Really enjoyed Raw this week. 

 

For the first time in ages I actually enjoyed Kane and seeing him lose his temper gradually throughout the show, his interaction with Seth & Triple H was great throughout the show, wouldn't mind seeing him have another 'Monster' run before hanging up his boots, depending on how long the authority storyline runs and how long Seth is the centre of attention it would be great to see Kane fully turn on them and hunt down Rollins (by Summerslam you will have Orton, Brock, Reigns also chasing him). 

 

I don't know whether The New Day are just shit or doing the heel thing well but I can't stand them and for the first time in ages also I was glad to see Orton come out and RKO them after stealing the win from the luchas. 

 

Reigns did what was needed and just took out Dallas, same with Ryback actually, don't mind short squash matches/segments with these two as it suits them well. 

 

Hopefully the Miz/Mizdow thing has run its course now, but can't help but feel with Rae turning this will drag on another month. 

 

Orton RKO'ing everyone was actually quite fun, Seth's new finisher (assuming it is) doesn't suit him (this has been mentioned in the other thread). 

 

A good go home show with some comedy moments, short matches (always think these suit Raw well), Orton popping up everywhere and nothing being too far drawn out. 

Not sure if this has ever been done before or if it even makes any sense but has a wrestler ever specialised in using an opponents finisher before? E.g. Rollins would use his opponents finisher every match instead of one of his own?

Not a fan of the new finisher either and I am a big Seth fan. If he needed more time to come up with a new one then surely he could have just done a roll up pin or copied Zigglers move as he could get away with it as a heel for one night. 

The way to look at it as well is that if she is texting and semi leading you on then how would you like it if you were together and she did that to you further down the line? Just seems a bit shifty to me and forgetting your feelings if she is willing to hint at things with you whilst with someone then it could happen to you next time.

 

Obviously in that situation thats a chance you would be more than willing to make, but always wary that a leopard doesn't change its spots.

Did anyone else notice during Reigns promo that either he or Big Show mentioned the word "retire"? Could that be a hint at a stip for the future perhaps? Maybe after 20 years, the last of which been pretty poor, Show has decided to hang them up, and they will use this as away for Roman to get more heat. To say he retired the Giant..

 

 

Not sure how it came across on TV but the majority of the fans were shouting 'Please retire' at the Big Show when he was talking backstage, I'm assuming Reigns used his initiative and used that word to get over with the crowd (kind of worked). 

I don't mind the US title open challenge but when you know it's Rusev vs Cena on ppv in a few weeks you know he isn't likely to lose or drop the belt making it pointless.

Not really. Nothing newsworthy. Average only made decent by the crowd at times. It's one to watch anytime without too much spoilers or talk.

That rumour probably came about as the 02 were selling merchandise.

Always go with gut instinct on things like this. Surely she has had enough chances to tell you how she feels so wouldn't wait around much longer.

 

It's one of them situations where she probably doesn't know what she wants and is scared to leave her boyfriend and only did it when away as it was the easy option, then when she got home reality kicked in, they probably had a talk and for all you know they could be back together and she's had a change of 'heart'.

 

It sounds blunt but maybe you just need to ask her to make a decision so you know where you stand, none of this 'I need time' bullshit as you can't keep waiting in hope forever as then if it doesn't happen your worse off for it in the long run.

I think this has been mentioned already but I am a big fan of a show always starting the same as in the fireworks/pyros and the title sequence, when this doesn't happen it kind of ruins my enjoyment for the whole show, I couldn't care as much what happens at the start of the show in the ring but when it cuts straight in it takes something away from it. 

 

It's even worse if you go to a show yourself and the entrances are not the same and are missing fireworks or effects, part of the experience is enjoying that which is why I prefer TV tapings to house shows (although many will say they like house shows to see more matches than talking).

Adverts during Raw when its so obvious they will cut to an advert (a heel might slide out the ring for a few seconds in a cowardly way and then its cut to an advert). I know they need to have adverts and in theory it won't be during the in-ring action (although sometimes it is) but would much prefer before/after matches than predictable adverts.

 

Then of course as soon as the show returns from an advert the actions resumes in the ring. I blame the Americans having adverts every five minutes.

Also you know when the title match is that early on that it either wasn't going to happen or something would go down (both in this case). You would think that in modern day WWE that if the title was to change it would be a main event in which it would do so not an hour or so into the show?

Really enjoyed raw but felt a bit flat come the main event as well really it was a match we have seen a hundred times before in different guises, I was half expecting Brock to come back down and clear up or someone else to be standing behind Rollins at the end (even Ambrose would have been livened him up a little).

 

Speaking of Ambrose I agree that he has been wasted but hoping he can move on this year, Reigns to turn heel and Ambrose to win the next MITB match would set up an interesting three way potential at next years WrestleMania, perhaps Reigns turning heel and gradually turning face on Rollins could save him, then Ambrose with the briefcase teasing Rollins could be good fun and an interesting twist. 

 

Rollins is gold though in every sense of the word, and with Orton, Cena, Reigns, Brock as potential challengers there is so much for him to do, perhaps even beat and remain the top guy. Throw in Ambrose as a MITB holder and it could be good fun the next year. 

I think with Jericho he comes across as himself in podcasts so you kind of either love him or hate him, where as other wrestlers are different away from the ring so can be more likeable even if you don't like them. 

 

You could say Jericho is acting up to his character but not too sure myself, he just seems the same person in and outside the ring and given his whole big loud personality I can see why people he is a dick but also why people think he is a laugh, as said he is okay in small doses but I try to ignore to the social media, podcasts and things away from the ring, there's only so much Jericho you can take. 

Raw felt really rushed this week, almost as if they had to pretty much cram everything on here to set last minute matches for mania.

 

Oh wait...

Someone mentioned that Raw was all talky talky but to be honest I much prefer raw when there is less wrestling than the usual 20 minute rematches we watch week after week (USO's, Goldust/Stardust, Ziggler, Kane/Show against whoever). Thought Raw was more enjoyable with less long matches and more build up, most matches were kept short too which works well as I fall asleep during most of them and thats what PPV's are for anyway mostly.

 

Heyman was the man again selling the main event as gold, improvising with the mic just shows his quality.

 

Also have to say Rusev is growing week by week on the mic, I just loved how he said that it doesn't matter what the ignorant americans think its his choice whether cena gets a rematch. I'm guessing Cena will probably do something to or with Lana to get his match (unless he steals the title lol).

 

Rollins again to me is just a delight to watch and enjoyed the tease of him cashing in at Mania and Reigns trying to lure him into making it a three way, I just hope that when he does cash in Orton doesn't get involved and screws him out of the title as I can see it going that way, whether thats cashing in on Raw in a few weeks with Orton officially turning on him to set up a match at mania or something where the feud carries after Mania as Orton interrupts and costs him his cash in. Hopefully they don't screw the angle up but loved Rollins saying he will bide his time and do what he pleases. 

 

Can't remember much else from Raw but was refreshing not seeing Goldust/Stardust, Show/Kane, Ziggler in any matches this week, lately its been much of the same so a good week this week. 

Are the raw episodes listed so you can watch them all in order from start until now? Or do you have to mess about going through the dodgy search system?

Did that Booker T documentary ever materialise on the network? I remember reading about it but haven't seen it on the network yet.

Of course it was, rightfully so. That's probably one of my favorite in-ring segments of all-time. Bisch puts in a performance worthy of five snowflakes.

 

Is that Smackdown on the network at all? Need to rewatch this in all its glory. 

I was watching the 10 most epic Smackdown moments earlier, #3 was a UKFF favourite- Big Show's father's funeral. Christ alive, I forgot how hilarious it was. The old police car Boss Man pulls up in, with a ridiculous sized megaphone attached to the top, just killed me.

 

Please tell me Billy and Chuck's wedding was in that list (or even available to watch on the network). Epic moments. 

 

I thought Raw was okay this week. Don't mind the Orton tease too much as its obvious he will turn on Rollins so at least they are trying to build something rather than have him turn in one night (although the fans were decent last night). 

 

He was already a babyface. He had everyone behind him when he came back at Fastlane. Then on Raw being mates with the Authority again, will it really lead to a much bigger pop or be more interesting if he turns on them next week or the week after?

 

 

if I'm honest I was thinking during the show how predictable it would be that Orton would agree to be in the authority so he was in the ring with Seth only to take him out and do the whole babyface thing. 

 

So from a surprise element him not exactly turning on Seth works for me, but depends where they take it I guess.

Some matches seemed more fresh than normal, not sure where they are going with the tag division, love the Accession entrance and music but am thinking they need to to surely go in a positive direction, whether thats a face turn, being thrown in with Wyatt or something with a meaning, also thought given there run it was ridiculous to have them lose to the prime time players, who writes this stuff?

 

Speaking of tag teams how annoying is Naomi with the USO's, it was her fault they got into a feud with Miz/Mizdow, her fault they got into a feud with Cesaro & Tyson Kidd and she just seems to have dragged them back both in a storyline perspective and as a wrestler, are the USO's that bad they need to base all the storylines around Naomi?

 

Reigns seemed better on the mic this week so enjoyed his exchange with Heyman, agree that he seems to be set for a heel turn.

 

I think that's all that needs to be said about Raw. 

 

Hopefully Rollins doesn't end up cashing in his MITB only to be screwed by Orton at some point, I can see this happening further down the line. 

I've known Steve a long darn time and I know for sure he wouldn't have copied it, and the chance of him even seeing that game is negligible.

 

Outside chance it may have ended up going to THQ though.

 

Sorry my post wasn't meant to come across as disrespectful or anything just that I remember seeing something similar so wasn't sure if the guys at THQ (or whoever made them guides) copied the concept and used it themselves. Strange how things trigger the memory! 

 

On a side note I also have nothing but good words to say about Silver Vision, its crazy how everything is now online based. 

The company that used to be CV still does TNA, with 3 upcoming releases announced this week and more coming soon.

 

So when I started with SV I was asked to provide some basic information on the wrestlers - catchphrases and finishing moves. This came from some of the non wrestling fans, hoping to get a bit of info so they could sound more knowledgable dealing with customers and the business that brought in the majority of the revenue at the time. This is what I came up with - riddled with mistakes I'm sure!

 

 

 

My memory may be a little sketchy but I'm sure I remember seeing pretty much the exact same thing either in a WWE video game (Smackdown on PS2?) either in the manual that came with the game or in the official game book which gave you tips on how to play the game and the characters etc. 

 

Someone on here may remember but it looks exactly the same layout unless you copied it yourself?
