some cracking stories, it isn't chronological, kinda jumps about, good to be able to pick up and skip about the different chapters. Story about him having to watch Snuka at the request of Vince Sr who had to get him back to New York for a MSG show and Apter had some bother keeping Jimmy on track. I'd give it a look.

 

Before that I finally finished Backlund's book, the length of it was pretty intimidating at first, not having much time on my hands but it flew by, loved it.

That spike Hurricanrana is a thing of beauty.

That Del Rio vs Kalisto match was my favourite thing on Raw for ages, good promo by Del Rio beforehand, showed some passion finally, really good match and the underdog victory for a feel good moment.

 

Great stuff, Kalisto could be a star I reckon, the people are genuinely behind him, seems a decent, humble sort of guy, stick him in more underdog matches against big guys and watch the merchandise fly off the shelves.

Can't do that!!! This is for life now, it's like an annoying wart or something just gotta live with it.

Didn't dare miss one of their voyeur backstage promo's, seeing Matt Hardy feed his baby through a crack in the door or something.

It's mental, I kept pausing it, going into the kitchen to get a drink and a biscuit and hoping when I came back the buffering bar at the bottom would magically be 25 minutes further on than where I left it, but no. It breaks my soul when there is 56 minutes of part one and I'm 18 minutes in, and fucking Abyss is on his way out and they try to play like he's a monster even after the cesspool booking of the last 3 decades has made him into a big goofy chump. Still at least I got to see Grado get chucked on some thumb tacks so it paid off for me anyway.

Watched the One Night Only show yesterday afternoon as had a few hours to kill, lord above, TNA is such a slog to watch, I got an hour in and it felt like I'd been watching it 5 hours, it's just so so bad, the company is dead. It's like watching an animal in pain or something and you just have it put down for it's own good, this is what needs to happen, it needs to be put down, the Wrestlers phone it in, the announcing is a mess, the fucking Pope called the tag titles the "WWE Titles" to which Matthews replied "hey I was there x amount of years and haven't made that mistake yet". It's just all so shit, I have never seen a weaker division than the current X-Division, fuck off with it, the 4 way was Mandrews (WHO), Crazzy Steve (Yes, An insane clown gimmick in 2016), DJ-Z and the champ Tigre Uno (Who just isn't over in any way shape or form), it's a joke, they did a few botched moves and they was gone, nothing mattered.

 

Also listening to Dixie on the PWTorch livecast, the Woman is certifiable, "we have the best roster and the best wrestling it's how we have managed to stay in business", NO, YOU DON'T. It's 2016 and you are featuring an overweight blown up Matt Hardy in the main event, a shite X-Division and a non existent tag division, the challengers to the Wolves titles were 2 teams that were formed on Impact a week ago.

 

The absurd thing is, among all this shit EC3 remains one of my favourite characters in Wrestling, I think he carries himself like a star, he looks the part, he talks well and is a shining light.

What a cluster fuck of a main event, what the hell happened with Vince at the end, was he supposed to stay down facing the tron, or even out on the floor, he was up, and staring right at Sheamus when he had the pin, just count the 3 you old fool, he then fell backwards and beckoned Armstrong.

 

Vince looks bad, real bad, embarrassing stuff.

Don't want to be long winded, enjoyed the show as a whole. I think the Ishii/Shibata actually went a little far for my taste to be honest in terms of no selling and one upmanship, sitting down arms folded in the centre of the ring waiting for the kick, I don't know why but I mentally checked out a little at that point. I like both guys but I think the match almost became a parody of itself and the style.

 

Superb main event.

 

Oh boy, the commentary, I like Kev Kelly but I couldn't hack Striker, he makes me feel ill. Tatsu was hilarious, I spent 2 hours wondering if it was a wind up or a rib, he just never said fuck all or if he did it was a one word answer, very odd, I'd have liked to see Bobby Fish join the commentary team after he was in the first match, he comes across well on ROH TV.

He had a match with 2 Cold Scorpio early/mid Nineties that I think went the time limit, or there was a winner right on the bell?? I can't check at the moment but I remember liking that.

Can't see a thread for the New Japan Wrestle Kingdom but the commentary, good god. Matt Striker winds me up more than anybody in Wrestling I reckon, what a smarmy, try hard twat he really is. Why does he acknowledge the fact that he gets a bad rap in certain quarters online, why do it, just call the action in the ring and stop trying so damn hard. I actually switched to Japanese commentary for the second half of the show. Annoying little fucker.
