Anyway, the videos probably a fake anyway.

It’s definitely fake. The person across the road waiting to film it. A copper just walking down that stretch of road randomly. Still, was mildly amusing. The reactions in the replies have been funnier by the people who want justice taken.

  2. That’s not true. A lot of UK fans go to Dublin a lot for OTT shows. And all seem to get relatively cheap flights too. The thing is, this stars Progress have are mostly NXT UK contracted wrestlers and they’re in a situation where they can’t have non contracted wrestlers go over the majority of the time. They can put on a show, but there’s no one really who’s a draw for them now. Cara Noir has gained a following, but he’s no Walter or Pete Dunne. Or an old regular import like Matt Riddle.

I’m sure Progress have moved dates before because of something WWE related? They’ve definitely moved a show or two around so wouldn’t be surprised if this one that clashes does as well.

  3. All those kick outs in the main event were ridiculous, but the worst one was after Fish and O’Reilly did their finishing move on the outside and I believe Cole hit 3 super kicks and then the shining wizard to the back of Ciampas head. That should’ve ended it. But no, we have to go back to an old feud, this time featuring cringey evil Johnny.

I like Cole, Ciampa and Gargano, but these ROH mid 2000s main events they’re putting on are getting silly now. Supremo makes a good point with how they’re trying to top Almas vs Gargano. I loved that match and don’t need to see it being copied or made worse by self indulgent wankfests. But they know the live crowd will eat it up and react how they want to with fight forever and this is awesome chants that it won’t change.

Tag match was excellent as predicted with those four guys. Would love to see Riddle vs O’Reilly one on one in a mini feud. I think they would have some great matches.

I hope Tegan is okay. That was a nasty looking bump she took from taller Sonya Deville.

  4. While they were never the greatest in ring, I had a soft spot for Deuce and Domino. They had a great little feud with London and Kendrick and I loved the Crack Em In Da Mouth finisher. And they was around and feuded with one of the best strange bedfellows tag team - Matt Hardy and MVP.

I haven't jumped into the RAW thread in long, long, long while but I had to double check that WWE ran an angle where Shayna Baszler bit Becky Lynch's neck which resulted in her mouth being covered in blood. I saw the photos on Twitter and immediately assumed it was some weird Photoshop meme.

It’s all a build up to the Becky the Vampire Slayer merch that will no doubt be coming out.

  6. ROH announced they’re bringing the Pure Championship back with a tournament starting in April to decide the winner.

I don’t know if this is a Marty influence or not, but at least they’re creating a bit of buzz again. I remember really enjoying it when it was first round but haven’t watched any pure matches in years now.

My only grumble participants were Kelly Kelly and argubly Santino but they did reek of last minute Sasha replacements. I'm sure she kicked off again when she learnt she wouldn't be winning and would get done by Charlotte last. I'd like to believe that they omitted her to avoid jobbing her to Charlotte again but I don't think they like her!

Isn’t Sasha injured? Or storyline injured at least? She hasn’t wrestled in weeks.

  8. Enjoyed both Rumbles. Women’s was a lot better than last year. Disappointed with Charlotte winning and not Shayna. I know Charlotte is a star but I’m just sick of her and want her away from the title scene for a good year. And especially away from Becky.

The Brock stuff was entertaining. Being confronted by some the ghosts of his past made for some fun interactions. Loved the whole bit with Shelton.

I’ve always liked Edge and that was a cool moment. Biggest rumble pop since Cena in 08. Shame they missed his first spear and I think they missed most of his last spear to show Orton. Shoddy camera work.

Happy for Drew winning. He’s the perfect guy to push. A tall, well built, handsome fucker. He looks like a star. Just hope he can push on and turn that on more in the ring.

The rest of the show was mostly forgettable. Sheamus vs Gable on the pre show and Becky vs Asuka were good matches though.

This is so minor it shouldn't even belong here, but I'm just putting this here because the two images used tickle me. Good ol' Flatliner.

They said he's 42 though, I thought he was still only 24?

Ha. I went to a mates funeral in Portsmouth back in October and he was there. I remember asking someone at the wake who the Hogan wannabe was. I was told he was “some wrestler”. And then remembered my mate telling me he was mates with “some wrestler” a few years back. Literally never heard of him.

Was he ever a big name in British wrestling or has he always just been some wrestler?

I hate to be that prick, but has anyone seen if the Ghibli films on Netflix will be just the English language dubs or if the Japanese with subtitles will be an option? I can't seem to find out.

A website isn’t the most reliable source but I imagine it could be the case.

  11. Netflix announced yesterday that they’re adding all of the Studio Ghibli movies (except Graves of the Fireflies) from February 1st. They’re coming out in batches of 7, with the second and third ones coming out on March and April 1st.

Anyone who’s never seen some of these wonderful films when they’ve been shown on Film4 in the past now has a chance to see them all but one.

Mad Dogs was ok at best, but it went to shit.

I liked Mad Dogs. I’m less annoyed about the ending now than I was when I first saw it.

Has Sky ever produced a good original show of their own? I can't think of one

I enjoyed Save Me. Despite Lennie James being an awful actor.

See it even on the big stages with seasoned professionals. On the floor events that are non televised they're capable of beating anyone on their day but once they come out of their comfort zone suddenly they just don't have the composure. Particularly on the doubles.

Ian White syndrome. Something Krzysztof Ratajski is experiencing too.

There are two brothers in my local league who were asbolutely miles ahead of the pack, even the guys who have been mainstays on the Monday night league for 20+ years (and the standard there is decent, the majority of guys are out in <18 pretty much every leg) admit they are the best they've seen at that level. Both are still early 20's and no commitments in terms of family and nothing spectacular holding them back in terms of a career so they are constantly being nudged towards it by the 'regulars' for the last two or three years but neither has went for it. Must be hundreds of folk like that across the UK.

Yeah we’ve got quite a few like that. But no one wants to try and take that next step. Happy with pub league and county. There is one guy who will never be anything more than a good pub player who thinks he’s basically a pro because he went to Q School twice. Anyone can go if you’ve got the funds. He hasn’t won a single match there and thinks the uk open qualifiers are beneath him as he wants to go straight to the top with a tour card.

I’m hoping to go next year, but definitely will the year after if I don’t next January. Just need to get my averages up as I won’t get far with what I have right now.

  14. Some start to the last leg that was from Leung. 140,100,180. Just hope he actually uses his tour card unlike Royden Lam.

I think Lisa will get a tour card. A good run into the last 16 in the next couple of days will do her good. 12 points is the target.

Richie Edhouse looked pretty solid and steady and a few of the more familiar older names sniffing about - Andy Hamilton, James Richardson and Alan Tabern.

An uninspiring bunch but a couple of them will probably get a card. James Richardson, a man who just looks like he can’t wait for Brexit, being the most likely. He would’ve kept his card if he’d beaten big Hendo at the worlds.

Feck knows who is going to come through the UK Q School.

Yeah it’s tough this year. Winners were two people I’ve never heard of. And Andy Hamilton got far so will have some good points for the order of merit compared to some other big names.

Fallon Sherrock did well for the female side of things. Lisa Ashton too.

Corey Cadby gave up his tour card. Probably due to all his personal problems so Simon Stevenson of all people got to keep his. If he didn’t get that good run to the quarters of the UK Open, I’m sure he’d be at Q School this week.

  16. And the highest losing averages so far have been 92.9 and 93. From players I’ve never heard off. Deta Headman won 5-0 with a 79 against 66 average. Sounds like an awful game to have been a part of.

Seeing some of these results, I genuinely think I could get past the first round, draw dependent. Or at least lose with a decent average.

They all get dart boards in their rooms. You’d hope some of these people would’ve had a good practice before going down there. Or they’ve over practiced.
