  1. No Yoga Hosers is pretty much the bottom of the Smith barrel. I like his stuff by and large. Particularly Tusk which I think is drastically underrated. Yoga Hosers is complete mess, mildly entertaining and very very silly. He's said it's an ode to Full Moon studios and I can sort of see it. But over all I'd say most people would find it both painful and annoying. Probably only Cop Out is worse and only Clerks 3 is less funny.

  2. I knew he was unwell but it still sucks. I was lucky enough to meet him at FWA British Uprising 3 and see him wrestle which is quite incredible now I'm thinking about it. What an absolute legend. As has been said I've never heard a bad word said against him either. Definitely going to dig out some of his classics tonight.

  3. Just been on a day out with the extended family to West Witterings beach. Have just ended the day in a playpark scoffing two battered vegan Richmond sausages and chips.

Sausages excellent as were the fish and chicken nuggets everyone else had. Chips on the other hand were a letdown. Soft and really pretty cold. So a bit of a let down but it's did the job.

Mu apologise in advance if I'm asking this in the wrong topic, but does anyone know if any news on whether CM Punk is going to be on this show?

I'm surprised to hear how many tickets they have already sold for this show, I didn't have any clue AEW was that popular in the UK.  Good on them though, hopefully it will turn out to be a fantastic show.

Yeah he's definitely going to be on the show. He cut a promo two weeks ago and pretty much confirmed it.

All-Star Superman has been on my reading backlog for some time. I should get back on Comixology and actually read it.

I will, of course, be avoiding All-Star Batman.

Do it. All-Star Superman is top tier Supes. Highly recommended I think I like it more than Kingdom Come even.

Having been to this venue loads of times, I can't believe PE played there. That's amazing.

Yeah it was surreal to say the least. Absolutely packed. They were on fire too. Small venue be damned they rocked it like it was a sold out arena.

  7. First proper gig was Cypress Hill with my best mate at the Brixton Academy in 98. It was fantastic. We were 15 and got a contact high like you wouldn't believe.

Worst is probably Alien Ant Farm at Sub89 in Reading. Went for the two support acts and both of them were really good fun but AAF were mind numbing.

Best is very hard to say but Public Enemy at Sub89 in Reading stands out in 2014. They absolutely rocked a 3 hour set in a pretty small, incredibly hot, sold out venue and my wife danced with Flavour Flav on stage. Brilliant.

Special shout out to Lebrock at Retro Future Fest 1. I only went because my friends helped organise it. Never really heard any Synthwave at that point and Lebrock captured my imagination so much in 5 songs that it instantly made me a fan of entire genre.

Anyone else spend ages day dreaming about how many bands they have seen and in what order? I often think about trying to sort out a list.

  8. It's a shame Netflix or someone don't throw money at him. In a world where you know he finds his audience on home video surely the streaming era makes you a hot property. Not to mention John Carpenter is as revered as anyone by horror fans. They could shout that they had the great John Carpenter from the roof tops.

  9. It's hard to describe the impact of Halloween on myself and culture as whole. I'm certainly not capable of it. Halloween is top 3 films of all time for me.

Having said that I'm not sure he has a 'Best' film. There is a strong case that it's actually The Thing. It's a remarkable film in a line up of remarkable films. It's so intense, exciting and thrilling.

I've also seen The Thing a lot less than Halloween so I suspect it might be more novel. The reality is I watch probably between 50 and 100 slasher movies a year which all borrow in one way or another from Halloween.

Prince of Darkness is certainly the most underrated I'd say.

BTILC & They Live are like warm cuddly blankets of films. Love them both nearly as much as the aforementioned films.

John Carpenter is probably my favourite director and certainly up there with the most consistent.

  10. I'm getting pretty into my YouTube channel. I've stepped up my game with editing and lighting recently. Was wondering does anyone have any recommendations for web sites with royalty free sound effects for commercial use?

  11. Bumblebee was really fun but that trailer just fills me with Michael Bay levels of dread. The upside is I can't be disappointed if it blows.

The Beast Wars lot look really well designed compared to whatever the Dinobots were supposed to be so at least it has that going for it.
